Guest designer Els Brigé Design

Last week I was guest designer at Els Brige's blog and of course I have to show my cards here as well.

I created two cards. The first one is made with a wood texture paper of simple stories, leaves made with dies from MFT (a birthday present from Rhodé, thanks!) and circle dies with a stitched line (also from MFT). For the sentiment I used the "'t Is je verjaardag" set.

I am a fan of Papertrey Ink. Lovely designs and good quality. Howerver, the sentiments are in English and not every Dutch person loves English sentiments on a card. So, I am very happy with Els' stamps with their beautiful fonts. The next card is made with Papertrey Ink's 'Floral Sketches'. For the sentiment I used the "'t Is je verjaardag" set. I also used "warme wensen", which actually is a christmas set, but also usable for other occasion.  I stamped a background with two stamps for the latter set.

Thanks for hopping by and have a lovely weekend!

Autumn

On this rainy and windy day I'd like to show you a card with an autumn feeling. I used some papers from a Simple Stories line from last year. The leaves dies are from Simply Graphic and the hello die is from MFTstamps.

I'm enjoying my autumn break this week which means some extra time to spend in my craftroom!

Gingham elephant?

Have you ever seen gingham elephants? I was invited to be guestdesigner at the City Crafter blog. This week's theme is 'Did I make you up?'. You have to use something which doesn't really exist. I came up with a row of gingham elephant. Sure, they don't exist! Both die and papers are from MFT. The ABC stamp is from Concord and 9th.  I've send this card to a little baby boy.
You can still participate in the challenge. Head over to the blog for more information.

Hope you'll have a lovely weekend!

Hello!

For today's card I was inspired by Laurie Willison's card. Loved the way she did it.
So, I lifted her card, although I used another leaf stamp and stamped the leaves in straight lines. The stamp is a small 3 step one from Altenew's mini stamp 'Daisy'. The 'hello' die is from MFT stamps.

These London Mice from MFT stamps are joining  the parade singing a birthday song for our niece!
For this card I was inspired by Laura's spinner card tutorial . Aren't they adorable?

Shake it! #2

No handmade christmas cards for me this year. Haven't got time to create whole series. So, in the overload of christmas cards these days I've got some general cards for you!

In August I won a $100,- gift card from MFT and you can imagine that I performed a little dance after I read their e-mail with happy news. Of course I had a wish lists and my father wanted it to bring it after his visit to the States. Unfortunately, some of the products on my wish list were sold out, so I had to choose some other sets like this Birthday Bear set. It turned out to be a good choice. The bears are lovely and it has got great sentiments. I didn't order the dies, but it fuzzy handcut is no problem at all with this set. I created a shaker cards with quite a simple sketch.

The  London Mouse stamps and the London skyline die were a must have for me as a teacher of English. I wouldn't have ordered these sets if I had to buy them, because they are quite expensive. But with this gift card I couldn't resist these sets. I had seen so many beautiful cards made with them. However, I have some troubles with the stamps. I have great ideas in mind, but it doesn't work at all. This is the first card I have finished using the sets although I only used the London Eye stamp... Hopefully, more will follow! For this card I used the same idea as for the first card, but now I created a hill to give the card more interest. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and I stamped it with Stazon on acetate. In case you wonders what is under the 's' of congrats, it is just a sequin who could resist gravity...

All papers I used for today's cards are from Simple Stories. With some leftovers I created the last card. With the gift card I ordered some stitched circle dies as well and I used these dies for this card. The star is from spellbinder (without any border at all) and the Hello die is from Lawn Fawn.

That was it for today. Thanks for hopping by and I wish all of you a lovely weekend!

love

Today's card is made for a wedding anniversary. I gave it a bit of a romantic look by using pinks and reds, hearts and and a lovely 'love' die from Clearly Besotted Stamps. Creating a background with daubers is so easy to do and I love the effect. In my previous post, I sponged the ink on watercolour paper. For this card I used smooth cardstock. Both work fine! The little hearts are stamped with a little stamp from a Lawn Fawn set. The bigger heart is from MFT. Designpaper is from Glitz Design.

Love

Months ago I ordered embossing paste. The can had been on my desk for several weeks before it disapperead  somewhere in my cupboard. Without using it. However, there is so much inspiration on the Internet and it called me many times: use me! Well, here is the first result. I used a stencil from Studio Calico, stamped two hearts from MFT's Homespun Hearts. I added some glimmer mist and, hardly visible, white thread. I stamped a sentiment with Lawn Fawn's Milo ABC on a banner. Perfect card for a newly-wed couple.I am quite satisfied!

Do you know that Crazy for Cas currently has a challenge 'use stencils'? Hop over to the blog for more details. Thanks for coming by!

Happy Anniversary

I made this car for a couple who will celebrate their 40th wedding day soon. I used the dies from MFT's Homespun Hearts and a sentiment from Clearly Besotted Stamps. Patterned paper from Glitz Design. It is hardly visible, but I distressed the background with Antique Linen and stamped diagonally a grid with Old Paper - distress ink.It had been a long time ago since I used stitches on a card. But my sewing machine still worked. Actually I'm not really happy with the doily. I'd better put it a bit lower...

Enjoy your weekend! Thanks for coming by.

Valentine style

No, I'm not really into Valentine's Day, but when I saw the challenge on the new, sparkling challengeblog 'Cas on Sunday' I thought: let's give it a try! And here is my card:

The card is made with MFT Homespun Hearts and MME Nostalgia. The background is distressed with Antique Linen and all the borders with Tea Dye.

Have a nice evening and thanks for stopping by!

Button Tree

I got a few minutes left and hurried to my craft room. I worked out an idea I had in mind after finding some inspiration on Pinterest. I saw a tree filled with hearts. I thought why not using MFT's buttons and leaves? Yep, I have to practise a bit more the get the shape of the tree better, but for a first attempt it isn't that bad, is it? At the left side I added a strip of paper from Glitz Design and stitched the papers together. It looks like I'm in a CAS mood :)

Have a nice day!

Thinking of you

Tests are over! Yesterday evening I did the last two tests. Such a relief! Hopefully I've got pass marks, but I have to wait a couple of weeks before I will know. Some tests were really hard. Let's hope the best. Today was my day off, so I had enough time to make a card. I used the papers and stamps which were still on my craft table. It means that I show you again a card made with MME Nostalgia and MFT's Homespun Hearts. The background is stamped with PTI's polka dots. It is not a card which makes me very satisfied. Maybe this idea worked better when I designed a 10/15 cm card. But I like the stamped 'heart-flower' with the sentiment!

That's it for today! Thanks for coming by!

Hugs & flowers

While studying I need a break sometimes and these breaks I love to spend in my craft room. And that's how this card is created. I didn't have any idea what to do and I just started. I made a background from several designs from Nostalgia. And I made these four designs more equal by spraying with glimmer mist. Never used it before, so I was a bit anxious to use it. But it turned out well and I like the effect on the background. I stamped a centre piece with Antique linen and a grid stamp. And of course, again I used some stamps from  Homespun Hearts.

Yesterday I had the first two tests and I've got a good feeling. Looking forward to seeing the results. Tuesday are the other two.

Last week I celebrated my birthday and I got a gift from our nephews and nieces which was really nice and creative, so I'd like so show it to you. Every one decorated a litte bottle with 'window plastic' (do you know what I mean?), which was cut into different figures, letters and fantasy shapes. Of course, some of them had a little help from their mothers. These bottles were put on a lovely tray and filled with flowers. Really original, isn't it? Unfortunately it is a bit hard to take photos of the decorated bottles, but this one is quite visible.

Thank you for your comments on the problem with uploading. I downloaded Chrome again (I removed it after having problems with it when strange links occured in websites) and now I can upload photos without any problem.

Off to work now! Enjoy your weekend!

Homespun Hearts

In my previous post I told you I got my order with the MFT's Homespun Hearts. I ordered the heart stamps, the heart dies and hearts border die. This weekend I made a card and I'm very satisfied with the result. In special the border die is a great addition to my craft stock. I used the papers of MME Nostalgia.

Unfortunately I have to wait a bit before a can do more with this set. First of all I have to finish the tests before crafting... One week to go!

Thanks to the snow I didn't have any difficulty with taking pictures today. A perfect light tent! It is so bright inside although there is no sunshine at the moment. I was so glad I didn't have any problems this morning to travel to school. We were right on time and we  drove only an extra 15 minutes over 50 km. However, some of my students were less fortunate....

By the way, I usually upload pictures to my blog directly from my laptop. But it looks like it isn't possible anymore. Do you know why it is or do I have to thick a box somewhere? Now, I have to upload the photos first to picasaweb. A bit time consuming, isn't it?

Enjoy your day. I'm in a hurry to my studybooks! Thanks for coming by.
