Friday, August 29, 2008 HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY! :D it was sorta great today except that there were orals -__- brought a total of 3 cakes today. 1 super big sized and two normal sized ones. had programmes in the hall followed by class party! :D had chinese orals after the party :/ totally screwed it up. got the third teacher. i thought conversation section could save me but i misinterpreted the question. no wonder she was smiling away -__- went back to kellock after that with qm, doro and sq and saw them :D xx and jx didnt come though): jx has cca while xx has something on and meg refuses to come -__- check out the tile that i made when i was p3. hahah. tried to find mrs kuan but apparently she went out to treat her students :/ pt and i saw mrs chia(: and it was such a miracle she remembered my name although she taught me in p4 o_o went to the gym and fooled around. pt came to visit gg and taffy and she went home at 5+. so we had npcc farewell on monday. i got hit pretty bad by flour and water bombs -__- was white in the beginning and drenched in the next. class and cca phototaking was on tuesday. been bballing these days. i dont know why but i feel super lethargic and all when i play): i want to regain my usual self :/ perharps i've been sleeping late. my holiday schedule is almost filled up now. im gonna use whatever remaining time i have to go bball, cycle, jog, skip, exercise, exercise and more exercise :D zero to hero tomorrow. Sunday, August 24, 2008 so the olympics bball results are finalised! :D USA totally owned the gold spots man. the men's bball results: USA: 118 vs ESP: 107 so USA won :D Dwyane Wade had 27 points, Kobe Bryant had 20 points and Lebron James had 14 points. the women's bball results: USA: 92 vs AUS: 65 so USA won again :D their score is like 8 wins 0 loses for both genders. uber cool. its been raining so much these few days i cant bball): so i sort of played in the rain today. my mood wasnt great either so it helped a bit i guess. sigh. why must things end up this way. why did i make that decision. i tried and failed. will there be any chance to mend it? i just dont know. oh well. Lee, whose real name is Park Sang-min, was on his way home after attending a party celebrating the end of his KBS drama "Choi Kang Chil-woo'' (Mighty Chil-woo). He was riding his motorcycle when he hit a railing of the elevated roadway in Hannam-dong, Yongsan at around 2 a.m. The 27-year old actor died on the spot and was taken to Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Hannam-dong, Seoul. It is a story of a man and an older woman who ran off to live and love each other in peace for over half a century. The 70-year-old Chinese man who hand-carved over 6,000 stairs up a mountain for his 80-year-old wife has passed away in the cave which has been the couple's home for the last 50 years. Over 50 years ago, Liu Guojiang a 19 year-old boy, fell in love with a 29 year-old widowed mother named Xu Chaoqin. In a twist worthy of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, friends and relatives criticized the relationship because of the age difference and the fact that Xu already had children. At that time, it was unacceptable and immoral for a young man to love an older woman. To avoid the market gossip and the scorn of their communities, the couple decided to elope and lived in a cave in Jiangjin County in Southern Chong Qing Municipality. In the beginning, life was harsh as hey had nothing, no electricity or even food. They had to eat grass and roots they found in the mountain, and Liu made a kerosene lamp that they used to light up their lives. Xu felt that she had tied Liu down and repeatedly asked him, 'Are you regretful? Liu always replied, 'As long as we are industrious, life will improve.' In the second year of living in the mountain, Liu began and continued for over 50 years, to hand-carve the steps so that his wife could get down the mountain easily. Half a century later in 2001, a group of adventurers were exploring the forest and were surprised to find the elderly couple and the over 6,000 hand-carved steps. Liu Ming Sheng, one of their seven children said, 'My parents loved each other so much, they have lived in seclusion for over 50 years and never been apart a single day. He hand carved more than 6,000 steps over the years for my mother's convenience, although she doesn't go down the mountain that much.' The couple had lived in peace for over 50 years until last week. Liu, now 72 years, returned from his daily farm work and collapsed. Xu sat and prayed with her husband as he passed away in her arms. So in love with Xu, was Liu, that no one was able to release the grip he had on his wife's hand even after he had passed away. 'You promised me you'll take care of me, you'll always be with me until the day I die, but now you are leaving before me, how am I going to live without you?' Xu spent days softly repeating this sentence and touching her husband's black coffin with tears rolling down her cheeks. In 2006, their story became one of the top 10 love stories from China , collected by the Chinese Women Weekly. The local government have decided to preserve the love ladder and the place they lived as a museum, so that this love story can live forever. cool huh? 'long lost relative' came back from japan. its been really really long. gosh. the last time i met them was 4 years. Saturday, August 09, 2008 HAPPY 43RD BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE! :D HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY GG!(: so we brought her to urban pooch to have dinner yesterday :D like last year, she was really kan chiong and kept barking but we still managed to have our dinner xD there were other dogs there for day/night care and there was this dog who's really huge. perharps the biggest ive ever seen right in front of me. hahaha. see the one with the grey patches? yep thats the one. the one who looks like a panda with ears upright is pretty cute too :D its gg's birthday cake! yes it looks plain but she loves it :D the parade went well yesterday and im glad cos i didnt screw up(: mrs wong said np did well and we looked smart. hahaha. we realised taffy had blue eyes yesterday too O: this is gg's eye colour [usually dogs have this colour]: this is taffy's eye colour: amazing huh? xD i find it really cool. taffy had a haircut today. from a bunch of mess, to a neat fella: hahah. oh this is the picture i took when we went for the fish thing :D does it inspire you to try it? CA2 in 2 weeks, right after ndp -__- gotta mug like mad already. there was NAPFA on thurs. 48 cm for sit and reach (A), 10.38 seconds for shuttle run (A), 12 inclined pull ups (C). im so happy i passed 2.4 and inclined :D i was so afraid i would not be able to make it but i did which is great(: im sorta confident for my sit ups and standing broad jump tmr. i hope i'll get A for both too :D npcc campfire on friday. the skit we did, mr muscle was pretty alright although the audience didnt really get what we were doing but at least everyone tried their best(: thanks to those who made efforts to do up the props :D good work. english tuition on saturday, homed, mum brought us out for dinner at wcp, came home at like 12am, wash up and all till 1am, slept. had CurL this morning, had to wake up at 6am. initially i didnt want to go, but ended up going anyway. missed chem tuition, CurL from 6am - 4pm. did 2 boards only but it was sorta fun :D the weather was murderous though. waited for mum at vivo so long till the extent i stood 2 hours reading books at "PageOne" -__- and because of that i bought two books again :D yay more books to read after my current. ndp rehearsals next week): ndp celebrations next week. about 5 more days to sg's 43rd birthday. tuition after npcc tmr. didnt bball for like 3 days already :/ im feeling it piling up): hvent had enough sleep too :/
