E.L.F Studio Flawless Finish Foundation * a review *

Hey lovelies,

I am here today with a liquid foundation review, the elf's studio Flawless finish foundation.
This is what it looks like:

Product description: ( from elf's website )
Achieve a flawless complexion with the silky smooth e.l.f studio flawless finish foundation. The lightweight and oil-free formula blends in naturally for a beautiful semi-matte finish. This liquid foundation applies easily and lasts all day for visibly brighter and radiant looking skin. Using our flawless finish foundation not only restores uneven skin textures and tones, but msot importantly, the SPF 15 protects your skin against harmful sun damage!

Availability:
Elf studio flawless finish foundation is available on elf's website ( http://eyeslipsface.com ). In Canada, some elf products can be found at various Zellers and winners locations.

Shade / price:
Elf's studio flawless finish foundation comes in 6 different shades and retails for $6 (USD) per 0.8oz.

Features:
- Shade: Sand,
- Foundation: liquid,
- Size: 0.8oz,
- Pump bottle.

Aplication:
Efl's studio flawless finish foundation is very liquid (runny) and dries quickly which makes it very difficult to apply evenly.
I found that using a stipple brush is the best way to apply this foundation.

Wear:
The lasting power of this foundation is very remarkable, it stays in place all day without the help of a primer. ( Althought I don't use it without a powder finish so maybe on it's own it won't last as long. ) The foundation felt heavy and left my skin feeling oily which is odd because my skin is more on the dry side.

Pros:
- Budget friendly,
- Pump bottle,
- Decent coverage,
- long lasting,
- SPF 15.

Cons:
- Not many shades to choose from,
- left my skin feeling oily,
- Hard to blend,
- felt heavy,
- strong smell,
- Swatches from elf's website are extremely OFF.

Overall review:
Overall , this is an OK foundation. This liquid foundation offers a decent coverage and comes with a pump. I dislike how hard it is to achieve an even look and it dries on blotchy. I picked out the wrong shade from e.l.f's website :( I decided to go with "sand" which is the second lightest shade to choose from. I don't have fair skin but my skin is light so I opted for the second lightest, turns out "sand" is way too dark for my skin tone, I should have choosen "porcelain" instead. :( The swatches on elf's website are always extremely Off, a swatch google search before I purchase is always a must.
I will not re-purchase this foundation, I didn't do anything good for my skin.
I give Elf's Studio flawless finish foundation 2,5 out of 5.

That is all for today,
Thanks for stopping,

Elf - studio matte lip color / coral * a review *

Hey lovelies,

How is everyone doing this glorious Friday?? Great I hope. :)
Today I am going to review elf's matte lip color in the shade coral.

Product description: (from elf's website)
This convenient jumbo sized lip pencil creates exact color application with twist up ease so you never have to sharpen. The pigment rich color glides on effortlessly and easily to provide long lasting matte color. The enriched Vitamin A, C & E formula moisturizes and hydrates lips for beautiful healthy looking lips.

Cost: Elf's matte lip color retails for $3 each on elf's website and available in 6 different shades.

pigmentation: elf's matte lip color in the shade coral offers a great pigmentation and very buildable.
Here is a swatch for you:

Wear: This lip color is not long lasting. It will leave residues to anything your lips makes contact with.

Application: goes on smoothly but difficult to apply evenly. The pencil form helps create a precise application.

Packaging: elf's matte lip color comes in a jumbo sized lip pencil with a twist tip to distribute product. This lip pencil comes with a sharpener at the end.

Pros:
- great pigmentation,
- budget friendly,
- comes with a sharpener.

Cons:
- easily rubs off,
- not moisturizing,
- settles in cracks,
- hard to apply evenly.

Overall review:
Overall this is a great matte lip pencil for the price. Very matte to the application and extremely pigmented, a little goes a long way. Glides on smoothly but takes a little effort to apply evenly. Like all matte lip products it is best to use on smooth lips, if used on dry/chapped lips product will settle in cracks. One thing I noticed, this lip pencil is not moisturizing at all.

Tip: Swatches on elf's website are extremely off, I recommend to google swatches for true color.

Well that is all for now, Be back later tonight with a NOTD post :)
HAPPY FRIDAY everyone,

I am here today with a NOTD post. I did this manicure last night but it was late so I decided to wait til morning to post it. For this Manicure I used two of Cult nails polishes and one elf.
So here it is:

For this manicure I used:

Some of you probably heard about the cult nails art contest. I am still debating whether or not I should participate.. -_- What are your thoughts?? Do you think this manicure is "art contest material" ??
I find it to be on the not very original side. :(
If I do participate, which photo should I use??
I could really use your help!!!! your feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Oh and if you would be interested in a tutorial please let me know in the comment box below, it probably has been done before but I would be more than happy to show you guys how I did it and how simple it was to pull off. :)

Step by Step Leopard Nail tutorial ** Warning Image Heavy **

Hey lovelies,

Tonight, I prepared a little tutorial post on a very popular nail design.
A tutorial for leopard nail manicure has probably been done before but since I haven't seen one yet, I decided to do it.
If something is not clear or you have any questions, Please ask below in the comment section.

Now lets start shall we...
For this manicure you will need at least 3 different color nail polish.
( I choose a neutral, a brown and a black ) but you chooses whatever color your heart desire.
Also you will need a Nail art pen OR a tooth pick.
(I usually use my nail art pen for this manicure but tonight I tried with a simple tooth pick and it works just as well.)

Step 1:
First thing you will want to do is paint all of your nails with your main color. ( Mine is the neutral )
what I used: I opted for the shade "Tickle my France" from OPI.

Step 2:
Now that your main color is dry, Make dots with a second color.
It's fine if your dots aren't exactly the same size/shape, animals prints aren't perfect anyways.
what I used:  For my dots, I decided to go with a brown shade, I used "Bronzed to perfection" from OPI.

 Step 3:
With the help of a tooth pick (or your art pen) Draw short lines on both side of each dots.
It doesn't have to be perfect...
To save yourself the mess, I recommend you add a little polish onto a piece of paper. ( Dipping your tooth pick in your nail polish bottle might be a little messy ) :P
What I used: I used a black nail polish from Elf

 Step 4: (this is optional)
If you're like me and find the empty spots in between the dots annoying, Add tiny dots to fill them up to your preferences.

Voila!! Simple right?!!? Will be you be trying this manicure on yourself if you haven't already?!!?
If you do please share :)

Hope this helped,

Comme3pommes,
