Happy Birthday to You - Magnolia-licious & Wee Stamps Challenge #2

'All About Boys' is the theme for Challenge #2 at the Magnolia-licious and Wee Stamps Challenge Blog.  Yes, it's time for new one!  Hope you'll come and play with us.  For more details on how to join in the fun, hop over to the challenge blog and while you're there, be inspired by the fabulous cards of my DT Teammates.

Here's the card that I've created for the challenge.

As you can see below, this is actually a window card...and you can see part of the scenery in the back through the window.

The inside of the card looks like this.  I've added a blank panel to write a personal note on.

These are the Magnolia stamps that I used to create the scenes:

- Cool Edwin from the Sweet Rainbow Collection 2011
- Fairytale Summer Background from the Fairytale Collection 2010 (this is actually only half of the actually background image.  I have cut out the rainbow and sky to create the window effect.  If you click on the stamp name above you can see the original image.)

- Edwin With Bike from the Lazy Summer Days Collection 2009
- Bird Background from the Sweet Rainbow Collection 2011

Magnolia stamps--a vast selection of both full-size and mini stamps--are available at Magnolia-licious, Diana's on-line store. If you don't see the particular one you are looking for in the store, contact Diana and ask her if she can bring it in for you.
And newly available at Magnolia-licious are those wonderful Wee Stamps by Sylvia Zet.
Have a look also at the selections of cutting dies also from Magnolia, Memory Box, PoppyStamps, Marianne Design, Cheery Lynn Designs and Joy! Crafts.

Happy Gardening

Hello.

Oh, I finally have a new card to show you.

I had such plans for this past weekend for my card-making, but it turned out to be a total bust. A big fat zero in the output department...LOL. And then there was that little incident of my not being able to find my camera after a wedding party I attended. It was finally found in my brother's car (phew!)--slipped out of my pocket while I was sitting in the back seat. Thank goodness, but it was still a wasted weekend--at least it felt like it.

Okee doke....sorry for my rambling on, but just had to get that off my chest.

Here's my card.

I have used an image called Jimmy and Grandpa Gardening from the In2stamps April Releases Collection. The stamp can be purchased from the In2stamps on-line store here.

I am using this card as my entry to the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge - Week 57 - I have used Emma's wonderful sketch shown to the right here.

ABC Challenge Blog - W is for Weather.

I have made this a general card and did not put any sentiment on it. I can easily add the required sentiment for whichever occasion arises.

I've also used my Prismacolor pencils again to colour the image. I'm enjoying myself experimenting with them, but I do miss my markers.

Except for the 4 tiny brads at the corners, I didn't put any other embellishment. I thought the design of the DP is quite busy that any embellishment would probably get lost in it.

Thanks for stopping my. I do appreciate your visit. Enjoy your week!

Edwin in Pink?

Hello! Happy Friday!

A quick posting here before I have to leave for work. I can't believe I actually finished a card during the weekdays!!! Woo hoo. It's probably because I don't have to add any flower to this one. Yup, it's a male card!

I used this sketch from Sketch Saturday created by Maya for their Week #101.

The card also for the following challenges:
Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 111 - Boyz to Men!
Simon Says - Birthdays/Celebrations
Stamping for the Weekend - A Card for a Male
Stamp Something - Birthday Somethings Challenge

Okay, the colour isn't actually pink, it just looks pink in the picture. The colour combo I was going for was grey and maroon. I just ended up with a very light maroon colour that it looks pink...LOL.

That's it. Thanks so much for visiting. I appreciate it. Appreciate more if you can leave me a comment--who wouldn't...LOL. Ta ta for now.

Balloon bonanza

Hello!

This is a very short posting. Just wanted to show this male birthday card that I've made. The dreaded male card...yikes...so I've kept it very simple.

I've used the sketch that Julee has designed for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge - MOJO128.

This card is also my entry into the following challenges:
Double Dutch Challenge #38 - Boys Only
Roses on Paper Challenge 32 - A card for men or boys
All Sorts Challenge Week 32 - Just for Men
Creative Inspirations Challenge 29 - a Male Card
Creative Card Crew - Celebrations

It's a very colourful card. I don't know who the manufacturer of the DP is. I found the paper in the dollar store and I thought it would be perfect for a birthday card. There was no writing on the back of the paper.

That's all for today. Thanks for visiting. Enjoy what's left of your weekend.

Stamps: Magnolia Heartbreaker Edwin from the Raising the Ceiling Collection (can be purchased form Magnolia-licious).
Tools: EK Success border punch.
Misc.: Making Memories brads, Darice pearl stickers.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Sunday to all!

(Sorry, sorry, I am so... late with this posting. Although this Sunday morning here, it is already in the evening down under. I meant to do this late last night, but I was too tired and fell asleep and of course this morning I overslept. Isn't that just how that usually works? LOL.)

Anyway this a Happy Father's Day Card. Yes, that is correct. Although Father's Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June in the United States, Canada, UK and several other countries, in Australia it is celebrated on the first Sunday in September.

So this is the fortnight challenge of Magnolia Down Under Challenge #20-- A Father's Day Card. I would love it if you can visit us at the MDUC and see the beautiful creations of the other DT members and join us in the fun. Also, their names are listed in the side bar, here and at MDUC, and you can click on their names and see the details of their individual cards.

In creating this card, I have used this wonderful sketch shown to the right that was provided by Beatrix at the Friday Sketchers Challenge Blog.

I am also using the colours from the challenge at Colour Create Challenge Blog. The colours are Blue, Sand, Silver and Black.

This elegant-looking Edwin on the card is the Magnolia Lucky Edwin image.

The hat charm near the bottom of the card is a late addition to the card. I had this spot blank at first. Looking at the sketch, I was suppose to put flowers there, but this being a male card, I was not going to do that. Men may very well like flowers, but I just do not consider flowers as male-card embelishments. I have the hardest time with embelishments when it comes to male cards. I couldn't think of what to put there, so I had it left blank. So I was the happiest person when I found this hat as I was rummaging throught my stash. Yeah! I've forgotten that I even had it.

That's all folks. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Thanks for visiting and if you have a moment, please leave me a comment.

Later on in the afternoon, I'm off to see Ponyo. I am so excited. I am just a big kid at heart. I love, and I mean luvvvv..., animation. And I am a huge huge huge fan of Hayao Miyazaki.

Edwin sitting on a wall

Happy Sunday morning to all! And it really is early Sunday morning here as it's 45 minutes after midnight--I'm a night owl. LOL). I'm posting my card for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge and I have to be conscious of the time difference as it's 17 hours ahead down under, so they're already approaching their evening hours. Wow.

This is my first card as a guest DT at MDUC--woo hoo! Thank you again Kellie for this opportunity. The challenge has been switched to a fortnight one now instead of weekly. I'll be a guest DT for the next 4 challenges.

Please visit the MDUC blog and see the wonderful creations made by the DT members there. Kellie's theme for this week's challenge is: All about a Boy.

I took that to mean that we have to use an Edwin image instead of a Tilda. Not a hard choice for me, as I only have 2 Edwin stamps-LOL. I know, I know, I have to get more Edwins!!! I've only used one of my Edwins, so for this card I'm using the one that I haven't used. It's the Traveler Edwin. And this is the card.

Don't you just love that brick wall? It's a Magnolia stamp. It's one of the stamps that I purchased in my very first order from Magnolia-licous, though I've never used it before in any of my cards. And oooh, this is actually very nice to use. It's so versatile! You can put any sitting Tilda or Edwin on this brick wall. I must use it more!!! I've chosen to colour the bricks as cement bricks here, instead of using terra cotta, so that the colours won't jar with the other cool colours of this card. I've also added some clouds from the summer background stamp. Hhmm... had to do a bit of masking there.

I've decorated the inside of my card this way.

That's it! Hope the rest of you weekend is worry-free.

Stamps: Magnolia #114 Traveller Edwin, #506 Brick Wall,
DP: Making Memories Scroll dark navy Heritage collection, Chatterbox Vacation Squares and Night Den Stripes.
Tools: Fiskars border punch Rope.

Edwin Goes Mushroom Picking

First of all, I must tell you about the Magnolia Blog Candy Give Away by Claudia at her blog Pretty Pressings. You really must take a look at her site. You will be amazed. I mean simply amazed. She is one very talented lady. All her cards are simply gorgeous. I learned so much from visiting her blog.

Now on to the challenge at Bizzy Becs. The challenge is simply to create a male card. "It can have any Male theme or image stamped on it. It can be any colour. This one is totally up to you.. Must show some METAL somewhere.. " Perfect! As my brother's birthday is coming up in April, this card will go out to him.

This is the first chance I get of using these stamp (actually for most of my stamps, as I've just recently acquired my Magnolia stamps). The stamp is called Edwin picking mushrooms. I also found the perfect Metal piece for this card (at Michaels), a charm of what else...mushroom! So here's my card. Taa daa.....

The idea for this card actually came from Claudia's blog. She calls this type of cards "buckle cards". I like it--it's different. I think I must do another buckle card and this time using a Tilda image.

Stamps: Magnolia #118 Edwin Gathers Mushrooms and #443 Ink Cap Mushrooms
