And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Hello

Hello friends!  It's my turn to share on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog and thought I'd share here as well.  First is a little "Hello" made with the Keep in Touch stamp set for the Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoaststampers yesterday as well as the Mojo Monday Sketch.

Creative Nugget:  White, black, and pink sponging, stamping, and card stock were used with the Keep in Touch stamp set to create this card.  Typewriter Text was used on the background and the Classy Script Alpha was used to stamp "hello."  Alphabet sets are ideal for creating the perfect sentiment for your card and SNSS has so many fabulous alphabet sets from which to choose!  There's just a little bit of the Flower Pattern Background at the bottom of the narrow vertical panel.   A few gems were colored with Copic Markers and added to the card.

Can you believe that it's time to earnestly begin working on Christmas cards?  My second card uses one of Krita Hamrick's new stamp sets, Receive the Savior.

Creative Nugget:  A Brown Tombow Marker was used to color the outline image from the Receive the Savior stamp set which was stamped on a piece of Mixed Media paper.  A water color brush was used to pull the brown ink into the image.  Other Tombow colors were scribbled onto an acrylic block, picked up with the brush, and painted onto the image as well.  The background panel was created with the same Tombow markers applied to an acrylic block, spritzed with water, and smeared onto another piece of mixed media paper.  I even found some non-traditional Christmas papers in my stash that were a perfect match for a few of the layers!

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

My thoughts and prayers are for the people along the coast, especially in Florida.
Thanks so much for stopping by…have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

Keep In Touch

Hello friends, and for those of you in the U.S., happy 4th of July weekend!  I have two cards to share with you today that are perfect for keeping in touch.

The first card is made with a stamp set being featured this week at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Keep In Touch.

Creative Nugget:  Since the elements in the stamp set are vintage in nature, I decided to make this card a little Shabby Chic by adding a shabby bow, distressing the edges, and stitching the panels together.  The colors were inspired by The Card Concept Challenge for this week and the design by Freshly Made Sketches. The patterned papers came from an Authentique paper pad and were made a little more aged by applying ink to an acrylic block, spritzing it with water, and stamping it directly onto the DP.  A few ink splatters were added with watercolor paints.  The images on the card are from the Keep In Touch stamp set and were cut with the matching Keep In Touch Dies.  A few postage marks from the Parisian Postcard stamp set were lightly stamped and pearls added in the corner to finish the card.

The second card has a completely different look and was made using the Splitcoaststampers Sketch for this week.

Creative Nugget:  All the stamps and dies used on this card are from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  The poppies are from the Mini Flower Blocks 3 stamp set and were colored with Copic Markers and cut with a Spellbinders Square Nestie.  The Anna Griffin Poppy embossing folder was perfect for the background.  The sentiment is from Keep in Touch, the featured stamp set for this week, and was cut with the edge of one of the Decorative Plaques Dies.  The Majestic Monarch was colored with Copic Markers and cut with the matching Monarch Die.  The panels were stitched together and a bow and pearls were added to finish the card.

Here are the products from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store used to make both cards:

  • Here are two samples made with this wonderful new set:
Creative Nugget:  The card front was made by stitching panels of Webster's Pages DP to True Black card stock and mounting it to a Vintage Cream card base.  The grunge frame was stamped right on the DP and cut with a Spellbinders Rectangle Nestie.  Matching dies made mounting the typewriter and hand images a snap.  One of the sentiments was stamped on a little note which was slipped into a slit that was cut in the top of the typewriter.  A seam binding bow and pearls finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  Panels of My Mind's Eye and Solar Crest card stock were stitched to Smokey Shadow card stock and mounted to a Smokey Shadow card base.  A little scalloped border from the Bookmarks & More Die Set separates the panels on the top layer. The phones were die cut and stamped with colors found in the DP. The phones were cut again out of Smokey Shadow and off set a little to create depth.  One of the sentiments from the set was added as well as some Baker's Twine and a button to finish the card.
