DRIVING TEST, RECRUIT ROOM, PIZZA HUT

okay. here goes. many of you must be wondering what is the outcome of my driving test rite? hahx..

Lemme start with my driving courses.

I was totally relaxed initally during the test, because i realised that the tester was not so scary after all. He was just a nice old man with white hair . So, i pictured, santa sitting next to me and i felt so at ease.

So at ease, until.. I forgot to .... change back from second gear to first gear at the Stupid slope.!

arghh.. and so.. you can predict the outcome of the slope..

I stalled my engine for abt 5 times. and i guess dear old santa was too fed up with my stalled engine and he began to remind me of my gear.

I was like," OH shit! i'm so sorry! ( on verge of tears as i m reminded of the thousands of dollars i spent on stupid driving. ) Is this an immediate failure? coz if it is.. i dun wish to waste my time."

*u guys must be thinking this gal is mad. Where got ppl ask this kinda questions to the instructor rite? hahahahha*

Dun ask me why i asked. I guess i was just too traumatized.

This is not the only incident during the test.

As according to the tester, i did not make any major mistakes. Just plentiful of minor mistakes. Haish.

N thus murphy's law came into place. Whatever could go wrong, went all wrong.

At one point, where i was supposed to make a left turn, i swerved. Literally.

So much til, santa had to hold himself back in place in case he flew out of the dear old toyota avios.

Guess how many demerit points i obtained!!!

a good old 44!! haha.. haish... dun laugh at me the next time u c me k!! =( i'm sad enough alr.. hahaha..

I went back to collect my paycheck and thus, took photos with all the them once again coz vicki n i have not taken any photos with our bosses! victoria n francis!!

After collecting my paycheck, i went to meet my dearie and we headed off to City hall to walk walk as well as to "celebrate" my driving.

It has been a very meaningful temp assignment at The Recruit Room. Imagine an office filled only with beauties . hee.. of course, i'm the thorn amongst the roses la..

Anyway, this studio goes only by invite, so its kinda exclusive, if u wanna view it that way..
Anyway, theres definitely a catch to everything.. in this case, if ure thinking they're trying to promoting their professional services, no.
They do not cater to one time sales like.. buying 1 photo that kind of thing..

Its like.. a long term membership. So,, they target at you paying membership for the rest of your life.. The membership entitles u to take 2 images every yr into a CD-rom, 1 event (only 4 hrs) to take images as well, one time of ic-sized photos, etc etc.. n guess what? it even entitles u to vacation jobs! omg......

So what does that mean? do u work at their office for free? hehe..

And anyway, its like.. ure not even allowed to tink abt it.

But the ting is.. the people there are not professional n good enough. seriously, i think they lack training. Either that, or everyone is there on vacation job. hahahahahah.. omg..

they cant even speak proper english for goodness sick. u c.. the ting is .. i have this ting that i get irritated by people who try to sound v professional n yet they cant even speak properly. Its not like my english is v good or smt. its just that i dun understand why ppl cant make an effort to brush up on their language.

Okay but anyway, i gues luckily my parents were there.. coz.. they saw thru them immediately. i din treally see thru them.. but i was just not interested in their membership. so i was like.. wanna move on n get it done n over with it.

Finally, when the ppl there realise that we have (or at least my parents have) seen thru their game, they qucikly tried to finish up with us n serve us out alr. n when we asked if we could come back againif we wanted just the servics n not the plan.. guess what they said?

No. this is only thru referrals.. so maybe next time u get referred den can come . if not, too bad lor.. (no la. the if not too bad is i added it in myself..)

But like what my dad said, they're aiming for the big fish.. not the ikan bilis.

BIDDING FAREWELL

I'm going to be on leave next week.. go back to work again for one week.. then leave The Recruit Room for good.

I feel quite sad actually, given that i have developed friendships with my clients. Now, when i suddenly have to give up all my clients in just one day, i feel a sudden loss of friends. Friends whom i've never met before but whom i have conversed with countless times over the phone.

It was really sad repeating these lines to my favourite clients...

" Hey XXX, by the way, i'm leaving the office alr.. Buit dun worry.. your job orders will still be handled efficiently. I'll be passing over my duties to my colleague, XXX."

Then they will reply" Huh? why? why u leaving??"

I'll be like.. Hesitate.. hesitate.." haha.. coz like that like that lor.. hehe"

Then they're like," say leh. haha.. u going back to the same trade (i.e going back into recruitment but changing firm?)? or what leh? "

Once i answered," Why? hehehe.."

And they said," u dun wan business meh? " (i.e, they'll go n gimme business if i go to other agencies. )

*it was then i felt so sad, so depressed. Some of my clients are just so ncie to me.. It's kind of sad to think that i'll never be able to liase with them again. That i'll never be discussing with them about a candidate.. so sad.

Good clients are hard to come by. N nice clients are ever harder to find.

Actually, i feel that whether you can sustain long with a client depends really on how you communicate with the client. If you always like.. chop chop macham everything must settle in 2 mins that kind.. and the client is like.. slow slow.. talk cock kind.. hmmm..

then u'll never be able to deveop rship with the client.

Haha.. that's just me, the jkack of all trades n a 3 mths recruitment consultant... talking like a pro..

But then again, i realise that, in the recruitment line..w e really have to talk like a pro.

Up til now, i still m quite blur regarding things like.. GL, bank reconciliation. I mean... these are words used in accounting. n i noe they are functions whoich accounts ppl must perform. But seriously, i really cant rmb what is the specific job function.

N most of the time when i talk to clients and candidates, i must act shat. haha.. n sometimes i really wonder if they c through my smokescreen.

If for some of you who dont understand what i'm talking about, its ok.. coz i might be spealking in circles.

Maybe, 5 yrs down the road, you come back n read this blog entry again, n it'll all make sense to you.. That is.. if ure going into a line that needs contacts.. but then again, almost everything requires contacts these days.

Once in a while, i'll ponder about some stuff.. topics like.. friends..

Now, after working for so long, after losing touch with so many people then i come to realise that all of us really need friends.

N i also realise, in order to keep maintaining the friendship with people, we'll have to keep on keeping contact with them, just in case, they slowly and quietly slip away one day..

Which is happening to me already.

Whats worse, most of my friends are going to a different course, different university.

Soon enough, will all of us still greet each other warmly when we see each other on the streets?
Or.. will we hesitate for a moment to even greet wach other by just saying"hi"..

Hmm.. one by one.. all the people in my circle of friends will soon enough become like that.. or will it?

i'm starting to get scared..
