Release Day: RESPECT by Jay Crownover!
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Jay Crownover, comes the next title in her The Breaking Point romantic suspense series, RESPECT. Don’t miss the amazing excerpt below, and order your copy today!
About RESPECT:
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess who called a corrupt kingdom home sweet home.
Protected and sheltered from the worst the world had to offer, she fell in love with the crumbling city that burned and blazed around her. Every dirty corner, every scary shadow, found a place within her heart. So did a man who was violent and dangerous, just like the streets she claimed as her own.
He was all business and brutality, except when it came to her. With her, he was calm, caring, and heartbreakingly patient.
He warned her over and over that he wasn't the man for her, but she refused to listen. She never expected either the streets or their enforcer to hurt her, since she'd given her heart so completely to both.
She should have known the streets in the Point were always going to be savage, and so was the man committed to keeping control of them in the hands of criminals and bloody kingpins.
Blindsided by a betrayal which cut so deeply she was sure the wounds would never heal, the princess fled the home she loved and the man who broke her heart. Throwing away her rusted, twisted crown was supposed to help her forget. All it did was make her long for everything she left behind. She told herself she would never go back, but in this tormented kingdom, family is everything. Eventually, she has no choice but to return.
While she was gone, the people who loved her worked hard to make the city safe, and the man who destroyed her sank deeper into the darkness. Going back shouldn't feel like surrender... but it does. As this pretty princess hovers on the edge of the unknown, the past attacks with a vengeance. It's a good reminder that puppy love eventually grows up and turns into something with sharp teeth and one hell of a bite.
She never asked for the keys to the kingdom. She'd much rather go out and build her own.

EXCERPT: ~Karsen~ I had no plans to leave the Point. It was ugly, mean, hard, and unforgiving, but these streets were home and I couldn’t imagine being happy anywhere else. This place had long since made my hands and the edges of my soul dirty. It was something I would be hard-pressed to hide should I go anywhere else. I’d have to spend my days trying to camouflage the filth I was so familiar with. Here, no one looked twice at the pretty teenager with shadows in her eyes and blood on her hands. I was one of many. I wasn’t interested in leaving behind my sister or her fiancĂ©, Race. We were an odd, dysfunctional family, but we made it work. I didn’t want to be too far away from my mother, who was living in a group home as she slowly, painfully tried to recover from her alcoholism and PTSD from an accident she caused that ended up taking the life of a young mother and her child. But more than anything, I absolutely didn’t want to leave him. I couldn’t imagine a day going by without catching a glimpse of Noah Booker. I mean, he was impossible to miss. Six-and-a-half-feet tall, body built like a professional athlete, dark and brooding with the prettiest gunmetal-gray eyes, he was the entirety of every one of my teenage fantasies. I barely noticed the jagged scar dividing one side of his face. White and raised, it cut one of his black eyebrows in half, slashed over a high cheekbone, and ended somewhere under the chiseled edge of his hard jaw. He never talked about it, but Race, Booker’s boss, let it slip that Booker got the scar when he was locked up. Or maybe it wasn’t as much of a slip-up as a thinly veiled warning. Race never kept it much of a secret that my infatuation with his massive, dangerous, ex-con enforcer made him extremely uncomfortable. He’d warned me over and over again that Booker wasn’t for me. And he’d made it clear to the man who broke knees and smashed heads for a living that he was to stay as far away from me as possible. They called it puppy love. It wasn’t. To me, it was a vicious kind of love, filled with teeth and claws that I could feel digging at my insides every single time someone patted me on the head and told me how young I was, how much life I had yet to live. This love was rabid, and I was tired of having it on a leash. I wanted to let it free, wanted to let it sink its razor-sharp fangs into the man who had awoken the primal need inside of me. It was only fair he felt the same kind of crushing bite and painful pressure around his heart that I did every single day. I was solely focused on getting to Booker. It barely registered I was done with high school and had new doors opening all around me. I couldn’t care less about getting my hands on my diploma. A piece of paper with Karsen Carter written on it in pretty calligraphy meant exactly nothing to me. The only thing I was focused on was the fact I was finally old enough to make my own choices. And I’d always picked Booker. Over and over again he was my number one priority. And don’t miss the first titles in The Breaking Point series, HONOR and DIGNITY! Grab your copy today!

Review: RECOVERED by Jay Crownover!
The road to recovery is full of twists and turns no matter who is in the driver’s seat.
From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Jay Crownover comes a standalone romance with a hero sure to keep readers up long into the night. Check out the review below and pick up your copy of RECOVERED now!
My Review: Holy. Friggin'. Crap! This book, guys. I'm not sure I have the necessary vocabulary range to properly express how much I LOVED this. Enemies to lovers is a classic tale, but this book is anything but. I've been a fan of Jay Crownover since just before Rome was released, and this book is my new favorite. It is simultaneously both so her, and so new and different and just.. amazing.
Recovered gave me all the feels. It's been a while since a book made me outwardly emote - I might smile now and then, or frown, but it's not so noticeable. I actually had coworkers ask me if I was okay while I was reading this, because my emotions were all over the place... and apparently all over my face. I was moved, to say the least. Affton and Cable are my new favorite Crownover couple, but it's Cable that really steals the show. He's just so... so.. sexy, vulnerable, hurt, and amazing.
Cover Lovin': This might be my favorite Jay Crownover cover yet!
Recommendation: Read it now, now, now!
Final Rating: FIVE out of FIVE stars (5/5)!!! Seriously, this might be my new favorite Jay Crownover book. Buy it now!
It was hate at first sight......
Affton
I hated Cable James McCaffrey.
He was entitled, spoiled, a user…and an addict.
He was out of control and didn’t bother trying to hide it.
He had everything anyone could want but still seemed miserable and lost.
Every move he made, every mistake he stumbled his way through, rubbed me the wrong way. However, I couldn’t stop myself from trying to save him from himself when no one else would. In the sweltering heat of the summer, Cable taught me that having it all means nothing if you can’t have the one thing you want more than anything else.
Cable
I was obsessed with Affton Reed.
She was rigid, uptight, and no fun. There was something about her innate goodness that called to me.
She acted like she was above all the normal faults and failures that clung to the rest of us like the scent of smoke after a fire.
I was infatuated with her, but that didn’t stop me from acting like she didn’t exist.
In the scorching heat of summer, Affton taught me that there is always a way back from the brink of despair. She showed me that the trick to having it all was realizing that it was already there, in my hands. All I had to do was hold onto it.
The road to recovery is full of twists and turns no matter who is in the driver’s seat.

Review: SALVAGED by Jay Crownover! EXCERPT included!
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jay Crownover continues her delightfully sexy Saints of Denver series with the next thrilling standalone, SALVAGED! Order your copy today!
My Review: Okay, I'm going to try and refrain from tearing up, because the Marked Men and the Saints of Denver are two of my all-time favorite series. They both have a very prominent place on my keeper shelves - and I'm both happy and heartbroken to see these series come to a close. And what a way to end the series - Wheeler and Poppy's book packs such a huge emotional punch, this really is a case of going out with a bang. I've been eager for Wheeler's book since the character was introduced. Despite being a side character, he quickly became one of my favorites, and this book just solidifies his place in my harem of book boyfriends. He's such an amazing guy, willing to give so much of himself to make the people he cares about happy. His need for a family about broke my heart, I just wanted to give him a huge hug.
Now, I said this book packs an emotional punch, and I'm not kidding. Poppy has had a very, VERY rough life, and it's still haunting her. But that makes her relationship with Wheeler that much sweeter, because it shows how much of a caregiver he is. And on top of that, it shows how strong Poppy is - like it was said in the book, she's a survivor, not a victim. And it's not just the abuse angle that had me nearly in tears - the epilogue(s) at the end.. I almost lost it. After following these characters since their original release (I started reading Jay's books when Rome released, so very near the beginning!), and to see them all together again, living their happily ever afters.. *sniffle*
I can't wait to see where Jay takes us next. I know her Breaking Point series is the next release, and I'm ashamed to say I'm behind in reading the Point and Breaking Point books, so I need to hurry and catch up. And I'm excited to be attending a huge multi-author book signing in August that she will be attending.. so I better start thinking about which of my books I need her to sign!
I can't say enough how much I love this author. If you like your men hot and tattooed.. If you love New Adult Romance... If you just need a book that will make you both sniffle and chuckle, look no further than this.
Cover Lovin': This cover is perfect for Wheeler and Poppy, and fits perfectly with the rest of the series.
Recommendation: Salvaged can be read as a stand-alone, but I suggest reading at least the whole Saints of Denver series, if not the Marked Men as well. There are plenty of characters that cross over.
Final Rating: FIVE out of FIVE stars (5/5)! This was a perfect end to one of my all-time favorite series. I fell in love with Wheeler and Poppy, and their story was everything I could have hoped it would be.
Happy Reading!
~!~ Amanda, Novel Addiction ~!~
Hudson Wheeler is a nice guy. Everyone knows it, including his fiancĂ©e who left him with a canceled wedding and a baby on the way. He’s tired of finishing last and is ready to start living in the moment with nights soaked in whiskey, fast cars, and even faster girls. He’s set to start living on the edge, but when he meets Poppy Cruz, her sad eyes in the most gorgeous face he’s ever seen hook him in right away. Wheeler can see Poppy’s pain and all he wants to do is take care of her and make her smile, whatever it takes.
Poppy can’t remember a time when she didn’t see strangers as the enemy. After a lifetime of being hurt from the men who swore to protect her, Poppy’s determined to keep herself safe by keeping everyone else at arm’s length. Wheeler’s sexy grin and rough hands from hours restoring classic cars shouldn’t captivate her, but every time she’s with him, she can’t help being pulled closer to him. Though she’s terrified to trust again, Poppy soon realizes it might hurt even more to shut Wheeler out—and the intense feelings pulsing through her are making it near impossible to resist him.
The only thing Poppy is sure of is that her heart is in need of some serious repair, and the more time she spends with Wheeler, the more she’s convinced he’s the only man with the tools to fix it.

EXCERPT:
“I don’t know that I have the time to take on a puppy right
now, Poppy.” He lifted a hand and rubbed it across the back of his neck. His
mahogany-colored eyebrows pulled into a vee over the top of his nose and the
corners of his mouth pulled down in a frown that was too harsh for his pretty
face. I liked it much better when he smiled and his twin dimples cut deeply
into his cheeks.
I bit my bottom lip to keep the distressed noise that I
could feel climbing up the back of my throat at bay. I knew he might say no but
I couldn’t hide the fact that I was disappointed by his decision. I honestly
felt like he and the puppy would be good for one another, that they could bring
a little joy into each other’s life. It broke my heart a little that Wheeler
wasn’t ready to open his heart up again, even when it was to something that was
so obviously eager to love him unconditionally and irrevocably, unlike his ex.
“It’s okay, Wheeler. Like I said, I’ll take him home until I
can find a place for him. I’m sure Dolly could use a friend.” I crouched down
and wiggled my fingers to get the dog’s attention, and grinned when he bounded
over, tripping over his front legs as he scrambled in my direction. “I can take
him to work with me and hold on to him until I figure something out. One of the
boys at the shop will step up if Dixie doesn’t want another dog.”
I heard him sigh and looked up to see him watching me
intently. He opened his mouth like he was going to say something, then let it
snap shut with his teeth audibly clicking together. I didn’t know much about
Wheeler, but what I did know I liked. He was nice. He was polite. He was
thoughtful and he was kind. But more than any of those things, he went out of
his way to hold himself in a way that wasn’t threatening or intimidating
because he was aware without me saying a word how jumpy I was around people,
men in particular. I hated that they were bigger than me. I hated that I knew
firsthand how badly they could hurt me if they had a mind to. I hated that I
wilted and cowered under their attention, even if it was innocent and friendly.
The fact that he took care not to spook me spoke volumes and made me feel awful
for putting him in such an awkward position.
“Poppy…” He sounded regretful and I had no interest in
dragging the torture out any longer for either of us. I scooped up the dog and
buried my nose in the top of his head.
“Seriously it’s no big deal. I love him and I’m happy to
wait until I can find him a proper home. It was stupid of me not to consider
how busy you are with everything you have going on in your life right now. A
puppy is a big commitment and that’s not something you can put on someone else
without discussing it with them first.” The dog swiped his tongue across my
face, no doubt feeling my distress and rising panic. I wanted to tuck his warm
little body to my chest and run away like I was trying to score a touchdown in
the other team’s end zone. “I should have known better.”

About Jay Crownover:
Jay Crownover is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Marked Men, The Point, and the Saints of Denver series. Like her characters, she is a big fan of tattoos. She loves music and wishes she could be a rock star, but since she has no aptitude for singing or instrument playing, she'll settle for writing stories with interesting characters that make the reader feel something. She lives in Colorado with her dogs.

Review and Excerpt: MACKENZIE FAMILY NOVELLAS!
One novel and four novellas promise to take readers back into New York Times bestselling author Liliana Hart’s MacKenzie Family with hot and steamy stories readers are sure to lose themselves in. Delve into the world you all know and love, and grab your copies today!
My Review: So, I will admit. I'm one of those people who have never read the Mackenzie books. They've been on my list for ages, I'm just way behind the times I guess. That said, I was eager for these novellas to come out, because it would give me a chance to check out the world, and because some authors I love were participating. What a winning situation! Favorite authors, new authors, and a new world to explore. And this was an awesome experience. Everything I read was fantastic, and I can't wait to check out more.
As my post promo materials are highlighting Avenged by Jay Crownover (an absolute favorite of mine!), I figure I will talk about that book specifically. Jay has teased her readers with hints about this book - we knew it would feature someone from the Saints of Denver series meeting someone from the Point series, but no names were mentioned. I'm not very familiar with the Point series since I haven't picked that series up yet, but I loved this crossover all the same. And I am living proof that you can read this just fine without any prior knowledge or history. It was such a good read, and packs such a huge punch for such a short book.
Cover Lovin': They're all awesome!
Recommendation: You can pick these up with no prior knowledge! But trust me, you'll want to learn more about the MacKenzies.
Final Rating: FOUR out of FIVE stars (4/5)! Awesome reading, right here.
A Letter from Liliana Hart: Dear Readers, I’m thrilled to announce the MacKenzie Family World is returning! I asked four of my favorite authors to create their own characters and put them into the world you all know and love. These amazing authors revisited Surrender, Montana, and through their imagination you’ll get to meet new characters, while reuniting with some of your favorites. These stories are hot, hot, hot and packed with action and adventure—exactly what you’d expect from a MacKenzie story. It was pure pleasure for me to read each and every one of them and see my world through someone else’s eyes. They definitely did the series justice, and I hope you discover four new authors to put on your auto-buy list. Make sure you check out Spies and Stilettos, a brand new, full-length MacKenzie novel written by me. This will be the final installment of the MacKenzie series, featuring Brady Scott and Elena Nayal. After eighteen books of my own and nine books written by other bestselling authors in the MacKenzie World, it’s going to be difficult to say goodbye to a family I know as well as my own. Thank you for falling in love with the MacKenzies. So grab a glass of wine, pour a bubble bath, and prepare to Surrender. Love Always, Liliana Hart

Excerpt:
She might be Snow White, but there was no way in hell I was anything close to Prince Charming, or any fairytale prince, for that matter. Hell, I wasn’t even the Huntsman that showed mercy and refused to end an innocent life. I was more along the lines of the Big Bad Wolf. I lay in wait for my prey, ready to pounce, all while wearing a civilized front that very few could see through. I had sharp teeth and even sharper claws and I’d been using both for as long as I could remember.
The old me would eat this girl up without a second thought. I would have left her to her fate in the snow. I was impressed as hell with the way she popped up to her feet, with all types of adorable indignation and sexy pride radiating off of her, even though she was obviously hurting and about to fall over.
I was the old me as recently as this morning.
I was the old me until I looked in the mirror after my shower and finally took the time to examine the still-healing slice across my throat. In a rare moment of clarity, I realized how close I had come to meeting my maker. The wound had been there, healing for months, but today was the day I really saw it and realized I no longer wanted to be the kind of man that deserved to have his throat slit open every time he was distracted and not on the defense. There was no way I would have a halo waiting for me on the other side; I had known that for a long time. It was always bound to be horns and a tail for me because I’d been actively courting my own corner in hell for as long as I could remember. I was the guy that had waterfront property on the lake of fire but I no longer wanted to watch the world burn. Those flames got too close and they were leaving scars on more places than my neck.
I wasn’t a guy that deserved a second chance.
I wasn’t a guy that deserved redemption.
I wasn’t a guy that deserved forgiveness.
I wasn’t a guy that deserved compassion or pity.
I wasn’t a guy that should have been rewarded with a shot to redo and retry everything I had done wrong…but I was a guy that was given that shot. And for whatever reason this morning, while I was looking in the mirror, I told myself it was time to stop squandering it.
I could be the guy that deserved forgiveness. I just had to work at it…harder than anyone else ever had.
