Do I Believe in Fairies?

Of course I believe in fairies!  There's the tooth fairy, the garden fairy and the good fairy that does housework....I'm still waiting for her...but I believe!

Today's card uses an LOTV stamp, Fairies on Tiptoe.  I've had her coloured for ages and now I finally came up with an idea for the card.  It helps when you find some new goodies that you can use, which I will list below.  Quite a bit of sparkle this time, and amazingly it even shows in the photo!  I've coloured with Prismas, adding some chalk for the background, and the card edges have been inked with a purple to match her outfit.

Supplies used:
Paper: Spring Fling paper stack from Wild Rose Studio
Tools:  MS border punch, Scor Pal, Scalloped Circles nestie die.
Other:  Stickles, Anita's fairy wings (butterfly), Anita's Glitteration frames, organza bow, flowers and gems
Sentiment:  freebie from Bird's Cards

Don't vacations have that extra punch when you find some new supplies?  Oh yes!

Thanks for visiting with me today, and I hope you enjoy my card.  The sun is shining finally, so today I'll be busy out in my gardens.  Hopefully the weather is fine where you are too.....have a wonderful day!

Vacation Happenings

Good morning everyone!  Today's post is a wee bit different....no card but a few pictures, and a few funny and not so funny moments from our vacation.

First a visit to Cornwall England, where for one of our outings we explored the ruins of Tintagle Castle.

Amazing views, with lots and lots of climbing. This was a wonderful learning experience, lol, (I'm not as young as I once was) as I hobbled about for the next week!

And now a heads up for anyone travelling to Europe.  We found out the hard way, that you can fill your gas tank with the wrong fuel!  The nozzles are not always put back in the correct slot, so you may think you are filling with diesel, but........ not so funny!

Next we moved on to Kent, on the east coast, where we took in Dover Castle and Canterbury and its beautiful cathedral.

In addition, we met up with a wonderful couple from Surrey, one of my blogging friends...Brenda from Bumblebees and Butterflies, and her husband.  We had a lovely evening with good food and lots to say, and a first for me...actually meeting someone I had met on the web.  The hubbies got along well too, and I really think they were more gabby than we were!  We had our picture taken too, so here you go...

Next stop...Paris, but first a new suitcase as we broke a wheel on the cobblestones...why not, eh?  Took the Eurostar, and no problems there.

Paris was amazing....so much to see and do!  (the shops, the food, the wine.....lol)  We managed pretty well with my little bit of French, and their little bit of English, but there was a funny happening that had us in stitches.  Do not try to wedge 2 people and all your luggage in an elevator meant for 3 people!  We got squeezed in okay for the doors to close, but......it took a while for us to get out.  Didn't help that we couldn't stop laughing!  We have so many pictures, but here's a couple you won't have seen before (haha).

Other than feeling our age, we were doing okay until Iceland had another volcano....why not!  Luckily it didn't affect our departure, however, we did miss a flight connection in Boston resulting in an overnight stay.  This was good news though, as the airline covered the cost and we were beat.

We had another chuckle upon our return home.....we missed the dandelion blooms! (lol)  Because of all the rain, the grass/weeds are nearly 2 feet high in places.  Now we need some sunshine to dry it all out.  I think I know how we'll be keeping busy!  I guess I need to get crafting before the sun shines!

We're Home Again!

Hello again everyone, and let's hope you are all having a wonderful weekend........in between the raindrops, or whatever else Mother Nature has in store for you.  We made it home Friday from a lovely 3 week vacation to England and France, and now we need to do a major catch up here at home.  Honestly, with all the rain while we were gone, in some areas of our property the grass is two feet high!  Can't complain though, we had 3 weeks of lovely weather while away (sigh), and this afternoon the sun did peak through for a couple of hours.

I will show some pictures in another post, and let you know some of the happenings, but for now here's a card I made a while ago but hadn't yet shown.  I think I'm suffering from withdrawl, not having posted a card for 3 weeks!  lol

Here I've used a clear mini stamp from Inkadinkado, called Sleepy Owl.  For the background paper, I've used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on a light beige cardstock, which I've then sponged with blue DI.  With the addition of some black cardstock elements for contrast, and a limited amount of bling and ribbon, I think this card will work perfectly when I need such a card for a guy!

Thanks for visiting me again, and maybe I've given you a few ideas.  Otherwise, maybe you would like to check out these challenges for some further inspiration.

Goodness Gracious

Here's another card with one of the Wonderland images from Just Inklined.  This one is Door Mouse and you can purchase it here, or as part of a set here.  Lots of fun to be had with these images, and the possibilities are endless! (just so long as he doesn't show up in one of my teapots!)

I've coloured with Prismas and OMS, cut it out with my Nestie Die and popped it up with foam tabs.  The brown background paper is embossed with stripes and edged with gold metallic, and if you've noticed the black zigzag pattern on the DP, it's a new stencil I've purchased with some stitch designs.  Much easier for me than threading a needle....they make the needle eyes so small these days! (lol)

Once again, this post is pre-scheduled.....but I'll be home soon!  Have yourselves a wonderful day, and happy crafting.

Poppy Dreams

Good morning everyone!  As you are reading this, I will be on vacation.....hopefully enjoying some spring flowers.  I think poppies are my favourite flowers, and it's just a shame that they don't bloom for very long.  I have a few of them in my gardens....can't wait for them to bloom!

This is the Corner Poppy A4 digi image from Just Inklined, which comes with a few sentiments and is already positioned and set up for an A4 card.  I've used Tombow markers to colour the image and DI to add some interest to the edges.

Other than a bit of layering, only a 3D butterfly (from my stash) has been added for embellishment.  The card base has been stamped with a dark green background stamp and then inked with DI.

Have a wonderful day, and hopefully soon you will be enjoying your favourite flowers too!

It's a colour challenge!

Good morning!  It's challenge time again at DZ Doodles.  Be sure to check it out....there's another freebie image, and the DT creations are adorable.  This time, we need to see the colours blue, yellow and white.

Well, what do you think of this little sweetie?   She's the freebie this week!  I've coloured her with Promarkers and prisma pencils.  The embossed card blank has been sponged with DI, and a few layers have been added behind the image.

The fancy corner pieces are from my latest purchase from Wild Orchid Crafts, and a few added flowers give it that little extra colour.  For a bit of sparkle, I've added some clear stickles to both the flowers and the bows on the image.  Nice and bright and sunny, even though it's raining......we really need that, as it has been raining far too much over here!

Tools used:  Fiskar's corner punch, Nestibilities Labels 18 die

Go Ask Alice....

Hello again!  Are you starting to enjoy the May flowers, or like us, still working off those April showers?  If you remember the song, White Rabbit, from the seventies, you'll know where I found the inspiration for this card, and after all the rain we've been having I'm sure I'll find lots of these in my lawn.

For this card, I've used two images from Just Inklined.  One of them, Fairy Toadstools,  is currently available as our 200 member freebie over at CDAC.  Be sure to head on over if you are not yet a member.  It makes a gorgeous background stamp, and I think it works perfectly with the new Wonderland digi stamps.

Today I've used Alice, as my granddaughter has a birthday this month....and she loves to read.  I have a few more ideas in mind though, so you will probably see another card or two with this theme.

The background image has been coloured with DI, while for Alice I've used Promarkers.  For both, I've shaded with Prisma pencils.   You will note that I've used a script stamp behind the image, which lends itself to the idea of reading.

The sentiment is a freebie from Bizzy Becs, which you can find here.  I've added some dimension by attaching both Alice and the sentiment with foam tabs.

Hope you enjoyed your visit, and if you have any questions you could go ask Alice, but better still, leave your question in your comment!  Until next time.....have a wonderful day!

CAS Blog Hop at Just Inklined

Good morning, good morning!  Hopefully you are all having a fine day, and now to top it off, it's our monthly Blog Hop at Just Inklined.  This time it's a clean and simple theme, and of course that's always open to different interpretations. (lol!).  If you have arrived here from Heidy's blog, you're doing good!  Otherwise you may want to start back at the beginning at Jak's blog.  You really don't want to miss any of the DT's gorgeous projects....plus....there are 5 hidden spot prizes for those that leave comments!

I've made two cards for today, to show you a CAS card that you can make again and again.  This background paper is a freebie from Jak that you can find here on her blog.  Before printing it out, I played with it in Photo Shop, adding the Rose image (or A4 Digi Sheet).  By removing the white background from the image, but leaving the rose white, it allows you to colour the image with your choice of medium after you print it out.  I've used Promarkers and then Prisma pencils for the shading.  It goes without saying, this lets you make any number of cards in a variety of different colours.

You might even want to add some bling!  But hats off to anyone who uses these swirls...I found them very tricky to apply.  There's a first time for everything, but sometimes there's a last! (lol)

So now you need to go have a look see what gorgeous eye-candy Jeni has to show you.  I hope you've enjoyed the hop, and found a few new fun ideas to inspire you.  Happy crafting!
