Few DT creations and High Hopes Challenge

I had a very hectic week. After 4 month not having oven finally got my new cooker this week. I chose a 5 burner dual cooker which cosed a bit of problem lol we needed new cable, poor carpenter had to do extra day to sort it out and it wasn't planed. Adrian wasn't pleased either as he had to pay more money out. I had to reorganise my kitchen cos I lost cupboard space and had to dust everything after my stuff gone back into their new space. I was sooooooooo tired in the last few days had no energy to blog my projects and top of everything I had 2 bad nigh sleep one just had bad dreams and the other Mesi slept with us and she was kicking me in the back lol Friday and Saturday I was like a floppy vegetable lol completely useless
Ok enough of my gobbing

My 1st project is my TioT altered frame. How many of you throw away the frames what comes with the school photo. I kept it, Adrian just told me "Why are you keeping the rubbish again" I just though I give a goo and try to alter it. I think it's turned out quiet nice. Insid the background is TLC Creations and WA as well. I painted it with white acrylic and  crackle paint and before my paint dried I put a bit of glitter in it. The handle and the side is macrame. I completely forgot abt macrame when last week I was leaving comments on blog and came across with a card with macrame knot on it, unfortunately I forgot which blog was it. I just used the plain knots it was such a fun to get this old knowledge out. You should see what the DT come up with too.
I just love this backing paper from TLC Creations

My 2nd card is my Delicious Doodles DT card and the theme: Something for Mum. I chose this pretty WA from DD and the paper is from Pascale's pad. Water coloured the image and used few of my roses from stash. To finish it off I cut a Mariann swirl and few flat pearl. Pop over the blog and have a look what the DT come up with.
Side view shows you better all that dimension's going on.
My 3rd card is my High Hopes card. Their theme is Material. I made this card for their last challenge but I forgot to enter it lol BUT luckily fits the bill for this fortnights challenge too lol I used one of my new stamp from them, he is gorgeous. The flowers are material and it's from my stash and got that lovely lace underneath too. I have water coloured him  and my DP/BP is from stash too. The green/brown paper is kitchen paper towel and I kept it when I was spraying my images with shimmer spray.

Dont forget there will be a new realise on the 7th Aprial and a blog hop too with pize so keep your eye opend. Not long ago I won the grand prize $100 worth of High Hopes stamps

Altered shoe box over at TIOT

I forgot to post my shoe box. I think this week I set the bar bit to high, sorry peeps lol I love altering and I thought loads of us use shoe box to store bits and bobs, but maybe I was wrong. Well anyway I used a very tired shoebox and it turned out not to bed. I think I'm gonna give it away as a present. Once I finished it didn't know where to put it, while I was making it my next door neighbour gave me a storage of drawers full of embellishments (can you believe she gave up crafting, I would end up in a white jacket if I were to do that lol ) so after that my box have no room.
Here is my box the picture doesn't show justice
 Recipe

Shoe box lol
Paper towel
Tolet rolls
Spellbinder corner & border die cut
News paper
Black acrylic paint
Gold paint
Red&black TH ink

First I coverd my box with paper mache and glue some bits of paper on it all over the place then I let it dry for few days. Once it was dry I panted it with black paint carefully leaving the paper bits out, when my paint was dry with my finger I put some gold paint on. I cut some corners out and the other bits what I imked up and covered with gold thinly and decorated my box with it and when it was dry I put the rolls inside. Oh yeah gave some feet for my box as well. Below the close up of the corners

Here you can see the gold shimmer nicely. The truth is it is much better in real

If you like to see what my brill teamyie came up with pop over to TIOT

Alter it with Wings

This week over at TIOT is my turn to pick and I love altering anything I can lay my hands on lol and I was supposed to make a frame in September for someone and I just had no idea what to make, so keeping it in mind what I have to make I set this theme which is WINGS and believe it after I set this my project turned out a bit different I wanted to but over all I'm very pleased with it and sad I have to send it off.
Here is my picture frame
Recipe
Tim Holtz stamps and inks
TLC Creation digi WA
Butterfly stamps
Marienne swirl die cut
Old pages from a book
Acrylic paint
Debbi Moore brown embossing powder

I started to paint my pages with white acrylic pain as I have no gesso yet then I stamped the swirl onto it all over once it was dry. I was going to paper mache it but haven't got enough PVA glue as I used a whole tub the other day to alter something else and still haven't bought a new tub of PVA glue so I ended up just gluing the paper onto the frame then as an extra decoration I used other stamps to decorate it. The angle sentiment is from TLC and I dug out an old set of butterfly stamps (one of my 1st set of stamps lol ) and used two of those as well. The wing is stuck behind, well the back is still a bit messy, so got to make a quick frame for the back but that's only gonna take few min now. All of the images embossed with brown, I think it turned quiet Vintagie

When I finished the whole thing somehow a small drop of water got onto my angel WA I was so angry and I could not reprint it again as I used the last little scrap hand made BP paper, so I just had to correct it with my fine line pen.

If you like to see what the rest of DT made hop over to TIOT and see it yourself

I recycled again

Over at TT this week challenge is Black, I never made anything apart black and white card lol So this week I challenge myself again. I had such a fun and an accident with acrylic paint, big blob wet on my trousers (so glad it was only home trousers and black lol) and a huge blob on the white table cloth lol BUT I was quick and the table cloth is saved, phew lol
Anyway here is what I made. From a pickle jar into my water colour pencil holder. The more I look at it the more I fell in love with it. I think got to make few more for my Shakura  pens. I was looking for a nice glass jar to keep my pencils in and that would've coasted me £3.50 this way nothing as I had everything. It is a simple and quick project

Recipe
Pickle jar
Mirri board
Black acrylic paint
Ribbon from stash
Paulette's free digi and WA
Fancy label die
Embossing plate

I have to say the  base was not my idea. It's from Craft Stamper magazine but there was a little chest made with this technique. First I cut few piece of mirri board to fit round my jar then put it through my Wizard to emboss it. After I embossed it I put a big blob of black acrylic paint and WAIT smudge it with your finger, never mind how your finger gonna look like lol after that you wipe it off gently with paper towel and woala the base is done. Before I stickied it on I painted with black acrylic the top and the bottom too. After it dried I stuck the mirri together and onto the jar. When I printed my horse I mirror printed it to be able to face them. When I had my horse I just thought I need something else and that's when I got my gold pearl acrylic paint once that dried too I Put the label on with antique gold twine and decorated it with ribbon. Oh yeah the ribbon on the side you got to put it on before hand as that's hiding where the mirri board attached to each other. I just love this metal effect. So Lyn aka Blackdragon thanks to make me learn a new technique.

Here is few more pick

And this is the back view
I hope I didn't bore you to much. I had a hell of a time making it. I will be recycle more and got a tutorial for one of my creation so just need a bit of time to blog it

I'm gonna enter this project to
Stampavie and more: Black, white&one more colour (my extra is gold)
Dutch Dare:Anything goes (their sponsor is Simon Says Stamps )

My washing powder box

I made this box for my 16 years old guest who's staying with us for 5 weeks. I thought it's a nice little welcome presie.
I'm sure loads of you using tablets washing powder. I kept the box and decorated it. Very easy!
Get some paper and tear it up. Get PVA glue and a brush and start to stick it on the box (just like you do paper mache). Once all sides done and dry time to decorate.
I used some flower fairies chipboard, flower fairies match it, Cute Companion mice, flower punches and ribbon from stash.
Top of the box
Side view where the card is open. I went one step further and to save time I made a wellcome card atteched to the box.
Front of the card where I put my guest's name DORI.
This is the back of the box which is the card in the same time. The topper is the match it by Princes Pinflair. They just brill.

I had enough of my old jeans

Has it ever happened to you? Did you through it away?! Well I didn't! As mum of two and spending whatever I can on crafting I hardly ever spend money on clothing ,because of that I decided to alter these old jeans. I cut of the fraying bit from the bottom BUT I have no sewing machine so out come the good old touch&bond (time will tell if it works). This is how it looked before I touched it

I've got sooooooo many material samples so I decided to put them in good use. I cut some flowers out from the orange&red dotted material and from the orange checked material. From green I cut out a doodle and once it was stuck to my trousers I stuck the flowers on to it too.For the back just cut out two flowers with leaves. Now my jeans are funky and the best of it NO ONE ELSE GOT IT :-)
