Audrey was invited to go to San Antonio for the State VASE (art) competition. She rode down on the bus with her peers, but then I flew down there during the day so she could fly back with me to get home earlier than the bus. Long story. Fun day! I enjoyed myself at the McNay Museum and the Japanese Tea Garden.

April Fun
Miles and the Student Council at Florence Elementary replaced a beloved old tree that was struck by lightning with a new baby tree! We were so proud of their initiative! Audrey and Parker went to a stake dance together: cuteness. We watched a lot of baseball this month, and Miles started playing for Coach Crow on the Rangers. Audrey got her permit! A fun day at Magnolia and some other fun evenings with friends!

Awards & Presentations
The school year is starting to wind down! Awards and presentations galore around here. Audrey is a new National Honor Society member. Parker presented his final project at EA Young Academy. Audrey's watercolor painting won an award at Southlake Art in the Square, and two other paintings were on display, including my favorite, her oil painting of a longhorn in the bluebonnets. Miles had his artwork chosen for the district art show at City Hall.

Parker's Birthday
We celebrated this amazing dude turning 14! Neal and I are proud of the young man he is becoming and are grateful every day for his kind heart and quiet strength. So maybe he sleepwalks at night and play his guitar a little loud . . . we'll keep him.
Daddy Jeff came to Keller to help ordain Parker to the office of Teacher.

Easter 2017
I know that my Redeemer lives. What comfort this sweet sentence gives! He lives, he lives who once was dead. He lives, my ever-living head. He lives to bless me with his love. He lives to plead for me above. He lives my hungry soul to feed. He lives to bless in time of need. Because of Him my family can be eternal and I can feel His peace every day. Happy Easter!

Louisiana Weekend
Neal and I stayed the night at one of my favorite places in the world: Oak Alley Plantation. It was pure magic to be there overnight. We took a late night stroll down the alley of oaks, and in the morning did the same thing, only to find little families of foxes running back and forth from their dens. There are little cottages on the back of the plantation property that are so well-appointed and perfect. I highly recommend this getaway!
I met a relation during our tour of the plantation! A sweet man named Dennis LeVasseur!
Next, we headed into New Orleans to the Monteleone, one of our standards. We were in town to see a Radiohead concert, but also enjoyed all our usual haunts!
