Marching On

As we all know, today is the first day of March. I hope this means spring is coming soon. When I was a kid, my teacher taught us that March's weather came in like lion and out like a lamb. I hope this proves to be true. We are expected to receive more snow today so, the end of the month should be better.

I have heard of a number of people that set their New Year's resolutions in the spring. It makes sense. Who really wants to start a jogging program when it is negative degrees outside? Since my resolutions aren't going to well, (I only set two. How pathetic!) I decided to renew them today and call them March Resolutions. What's the difference? I realized I needed to set daily goals and concentrate on just one day at a time. We'll see how it goes.

This year, we received several Happy New Year cards instead of Christmas cards. That is a great idea! I'm sure it relieves a lot of pressure during the busy holiday season for those people sending the cards. I think it is great that we, as a society, are willing to carry on traditions, yet flexible enough to do it with some convenience. Does it really matter when we do certain traditions? No. I figure the important thing is that we all keep marching on.
