Delicious Yumminess

I don't even know if that title makes sense.  Anyhow, I'm sure there are a lot of you who enjoy Pinterest.  I know I sure do.  And, while Pinterest is AWESOME, it is a time sucker.  You really have to be careful not to spend hours on that website.  I may or may not have done it myself.  Anyhow, in my browsing time, I've come across a few recipes, that are delicious.  They are easy to make too.  I don't have tons of time for cooking most days.  I thought I would share a few with you.

Jenny's Journey Chicken Rollups:  These are so delicious, though not so healthy, and that is why I forced my children to eat a good salad with the meal.  You stuff crescent rolls with cream cheese, chicken, and cheese.  Yummy!!!

Chicken and Cheese Lasagna Rollups:  (okay apparently I like rolling food)  These are fun and easy to make.  It's a fun spin on regular lasagna.

Crock Pot Mac and Cheese:  Who doesn't love a crock pot meal?  This was yummy and super quick to prepare.

Well those are just a few.  I am going to continue trying out new recipes because it really helps to have a bigger variety of meals.  The same old thing over and over can get really old...like Texas Hash that my mother made ALL the time and we had to eat day after day of left overs.  Seriously, I hated that stuff.  Then, she made it once when I was in college and I was like hey this stuff isn't half bad...if you're not forced to eat it 5 days in a row three weeks out of the month.  But, I digress...

P.S. sorry for no pictures.  I didn't want to use the other people's pictures without permission.  Happy Cooking!

Gearing up for the Big Day

June MemoryWorks Express Kit

Hello there.  I made this card for my husband.  It was his birthday yesterday.  I really love him very much.  I am so lucky to have a wonderful man like him in my life :)  He really makes me happy.  The picture isn't that great, sorry.  We switched coffee, and now I'm all jittery from it.  I couldn't hold the camera straight.  This was the best of the photos I took.  I hate being jittery.

Okay that being said.  Today is a cleaning day for me.  Yesterday nothing was done around the house.  We weren't even here for the entire day.  It all started when the electricity went out.  I was blow drying my hair before church and all of the sudden everything went off.  Electricity was out for about 2hours.  Since we couldn't cook we had to go out for breakfast.  Then, Erik and I did a bit of shopping and had lunch together.  We didn't get home until about 7 pm.  In this time frame, my house went from 0 to 100 on the messiness scale.  With 100 being the highest number available.  The dogs made a nice contribution to the mess as well.

We're getting ready for Thanksgiving around here.  I wanted to share this recipe with you.  It is for Wild-Rice Pilaf with Cranberries and Pecans.  Let me just say that this is an excellent side dish for Thanksgiving.  I hate/despise cranberries.  However in this recipe they are Wonderful!  I also am not a big fan of nuts in my food.  Again in this recipe they are Wonderful!  I am providing you with the link to this recipe.  It is from Martha Stewart's Living.  Follow this link.  That way you can print it out for yourself, rather than having to copy it down on paper.  I swear, your family will rave about this recipe.  Oh, and last year I couldn't find wild rice.  The one jar I found was about 1 cup and it cost $8.00.  So, I just got a wild rice mix instead.  It worked just fine.  Maybe in your neck of the woods wild rice is not so expensive.

Gearing up for the Big Day

JoJo looking a little upset.
Wolfie loves to climb stuff. Sorry for the dark photo and I didn't photoshop it.

Yesterday at lunch for Erik's Birthday.

I just wanted to share a few fall pictures with you. I love the one of Maddox. I didn't crop it, and I should have before I posted, but lack of time did not allow. Yesterday was Erik's 30th Birthday! We went to lunch with the family, and then Erik and I had a nice, quiet evening to ourselves. Okay, I am going to give you a few recipes for some Thanksgiving dishes. I will be making these and hosting at least 20 at my house.
Spinach Artichoke Dip-this is available in My Veteran's Day Post below.
Ham Rollies
1 package of thickly sliced ham
1 package of cream cheese
Green onions
All you do is spread the cream cheese on the inside of the ham. Then put the green onion inside and roll it up. Then slice into 1 inch pieces. Very simple and delicious
There is the link for that one. It is from Martha Stewart
This is also from Martha Stewart and this is the link.
I'm so glad I decided to subscribe to Martha Stewart Living again. It's such a beautiful magazine with a lot of great ideas. The other thing I'm going to do for Thanksgiving is this (also from MS). I am going to make a bunch of leaves from different color paper (green, brown, orange, red, etc.). When people come in they will have to take their leaves and write what they are thankful for on it. Then, I will photograph everyone and make it into a scrapbook layout. I hope this makes sense and if not email me and I will try to do a better job of explaining.
Also, like I said before I am doing the Holidays in Hand course from Jessica Sprague and I will share with you too. I don't know if I will post before Thanksgiving. We are going to be very busy getting the house ready. I have to finish all of my orders and laundry. We are going to have a photoshoot on Tuesday. I can't wait for that. I will let you know how it goes. In the meantime, please enjoy your families, your week, and all that you have to be thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving.
