Take Me To Your Cake

Recently I was going through some older stamp sets I have and I came across the Beam Me Up set from Lawn Fawn. I thought it would be good fun to have the aliens try to beam up farm animals. Looking around, I came across the farm background stamp so decided to combine the two sets together with several EO brads to make this humorous take on an alien abduction.

After stamping the farming scene, I colored it with markers. Then I colored and cut out the UFO and beam. I also stamped and used white embossing powder for the sentiment strips. Next I cut the background with a stitched slimline die and cut a slightly larger mat in silver. I placed the UFO pieces in the scene and then added all the monster and farm animal brads. I also added a cupcake swirl brad. Then I glued the two slimline pieces together and glued it on to the front of a slimline card base.

Trick or Treat!

Do you create goodies for trick-or-treaters?

Here is a fun card idea to try! I started with a standard size card, then created a diagonal pocket using the glitter washi tapes and the fun monster washi! I stamped the plain triangular part with candies and colored in with colored pencils.

I added a sentiment banner and embellished with the colorful, fun, and "scary" monster brads!  You could slip in a gift card or chocolate bar, a treat that both the young and old "trick-or-treaters" would surely enjoy! Happy Halloween!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to shop at Eyelet Outlet for your crafting needs!

Hello Eyelet Outlet fans! Do birthay's feel monsterous to you? They do to me! LOL! Today's card makes fun at that or could also be given to a little love monster in your life for their birthday.

I love all the colors in this card and it's almost all achieved with washi tape. Add a few brads, an enamel heart and a few sequins and it's done! Quick as a wink!

The frame in this card is new and so is the birthday banner tape. Lots of new tape has been added in the last week so you might want to take a trip to the store and look around.

Have a great day!

Pandemic

Today's card is a continuation of the covid card series started several months ago.  Cards 1-3 included "Social Distancing", "Zoom" and "Heros".  Card 4 of this series is entitled "Pandemic".  If you haven't heard the word 'pandemic' prior to 2020, then it is a near certainty you are now familiar with it.

This slimline card has a lot going on!  The card is 4x9 and fits into a #10 business envelop.  Other than the brads, the card is lacking in color and pattern---that was intentional.

First, the title in white letters is constructed by using four copies of the letter glued together to provide a thick, solid title.

Next, the Pandemic definition:  "Prevalent throughout an entire country, continent, or the whole world; epidemic over a large area".

Moving over to the the right side of the card are three mini-scenes summarizing the emotional toll this disease has on people.

  •  The Eyelet Outlet Monster Brads represent that this is a scary disease and the unknown can be quite challenging.
  •  The Eyelet Outlet Heart Brad shedding tears represent the heartbreak that family and friends experience as they are dealing with the sickness and loss of life.
  •  The Eyelet Outlet Deer Brad represents the loneliness and isolation that many feel as their 'normal' activities and visits with others are restricted.

The card sentiment at the bottom is something we now hear in everyday life:   Stay Safe, Be Well.

If any piece or part of this card provides inspiration to you, then please create a card and send it to someone who may be need a few words coming their way.   It can be reassuring, healing, or an acknowledgement they are not alone in this world.

Take a moment to go over to the Eyelet Outlet site and explore the vast array of brads.

Stay Safe.  Be Well.

Boo to You

In this Interesting Year of 2020, Halloween is bound to be a bit different, so it seems like an especially great time to send cards and other greetings, doesn't it? Luckily Eyelet Outlet has plenty of brads to suit the season! I (Lauren) have made a trio of ATCs that can stand alone OR become the centerpieces of some fun cards.

EO Ghost Brads are so cute it's almost scary! Though these guys seem to have been frightened off by a pair of Mini Spider Brads?

Monster Brads, on the other hand, are not afraid of anything... except maybe missing out on their share of the sweets, like Candy Corn Brads! The Bat Brad in the corner is hoping they remember to brush and floss afterwards.

It's a banner day for the witch who lives in the last ATC, thanks to Taylored Expressions' Pennant Parade Cling and Clear set, also the source of the cute sentiments! She's parked her Witch Hat next to a Pumpkin Brad while she goes to fetch her Broom... or maybe her Vacuum??

I hope you'll be inspired to make some fun Halloween cards or ATCs to share with your friends and family. Check out all of the awesome Holiday Brads in the EO store!

says BOO to you!

Monsters on Parade...and using Cricut Design Space to Plan a Card

Hello EO fans! I often use Cricut Design Space and my Cricut to make cards. It's easy to plan it this way and know before it's cut what it will look like when it's done.

I've posted a new video today on this process. It applies to all Cricut machines that use Cricut Design Space (Air and newer).

Click on the link for the video: https://youtu.be/hSAQ0-lHsVc

It features our Monster Brads and Skinny Glitter Washi tape. Go on over to the channel for all the details. While you're there, please subscribe. The team is planning more video content for you.

Three Eyed Monster

I decided to play around a little with a shaped card today.  They are really pretty simple to make with Cricut Design Space!  For this monster shaped card I used a monster from the Autumn Celebrations image set.  I used Eyelet Outlet Small Eye Brads to really add some EYE POPPING interest to the font of my card!

To create the card base, I ungrouped the layers in the image and duplicated the bottom shadow layer.  I flipped the duplicated image vertically, then lined the two up until they just touched one another.

Then I selected both images and used the weld function to join them together.

I couldn't resist embellishing the inside of my card with a couple cute Eyelet Outlet Monster Brads!

I also used a drawn image from Cricut's Monster Icons & Printables image set to add my greeting.

Thanks for stopping in today!

If the Shoes Fit...

A Pinterest pin of a Halloween wood project inspired my potion-y, rebus/pictogram card for today!  Distress oxide inks have made creating "witches' brew" backgrounds so much fun, and Eyelet Outlet brads are perfect for spelling out a Happy Halloween phrase!

Enjoy your weekend!

March of the Toys

So many of the Eyelet Outlet brads are perfect for realistic cards ... but today, I'm looking at my brad collection through the eye of creating my own Toy Story.

I started with March of the Toys Designer Paper from the Carta Bella Toy Box Collection and then created my own Toy Box Parade.  I started with a few pieces of Building Block Washi Tape to help ground the parade (remember you can click on the pictures to see a larger view).

Next I went through my entire brad stash and pulled out any that I thought would be found in a Toy Box.

I added a winter sled (one of the new Fall Brads), a fun little convertible car (doing a wheelie for my brother), a motorcycle, cartoon fish, a stuffed giraffe, a fun Monster, a Toy Army Man ... and of course some building blocks.

I finished with a dump truck (one of our favorite toys because we could play in the dirt and rocks), another wheelie car, a stuffed lion and round brads for some bouncing balls.

I had so much fun creating my card, there will likely be more toy-themed designs in my future.

Scaring Up Some More Halloween Inspiration

Hi!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards with a few more Halloween cards to share.  My first card provides the "perfect recipe" for some Halloween fun.  We have Monster Mash, Pickled Eyes, and Spider Legs on the menu today!

I used the Monster, Small Eye, and Spider brads as well as Medium Jewel Bling Strips and Jewel Bling Strips and Glitter Black Washi.

To make the card, I used a cut file purchased in the Silhouette store.  I used card stock from Stampin' Up and a digital patterned paper was used to fill that panel behind the potions.  Speaking of the background, I placed the Jewel Bling randomly on the stars.  The Glitter Washi was used on the bottle corks and as the shelf on which the potions sit.

And here's the sentiment I created for inside the card:

Next up, we have a nighttime walk; which can be pretty scary, especially around Halloween.  This card was simple to put together; so if you like Halloween cards, but don't feel like you have the time to make them, this would be a good option.

I used the Spooky Eye brads for this card as well as the Small Eye brads...'cause you just have to have a cyclops or two on Halloween.  You'd need two packs to duplicate this look.  In fact, I want to go back and add another set of eyes in that open spot I didn't notice until I looked at the picture.  If you'd like the template for this nighttime walking pair, you'll find it on the Freebies page or just link from the toolbar above.

Here's what I did inside the card; another set of eyes and a little poem.

Well, that's it for today!

Monster Mash

I love making Halloween cards ... and I love Monsters ... so this is one of my favorite times of the year.

The September Challenge theme at Impression Obsession Stamps is Halloween Projects, so I had fun combining their stamps with some spooky-cute Eyelet Outlet products.

I added the fun Spooky Eye Brads to one of the monsters in the Our Gang Monster Stamp from Impression Obsession together with the Monster Mash sentiment.

Using this week's TGIF Challenge Sketch, I added some Happy Halloween Washi Tape and three of the adorable Monster Brads at the top of my card to finish the design.

A Girly Monster Card

Guess what time it is? 12.01 p.m. Tuesday!! and my time to post on the Eyelet Outlet Blog!! Let me tell you it's so great when you can use a few brads, a bit of bling and some paper flowers ( all from the Eyelet Outlet Storeto make a card because I left my markers at home this weekend.

Since most guys (no matter what age) don't like flowers I decided to make this a blingy, girly monster card.  Those monster paper flowers from the Eyelet Outlet Store are so cute and are a perfect match for the Eyelet Outlet monster brads  The two smaller flowers are flat attached and the center one is popped up, when I finished I knew it needed some bling so I grabbed the Jewel Strips you can find them in all colours and in pearls too at the Eyelet Outlet store.  and added them to the edges of the blue layer and dotted a few inside the circles of the embossing.

close up of two of the monster brads and the flowers

check out how awesome those rhinestones are.

Eyelet Outlet items I used
there are many, many designs and solid colours too.

You really need to check out all the fabulous products the Eyelet Outlet has to offer.
That's all for now, see you again next Tuesday at 12.01 p.m. PDT.

I've Got My Eyes on You!

Hello everyone!  Happy Fall!  I spent most of the day Thursday putting up my Fall decorations, and then for the rest of the weekend I played with Halloween papers and stamps...I just LOVE these colors!  It has been so much fun!

I had a package of candy eyeballs that were calling out to be used as a ready-made shaker...all I had to do was cut an opening with a die and glue the trimmed package right in.  This shaker actually peeks through an opening in the card front and is attached to the back of the card.

This was so quick to put together, and looks really cute with some Eyelet Outlet coordinating monster-themed products:

Have a great week!  I'll see you again soon!
