And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Throwback Thursday - Surprise Box

Hello friends!  It's time for another Throwback Thursday over at Divinity Designs and the feature for today is the Surprise Box Dies.

Creative Nugget:  The Surprise Box Dies were used to cut the box from black card stock and the panel layers from papers from the Pretty Pink Peonies Collection.  The center of the box was filled with grass cut with the Grass Border Die.  MOM was cut with the Long & Lean Letters and suspended from the box on strips of acetate.  The butterflies and sentiment are from The Greatest Gift Stamp/Die Duo.  The butterflies were stamped and cut from paper smooshed with Distress Oxide Inks.  They were also suspended from the box with strips of acetate.  Rectangle and Scalloped Rectangle dies were used to cut and frame the sentiment.  An organdy bow was added to finish the box which collapses flat for mailing.

Just Ducky

Hello friends...happy Friday!  I love the mallard duck image from the new Best Dad Ever stamp set by Divinity Designs...makes creating those masculine cards that are so difficult for me just a little bit easier.

Creative Nugget:  The Lever Card Dies were used to cut the card base from black card stock papers from the Weathered Wood Collection were cut with the Lever Card Layers Dies for each of the panels.  The duck image was colored with Copic Markers. The birthday sentiment was embossed on a banner cut with one of the Treat Tags Dies.

The opened card reveals another embossed sentiment on a Pierced Rectangle panel with two Large Banner die cuts placed at each end.  I found a matching Alcohol Pearl Ink piece of Yupo paper in my stash and ran it through my Big Shot with the Fish Embossing Folder.  The raised edges were lightly sanded to bring out the detail on the embossing.  There...one more masculine card ready to go!

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Alphabet Challenge Blog - E is for Embossing Folder
Colour Crazy Colouring Challenge - Week 20
Scrapping 4 Fun Challenge 141 - Masculine
Just Add Ink #458 - Just Add "Q-X-Y-Z" (Yupo Paper)
CCEE Stampers CCEE1921 - Use a Die

Remembrance - DD Color Challenge

Happy Saturday, everyone!   It's time for another Divinity Designs Color Combo Challenge. This month we are using colors inspired by the papers from the Old Glory Paper Pad.

I decided to use this sentiment from the the Remembrance stamp set for my sample since my family is experiencing some medical difficulties at this time.

Creative Nugget:  The Circles Stencil was used to emboss a white panel cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die.  A frame was cut using a Pierced Rectangle and Square Die.  Papers from the Old Glory Paper Pad were cut with Square, Scalloped Rectangle, Scalloped Square, Bitty Borders, and Test Tube Trios dies (the small bow).  The sentiment was stamped twice in blue and red inks so that some of the red words could be cut and placed over the blue ones for a multi-colored sentiment.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Delightful Daisies

Hello Friends...happy Saturday!  Are you ready for the weekend?  I have a couple of cards using Delightful Daisies, a stamp set designed by Nina Brackett for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps that I never had a chance to share here on my blog.

Creative Nugget:  This stamp set includes outline images which can be colored and solid images which can be stamped alone or layered with the outline image...LOVE!  For this card, Color Burst powders were watered down and painted onto the solid daisy images, spritzed with water, and stamped on watercolor paper. After that dried, the outline daisies were stamped. The butterfly is from the Made New stamp set and the white embossed sentiment is from the new Cheerful Hexies set.  The watercolor panel was stitched to a card front stamped with one of the textures  from Texture Tiles 1 and sponged with a little Oxide Ink.

My second card also uses Delightful Daisies.

Creative Nugget:  The outline daisies were stamped and colored with Copic Markers.  Then came the scary part...cutting out the strips for the sentiments.  The sentiments from the Scripty Thoughts stamp set were embossed on vellum strips which were wrapped around the colored strips.  The larger panels were popped up on fun foam while the sentiment strips were mounted directly onto the black panel.  A jute bow was added to finish the card.  This card design was inspired by a Jennifer McGuire video that I saw.  That's it, friends...3 flowers, 2 diagonal sentiment panels and 1 bow!

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by...happy stamping, and have a wonderful weekend!

Pretty Peonies

Hello friends!  Today I am sharing a couple of cards over on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog using the Stamp of the Month for May and a few other stamp sets from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps new release.

Creative Nugget:  The Peony Cluster was white embossed on Kraft card stock and colored with Prismacolor Pencils.  A stamp from the Texture Tiles 1 stamp set was white embossed on another Kraft panel and stitched to the left of the peonies.  A third panel was embossed and white ink rubbed over the raised edges to enhance the design.  This panel was also stitched to the card front.  Twine was wrapped around the card and the sentiment added to finish the card.  I love the look of the colored peonies on the Kraft card stock!

Creative Nugget:  The Peony Cluster was inked up with a much neglected Kaleidacolor ink pad and randomly stamped over the background.  A sentiment from the Marriage Scripture stamp set was embossed with Liquid Platinum powder on a white panel. The wedding cake from the Happy Couple stamp set was embossed and colored with Copic Markers.  A dyed bow and matching pearls were added to finish the card.

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

Looking Back at the Divinity Designs May 2019 Release

Good morning, friends...happy Friday!  Today we are looking back at the Divinity Designs May 2019 Release. The May release was dedicated to grads and dads.

My first card features the Couture Collection set of dies which can be used to make a dress shirt and tie which can be used for any occasion.

Creative Nugget:  Papers from the Menswear Material Collection were cut with the dies from the Couture Collection to create the shirt and vest.  The card can open up and an appropriate sentiment can be stamped on the inside.  Love the faux stitching detail on the vest!

My second card features The Future stamp set and the Grad Dies.

Creative Nugget:    The card base was cut with the Tri-Shutter Card Dies.  Papers from the Birthday Bash Collection and the Birthday Brights Paper Pad were cut with Tri-Shutter Layers Dies. Each of the panels were decorated with Grad Dies, Long & Lean Numbers Dies, Alphabet Flags Dies, Treat Tags Dies, and sentiments from The Future stamp set.

This close up shows the wonderful font on the Grad Dies.

Welcome to the Divinity Designs May 2019 Release

Hello, friends!  It's the beginning of a new month and that means it's also time for another Divinity Designs Release! The products being released this month are perfect for creating cards and gifts for dads and graduates.  Today I am sharing two projects using some of the new products.

My first sample features the Best Dad Ever stamp set, the new Weathered Wood  Paper Collection and the Fish Embossing Folder.

Creative Nugget:  Watered down Distress Oxide inks were applied to a mixed media panel.  A navy strip was added to the panel and was embossed with the Fish Embossing Folder.  A white ink pad was swiped over the raised impressions to make them stand out a little more.  Two panels were cut with a die from the Center Step Layers die set from paper from the Weathered Wood Collection.  Twine was wrapped around the panel.  The image from the Best Dad Ever was colored with Copic Markers.  The image and sentiment panels were cut with Circle Dies

My second project uses the Dream Big stamp set and the Grad Dies.

Creative Nugget:  The Center Step Card Dies were used cut the card base.  Distress Oxide Inks were applied directly to the Flower Burst Stencil, spritzed with water and pressed onto a mixed media panel.  This almost looks like fireworks bursting in the sky.  The Flower Burst Stencil as well as the Arrows Stencil were used to sponged inks onto another panel that had been sponged with Distress Oxide inks.  These panels were cut with the Center Step Layers Dies.  Three of the sentiments from the Dream Big stamp set were stamped on Treat Tags and a Pierced Oval die cut.  The Grad Dies were used to cut the caps and "Congratulations."  Sparkling Stars Dies were used to cut stars from gold embossed card stock.

These new products from Divinity Designs were used to create the cards above...

Hello Friend - DD Color Challenge

Happy Saturday, everyone!   It's time for the Divinity Designs Color Combo Challenge. This month we are using colors inspired by the papers from the Beautiful Blooms Paper Pad.

I have chosen to use the the Hello Friend Stamp/Die Duo for my sample.

Creative Nugget:  The card base was cut with the Double Display Card Dies and the Beautiful Blooms papers were cut with the Double Display Layers Dies.  I also used the Belly Band Dies to create a belly band to hold the card closed.  The sentiment from the Hello Friend Stamp/Die Duo was embossed on a panel cut with a Circle Die and layered to a Scalloped Circle die cut. Leaves from the stamp set were colored with Copic Markers, cut with the coordinating die and added to embellish the sentiment.

The card opens to reveal a couple flowers from the Hello Friend Stamp/Die Duo which were colored, cut and added to the inside sentiment panel to finish the card.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
