Project Life 2016 ~ June 3 to 6 (Amsterdam)

 Project Life 2016

June 3
We took the train from Grafing to Munich, and then fly to Amsterdam. The flight was delayed for 3 hours, we didn't get to Amsterdam early enough and only have time to walk around the neighborhood, look for something to eat.

We stay at Qbic hotel near the world trade center, despite the trouble I had with the booking while I was still in the States, the outcome turn out to be a happy one, they gave me two large rooms with window.....

I love the bed, I love the super fast internet connection

the bathroom and toilet has no door though, but I am the only one in this room, so it really doesn't matter.

June 4
Today is a fabulous day, Wendy came to meet us at our hotel, and then we had breakfast together at Le Pain Quotidian

we exchanged gifts and then walk to the floating flower market....

they have tulips in all sorts of colors....

and they also sell weed everywhere....

we passed by many beautiful canals.....

admiring those charming Dutch buildings.....

it is hard not to notice the bell gables, step gables, triangular gables and neck gables...

we had lunch together and then walked some more till we are really really tired.

Thanks for a wonderful day Wendy! : )

June 5
Today is Museum day, first on our list is Van Gogh Museum.

Look what I got....

it really cracks me up.... LOL!

The Anne Frank House is next.....

being able to walk through their secret hiding place and reading her original hard written diary was an extremely moving experience for us.

I am a big fan of Indonesian food when I was still living in Singapore, knowing that we can actually find very good Indonesian restaurant in Amsterdam makes the trip even more exciting, this is also on my MUST DO list....

they are really yummy, believe it or not, I actually bought home the best Sambal Manis from Amsterdam

We are leaving Amsterdam tomorrow afternoon, I already know that I am going to miss you Amsterdam! I really hope to come visit again!

June 6
We had breakfast not far from the Hotel, do a little bit of shopping and then ready to go to the airport, LONDON here I come!

As you can see, it is almost end of November and I am still trying to catch up with my summer travel, sigh..... I really wish I could have more time to craft! Thanks for being patient with me.

Project Life 2016 ~ June 2 (Salzburg, Austria)

You can see I am desperately trying to catch up with my project life, it is November and I am just done with June, sigh....

Project Life 2016

June 2

Salzburg, Austria

We took the train from Grafing to Salzburg this morning, it cost Euro 35 for 3 return tickets.

Augustin reminded us to sit on the right side of the train, we could see the Alps from a distance even though it is drizzling.....

We took a short cab ride from the train station to the town center, Cafe Tomaselli is our first stop....

located at the Alter Market, we learned that Mozart used to be a frequent guest here....

this is my breakfast at Cafe Tomaselli...

this is Clare's......

we heard that ice cream and dessert are really good here but we have no room after breakfast.....

our next stop is to visit Mozart Birth Place....

we enjoy window shopping in Salzburg old town, and we saw this on an umbrella, it really crack me up...

and then we crossed over the river to look for Mozart's Residance....

by this time, I really feels like a dessert, so we stopped at another famous cafe in Salzburg...

Cafe Fürst

they are the original Salzburger Mozartkugel

we are ready to get back to the train station by now, but we couldn't get a cab and decided to walk, we found Mirabell Garden on our way to the train station....

so beautiful, there is no reason not to stop for photos...

the first leg of the train was delayed, and that caused us to missed the connection, so we waited another hour for the train, thank you to my friend Ann, who had chicken rice cooked and waited for us when we get back to her place.
