Squirrel Sunday.......Squirrel-hog Day (earlier than Groundhog Day)

"Do you see it yet?.........
"......where is it?.......

".......maybe it's over here.......

".......over there?..........

"Sigh.......I'll just sit here and wait. Spring must be coming soon....isn't it????"
("Yes, it's coming, Star.....hang in there!")
I'd say that Anne's little Norway squirrel is digging for spring, too! Check him out!

Apparently Europe is still a leader when it comes style. Our fox squirrels haven't gotten the message that it is cool to let your ear hair tufts grow out!

A lovely, lovely post Mary. Do feel so sorry for the poor birds and animals in this weather. Amazed to see those icicles - we are forecast to have snow, coming over from Siberia, later today. I shall be very surprised if we actually get some in this area, but will take photos if we do. Pretty cold here today though. A x

Hi Mary, I think we're all looking forward to spring even our animal friends. Lovely series of photos again, and the ones in your previous post was great too. Happy Sunday to you.

Tom: I know...aren't those ear tufts really cute?? I'd love to have one of those squirrels around.

Anne: Our ice continued to melt all night, so that is a good thing.

Richies: LOL! I hadn't thought of it like that! Funny.

Denise: I'm ready for spring now!

Keri: Thanks!

Ruth: All those icicles are crashing down everywhere today! We keep having avalanches off the dome sides...very noisy...scares the birds and me, too!

Great pictures of the squirrel, Mary. He looks so hungry and so cold... Poor thing!!!!!

If the icicles are crashing down, I guess that means that things are beginning to melt. Hallelujah!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

It looks like the day might have been a success for I don't see any bright sun that might give a shadow?! Its always good to have a back up just in case the ground hog is a little sleepy.

Mary said...

Dorothy: I'm sure he was a LOT cold!

Ann: I certainly hope he is right! I'm ready for spring soon! We'll see what the groundhog has to say tomorrow, just in case :-)

I always wonder how their feet keep from freezing!

Mary said...

Rose: Me, too.

Well, it doesn't look like he'll see his shadow this time, but don't tell him there will be 6 more weeks of winter( sigh)regardless.
We went looking for the black squirrels today, but no luck.

Becky: I'm going to think positive. Here in southern Indiana, it may not be that far away :-) Sorry, you didn't see any. Where did you go? I know that Fishing Guy sees them in Kent,Ohio all the time.

Poor Star!! You are going to have to send him here for your winters. :) I love the way you interpret the photographs Mary!!

Mary said...

Joan: Thanks...He'd probably insist on a first class ticket and we couldn't afford it :-)

Great squirrel photos as usual.

I've put out bird seed and now I hope to only see squirrels on your blog, not in my yard!

Mary: We actually have sun and blue skies today but Phil says 6 more weeks of Winter and I'm sure he's right.

Mary said...

2sweetnsaxy: I think he is cute...but obviously some don't appreciate them quite so much :-)

Sandy: Isn't that right :-) If you don't feed them, who will???

Fishing Guy: Tell Phil we are not pleased. Hopefully down here in southern INdiana it won't matter what Phil thinks!

We went to Westfield, New York. A town about 25 miles from here. In the summer they are in everybody's yard. I only saw 1 nest. Maybe we'll have to wait for warmer weather.

Becky: I'll be so jealous when you finally post some! I think those black squirrels are absolutely gorgeous and want some here. When spring comes I'm going to go back and see the white ones again in Illinois.

Happilyretired: Thanks! Much too cold to make me happy.
