In the Garden

I wanted to share a fun little pocket card I made using the Charlie's Ark "In the Garden" Creative Kit - pre-printed art is not what I usually work with, but I have it, so I had some fun..... and I definitely put my own spin on it!
I cut the partial oval in the topper with a Coluzzle template to create a window card, and I sandwiched a piece of acetate in between layers... so that oval goes all the way through! The card has a pocket inside, which you can see further down. I sponged on some clouds, using a scalloped circle as a mask, added a bit of shading here and there with a Sepia pencil, and sponged the edges... of course a boy doing gardening would have dirt everywhere, so I used Ultrafine Earth Flower Soft for dirt, and some Toffee in the flower center. I'll just share lots of pictures so you can see the details and dimension here... the kit comes with die-cut pieces and partial images that are meant for layering. Everything is ready to pop out and use - super easy. I used foam tape between my layers so they'd stand out more.

Here's the inside............

Thanks for stopping by!

Just a little dab will do wonders!

There are so many really great Flower Soft products to use the Flower Soft with. Great, pre-colored toppers, rubber stamp images and downloadable projects.  Everyone of these make for the perfect project to add touches of Flower Soft too.  BUT...you aren't limited to just those products.  Be on the lookout for every way that Flower Soft can be used to bring an added accent.
My example uses very simple elements on a card.

First of all, I had punched a border from yellow cardstock.  The scallop punch has an embossed edge to it.  I just ran a line of the Flower Soft Tacky Glue along one of the embossed scallops and then added some Citrus Crush Ultra Fine Flower Soft.
The little mommy duck with her little ducklings are from a piece of patterned paper by October Afternoon.  I put a little dash of the same Ultra Fine Flower soft on the wings of the two ducklings.

The card would have been complete without the Flower Soft, but just look at the fun element that it added.  An element that the recipient of the card will be taken with, for sure.

Thanks for visiting, Linda (lbpost)

Talk about colors!

We have been talking about colors this week, colors of Flower Soft that is.  And who would guess that Toffee Ultra Fine Flower Soft could look so neat?

The little vase and plant stamps are by PaperTrey, Inc.  The patterned paper is also by PaperTrey, Inc and the cardstock base on the card is Core Impressions by Core'dinations. It already has that great embossed design in it.  All I did was ink the vase and stamp that and then stamped those long plants to look like they are inside the vase BUT...can you see how cool that Toffee Brown Ultra Fine Flower Soft looks dabbed on the little puffs on the plant?
Here is a close-up! That Flower Soft makes the entire card, don't you think? Those plants just should be fuzzy and there isn't a better or easier way to get that look then Flower Soft. For this, all that was needed were little drops of the Tacky Glue and then I sprinkled the Flower Soft onto the glue dots. I like to shake the paper around a bit and to gently tap the Flower Soft into the glue to make sure I get a whole lot of it sticking to the glue as it dries.

Don't forget, you can still do the blog hop from Wednesday, there is a whole lot of goodness to see.

Thinking of you-Flower Soft Coordinates with Spellbinders!

Good Morning! I want to share another sample with the Toppers that coordinate with the Nestabilities Dies. I don't have the Scalloped Hearts, but the nice thing is that you can cut them out!

I wanted to have a vintage theme to this card, so I paired the (Teddy Happy Birthday) downloadable topper with some Basic Grey Infuse Paper. The Lace, Pearls and small roses contribute to the victorian look of the card. I added some Ultrafine Toffee to one Bear. Additional Accents of Sweet Pea Flower Soft Complete the card!

Hope you have a wonderful week

Sweet Treat Package

Happy Monday! If you're celebrating Victoria Day today and are enjoying a long weekend, I hope it's been safe and fun! I'm excited to be bringing you some of my projects each Monday here on the Flower Soft Blog!

I created this gift set with two of the images in the Recipes for Friendship Kit. I made the small Pizza Box, for which I found the Tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. This was quick and easy as well. I used a Nestabilitie to cut an octagonal shape around my image and sponged some soft sky and celery ink around the image. I used some Ultrafine Flower soft in Strawberry to add some dotted dimension to the bag and hair bows and some UF Toffee for the bear. A Little Shamrock to the grass..... and Viola! That was done in a flash!

I wanted to continue to experiment with my new colours and didn't want to repeat the same pattern, so for creative part of the challenge on my card I used some Shamrock and Ultrafine Raspberry Fizz to create the little bushes! In addition, I added some Lilac to her little hair bows!

I had lots of fun machine stitching the Red border.........hehe.........so much fun that I stitched and Stitched and stitched to create a shabby border. I'm lovin' that Polka dotted Ribbon too! I'm sure you've seen it here before and I need to order some more as I've just about used it all up!

Have a WONDERFUL day!
