May Arts and Helmar Blog Hop Day One

Welcome to the first day of the May Arts and Helmar blog hop! You should have arrived here from Jen Matott's blog, but if you just stumbled across this post, you may want to start at Charlene Drigg's blog, so you don't miss a thing! The May Art Ribbonistas have teamed up with Helmar's Design Team to inspire you this holiday season. Please leave a comment on any of the stops along the way, and you will be entered to win May Arts Ribbon and Helmar Adhesives!

I had this large wooden dimensional Christmas tree from Kaisercraft that I wanted to glitz up a bit.

I painted it liberally with Helmar's Craft and Hobby PVA glue, and then sprinkled it with glitter (and yes, I am still sparkling and problably will be months from now!)

After my glue and glitter was all dry, it was time for my ribbon. Lots and lots of ribbon bows made from May Arts 5/8" Sheer Ruffle ribbon.

I used about 10 yards of this ribbon and just tied a single knot in each piece to cover the base of my tree.

I used Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to attach these bows, which worked out perfectly, because there were too many bows to have to wait long for my glue to dry!

So here is the finished product!

I hope you are enjoying Day One of this hop.  Now you need to head on to Carisa Zgloblicki's blog.

And just in case you get lost along the way, here's the rest of today's blogs.

So Long Summer!

A couple of weeks ago, we took one final trip for the summer. It was a beautiful, warm weekend - and we finished it off with a paddle boat ride. I'm actually glad this summer is over - and am looking forward to many wonderful things this fall and beyond!

I used the Mischevious Papers from My Mind's Eye (although this certainly isn't a Halloween layout!) I inked all of the papers with Distress Ink. My flowers were stamped on vellum with the Sweet William set from Our Daily Bread Designs. Then I lightly sprayed them with Helmar Vellum Adhesive, and sprinkled them with glitter. My epoxies were all made with the Epiphany Crafts Studio, so that they matched my patterned papers.
