lengthening magic wand!!! Marcelle Volume precision mascara * a review *

Hey lovelies,

How is everyone doing this beautiful Saturday?? I am doing great! I spend a wonderful day at home with my lovely family, ordered some take out and relaxed pretty much all day. =)
I am here today with a mascara review, last week-end I went mascara hunting and stumbled across this awesome sale at Lawton that I couldn't pass up. I got two, oh yeah you heard right, two Marcelle Volume precision mascara for five dollars.
These babies usually retails for 11$ each so at 5$ for two I thought I should give them a try.

My last marcelle purchase was a total fail so I didn't have high hopes for this mascara but since Marcelle is a well known quality makeup and skincare Canadian brand I thought it deserved a second chance.

From Marcelle's website:

Volume Precision, the longwearing mascara by Marcelle, ensures buildable volume and definition like you’ve never experienced before.
Its ultra-flexible polymer brush with microchambers seizes lashes one by one, without clumps. The bristles come in variable lengths and are cleverly aligned to ensure clean, precise definition.
Enriched with olive oil and rice bran wax, the revitalizing lightweight gel formula provides maximal volume without any heavy feeling.
Hypo-allergenic and perfume free.

Above is a  photo of the wand, Marcelle Volume Precision comes with a flexible polymer wand.
At first I wasn't sure about the "flexible" wand but after using it multiple times I noticed that it makes reaching those hard to reach lashes easy.
I love how the bristles are very short, it helps with the application of mascara to the bottom lashes.

This mascara comes in two shades, black and dark brown.
My first thoughts when I applied this mascara was, man is it ever runny, but after the messy first application it dried up pretty quick. My first application was a little messy but I blame it on the wand...lol The second application was squeaky-clean. :P

This mascara claims to gives volume, I didn't notice volume to be honest but the lengthening power was like magic!!! I have never seen my lashes this long before, I was in shock...lol
The lasting power is great, nothing to falls head over heels for but it's ok.
Other than the lengthening power and precision wand, I LOVE how lightweight it feels, it seriously feel like I am wearing no makeup at all.

Here are a few snapshots of the mascara in action:

The photo above is just to show how flexible the wand is.
Like I said earlier in the post I noticed a great difference in the length of my lashes and not so much in the volume that might be because after the first application it starts to clump.

You are probably wondering if it's waterproof eh? Well it doesn't say anywhere on the tube if it's waterproof or not but I didn't noticed any kind of "smudging", my mascara stayed in place throughout the day and washing it off was a piece of cake.
I can't promise you that it will stay in place if you go swimming but if you rub your eyes off because of cat allergies it will not get messy and you will not look like a raccoon. :P

Overall I like this mascara. I have seen better ones out there but it should work magic for the ones with short lashes.
The only downfall is the "volume" effect is not really present with this mascara and that is what I usually look for in a mascara but I do enjoy batting my long "Marcelle Volume precision mascara" lashes.

Well that is all for now,

Stop painting your lashes... Tube them! Blinc mascara *a review*

Hey lovelies,

I am here today with a mascara review. A few months ago, I won a contest on Glymm's facebook page for a mystery box (see post HERE), included in my box was the Blinc mascara.
This mascara wasn't love at first sight, but I decided to give it another try and give you guys a full review on my thoughts.

I receive this mascara in the shade black which is prefect because I only use black mascaras.
I was really happy when I first saw this in my mystery box because I was in desperate need of a new mascara.
I gave it a try, didn't like it a single bit and tossed it aside.
Last month I ran out completely and decided to give it one last chance, FAIL!

Here is some info taken from Blinc's website:
"Formerly known as Kiss Me, blinc is the original mascara invented to form tiny water-resistant "tubes" around your lashes rather than painting them like conventional mascaras. Once applied, these beauty tubes bind to your lashes and cannot run, smudge, clump, or flake, even if you cry or rub your eyes. Whether your daily activities take you from the office, to your sweaty workout and then out to dinner, your lashes will look as good in the evening as they did when you first applied blinc in the morning."

It is true, blinc mascara is not going anywhere... It will stay where it is not matter what you do.
Blinc claim that this mascara can be easily removed without the help of harsh eye makeup remover.
It was such a pain to remove.. They claim that the mascara "tubes" will slide right off..
When came time to remove the mascara I tried to gently "slide" them off but it didn't work that way.  This mascara was super glued to my lashes and removing it cost me few lashes.... NOT GOOD.

The first thing I noticed about this mascara was how runny it is, it truly is like no other mascara.
It does give a bit of volume but nothing major plus it gathers a bunch of lashes together making it appear as if you lost a bunch of lashes during some kind of rough battle.
Messy to use and takes a long time to dry completely.
I didn't like the Wand either, it didn't distribute the product evenly.

Blinc mascara retails for $25 (USD) and let me tell you that the 1$ mascara from elf works miracles compare to this fellow.
The only pros I could come up with is the fact that it is waterproof and smudge-free.
Cons, well I rather not list them...  The list is too long.... sigh*

 Will I repurchase? NEVER
Do I recommend? NO!

Well that is all for now,

Stila Convertible Mascara ** A review **

Hey lovelies,

Today I am going to review this Mascara "Stila - Convertible mascara" that I recently purchased.
I came across this mascara at my local winners a few weeks ago and decided to buy it for 2 reasons:
1- I was in desperate need of a new mascara (old one dried out),
2- I was intrigued by the 2 wands.
Plus buying it at winners that day saved me a trip to the mall... :)

This is a discontinued product and can no longer be purchased on Stila's website but I was able to find it online. (Amazon)
I found two sellers on Amazon that had these in stock and sells them for $24.99
Luckily for me, I only paid $12.99

How to use:
The large brush is used for the top lashes and the small one to coat the bottom lashes.

Wiggle the wand at the root of the lashes to separate and coat the lashes at the last line.

PACKAGING:
Love , love , love....
Simple, practical, and sturdy.. What more can you ask for?
The double wand is a genius idea if you ask me.... I wish Stila would bring it back to the market.
If the large wand doesn't get all the lashes the smaller one will...

MY thoughts:
I love this mascara.... It does wonders for my lashes.
What baffles me about it,  is that it's waterproof (TESTED!!! Went swimming and it stayed in place) but it can be easily removed with a damp cloth.
Strange but I am not complaining ... I often have issues with waterproof mascaras not being able to wash it off completely.
I have a few photos of the Mascara in ACTION.

No mascara.
One coat.
Two coats.

The good and the Bad:

The good:
- Long lasting,
- Waterproof / Smudge-proof,
- Easy to wash off,
- Comes with 2 wands,
- lengthening and defines the lashes.

The bad:
- Discontinued...
Yep, this is all I could come up with.

Overall, This is a wonderful mascara. I have no idea what the original retail price was but I can justify paying $12.99 for this.
Will I re-purchase?? depends... I will not purchase this on Amazon for $24,99 but If I can find it cheaper I will yes.
Do I recommend?? Absolutely!!

Thanks for reading,

Great Products at great prices! 1 - 2$ DEALS !!!

Hey Everyone,

I thought I'd share with you 3 great products that comes with a tiny price tag.

#1 - L.A. COLORS 5 color metallic Eyeshadow
These "5 eyeshadow" pallets sells for roughly $2 each. I got mine at a HairSalon ( I think it was a salon .. hehe) in Rimouski,QC. They can be purchased on ebay for $1.92 +shipping.
These pallets are really great, I would willingly pay more then 2$ for them.
Such great selection of colors to choose from.
Quality shadows, very pigmented and long lasting.
BIG BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!

#2 - E.L.F - Lengthening & defining Mascara
This mascara sells for a 1$ on E.L.F's website +shipping of course. I got mine at Zellers in a "holiday eye edition" I receive this mascara, eyelash curler, trio eyeshadow pallet and a eye liner for $4 +tax.
This mascara is really great, I have been using it for the past 2 weeks now and have no complain whatsoever.
It's not waterproof but it doesn't run like most "waterproof" mascara I used before. It stays on all day, giving the illusion of fuller eyelashes and is easily removed (unlike others).
BIG BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!

#3 - Pearl white eyeliner (no name)
I have no clue what the brand of this pencil is but it ROCKS! I purchase this on ebay about 10 months ago for $1 (free shipping). After browsing ebay, I saw multiple for sale at $1.50 (free shipping) for 2 pieces.
Just search for "pearl white eyeliner" on ebay's search bar.
I use this eyeliner mainly as a face illuminator. It works great!!!
BIG BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!

I love products that works great at such low price.!! ( so does my wallet hehe )
Do you ever get your hands on quality makeup for super cheap?? If so please share :)

** None of these products were purchase on sale.
