Slimline Card Kit With Maja Design's Vintage Autumn Basics

Nice to see you back!

I have always loved slimline cards since I first learned about making them about 10 years ago. It is wonderful to see that they are all the rage in card design now. So I was thrilled to design an entire card kit with all slimline cards.

This post is just showing you the cards that will be in the kit. I believe that they are all spoken for ecept for one kit! And Carol just received them on Friday (3 days ago)!

One thing though, I forgot to take my photos of all the cards like I usually do. I do, however, have the teaser photos I took, and have done the best I could with editing them.

SOLD within a day after posting
This is a large Kit! It has 9 Slimeline cards!
Kit cost is $45. If you wish to grab the last remaining kit, contact Scrapbook Parade here.

These are the nine cards in order as they will appear on the printed instructions.

So these are the cards for the Maja Design "Vintage Autumn Basics" Slimline card kit.

See you next time for a post with more detailed photos to accompany the instructions for this kit. Remember, there is only one left!

Happy creating!

Photo Details - Square Card Kit Using Maja Design's Little Street Cafe

Hello Ladies!

A big thank you to all those that purchased this kit from me & Scrapbook Parade! This post will share additional photos in helping you put your cards together. I am going to go through them in the same order as what you have on your written instructions.

Card #1 - The only Shabby Chic card in this set.

Video Demo on how to TEAR YOUR SQUARE into 2 pieces.

So those are all the views of the completed card. Now for a little video on how to tear the mauve floral square.

Card #2

Card #3

TO START MAKING THE CARD, YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE 'THE WAVE' AS I CALL IT. HERE IS THE VIDEO SHOWING YOU HOW TO DO THAT.

The banner you see here (above) is for stamping you sentiment on. In the instructions I mention that you should stamp it before attaching it to the card.

In the photo below you can better see the layering on the bottom right corner of the card.

Card #4

This card involves colouring with three colours of pencil crayons; whilte, olive green & yellow. The first images are of the steps I took in colouring. When colouring on dark cardstock you want to always use white first, and then add the colours on top.

(Sorry about the lighting, I did this in the evening)

Now for the completed card photos.

...and other views.

Card #5 (Last one)

This one you will need a bunch of scraps, so be sure to keep some.

I hope these photos are a help to you as you put your cards together. If not let me know in the comment section below.

The next KIT is again using Maja Design paper - Autumn Basics - to make a set of the popular slimline cards. You might ask, "How can you make a 4"w x 9"h card using 6" x 6" paper?" It can be done!

Till next time, HAPPY CREATING!

Shabby Chic Christmas Kit #2 - Maja Design 'Holiday in the Alps'

Welcome Back Everyone!

This has been quite a week! Well maybe two weeks. I had let Carol know that I needed to slow down a bit with everything I have currently on my plate. But then, I believe it was Saturday the 15th, I was suddenly in the mood to make cards! Can I squeeze it in? Well, I did. And, I had a blast. You saw the last post of three partly completed cards.

Well, once Carol started show casing them, everyone was excited to get this kit too. So I had to keep going, and gratefully, my creative mood continued and I was able to squeeze making these cards into my schedule. You know how it is; you always make time for what you really feel like doing.

So, this kit consists of different sized cards. They are close to size of the old traditional European cards (3 1/2"W x 6"H) And, on the envelope punch board, there is even an envelope you can make for this size card. However, with the thickness of these cards, they wouldn't fit into a regular envelope. So, I am once again going to create a box for these cards and post a FREE TUTORIAL for that sized card box.

There are three gatefold cards and three regular fold cards in this kit.

On to showing you the cards, and giving you the information to purchase this kit. I believe, as of today, there are only 3 kits left!

The following was posted on the Scrapbook Parade Facebook page:

Here are all 6 cards in our 2nd Christmas Card Kit using Maja's "Holiday in the Alps" Collection designed by Sabrina -- absolutely beautiful!!!
This kit is $40 and there are only 2 left...
This time we have a kit shipping to Montana as well as France and PEI again. So exciting!

So with 2 kits left, they'll be goon soon.

The next post will be for the card box that will fit this size card, and the one after that will be the detail photos and a little video to go with the instructions. It will be much shorter this time; I promise.

So in the meantime, Happy crafting & card making!

Christmas In July Shabby Chic Card Kit - Close Up Photos & Tutorials!

Hi, & Welcome Back!

This is a real long post! If you are not working on the cards from this kit, you may wish to grab a cool refreshing drink and enjoy scrolling through and see the tutorial/s.

This is the first time that I have created a Shabby Chic set of cards for a kit. There are a lot of products used for this style of card. (See list on Kit post here) In the instructions, the cards are numbered, so I will post them here in the same numerical order.

CARD #1

Just the card...

I used the NUVO Glimmer Paste Moonshine on this card and did not use it on the rest of the cards. It looked too pasty even after it dried.

Now for the other views.

Now for a closer look at the little gift tag.

CARD #2

There is a technique I will show you, on the video, on how to tear your pattern paper and mat paper at the same time so that the mat will have a similar border edge when put together.

Now for the card only.

And of course the close ups...

For the gift tag...

CARD #3

The card on it's own...

Check out the details on these close ups...

The little gift card, too!

So much fun! Right?

CARD #4

Do you notice the flourish stencil paste? We will colour the paste, and I will demonstrate on the video, 2 different ways to do this.

Let's see the card by itself, shall we?

I love the European look of this card. Not only the image of Father Christmas, but the heat embossed and colour stamped cookies that are from Altenew.

Let's check out more details.

I love hoe the cookies and tags are hanging. Makes it more fun.

And now for the tag...

OK. Time for...

CARD #5

Another Father Christmas card! With my parents having come from Germany before I was born, I am partial to the European Father Christmas.

Here is just the card on it's own.

I love the treatment I did on the upper left corner! I think you'll like it too. Let's have a closer look at the card.

And now for the gift tag...

Cute little bunnies!

At first I was a little disappointed that the red bit os frayed cardstock got caught in the paste. But once it dried, and the colour ran a bit into the paste, it reminded me of Christmas peppermints, and it didn't bother me so much. If you don't want that, be sure to brush off the distressed paper bits real well before putting on your paste.

Now for the last card.

CARD #6

I found some flowers that pass off for Christmas roses! I enjoyed the challenge of making my own paper straws for this card. I plan on did it again for future Shabby Chic cards.

The card on it's own.

OK, last of the detail photos.

I also love blues and greys for Christmas cards. So this was the perfect paper collection for me! Hope you like it too.

Lastly, the gift tag.

Well, that's it for this Shabby Chic Christmas Card Kit! Hope you love the paper as much as I do.

Now, if you purchased the kit and would like some further help and instructions, I am including a video here for you. There will be some product review, some tips, and showing you how to on this video.

Sorry for the delay in getting the video posted. It turns out that my 4 year old laptop is too old to get it up onto YouTube! Can you believe that? It was my Mom's laptop before she passed 3 years ago, and I do not have the needed password, etc., to update the laptop.

Any way, I finally was able to correct the problem using one of the family computers. I was relieved, because I was not certain it could be done after all the work put into the video.

Please be sure to leave comments down below, and let me know which of these 6 cards is your absolute favourite, and if the video/s were helpful to you.

Happy Shabby Chic creating!
