No question that we miss the snow and winter, but there's something to say for taking a little family getaway four days before Christmas and lying on the beach and not freezing to death. We needed a break, so we spent a couple of days in Galveston relaxing in the warm sunshine and playing on the beach

Texas Snow Day

Heaven knows I have all sorts of things to blog about such as a baby blessing, wedding, Thanksgiving, an whirlwind trip to California including a missed flight and lost luggage on both ends of the trip to name a few, but first things first...

It snowed in Texas!

We've all missed the snow so much since we moved away from it that I almost cried watching it coming down. It didn't last more than 24 hours, but we'll take what we can get! Matt's work and the kids' school sent everyone home early.

I think it was our favorite day in Houston so far.

Soup in the crockpot, bread baking, fire going, Christmas music playing, snow falling, starting the weekend early, and a little game of monopoly...it really couldn't get much better.
