April Desktop Calendar Idea
As we are enjoying spring blossoms and bright green leaves here in SC, we are also enjoying April showers! I thought these little rainboots were just the thing to use to create a fun desktop calendar!
I created my "card" front using a rain drop stamp on the background and stamping and cutting out my sentiment and rainboots. Next I added one of my favorite washi's, the green grass washi, to the bottom edge. I embellished by adding the mini ladybug, mini bee and boot brads and some cardstock for layering, along with a small printed April calendar.
I adhered my "card front" to only half of the green cardstock, so that I could fold it for standing. I added the orange brads to anchor the stand up position and the green grass washi across the bottom. Lastly, I added a sticky note pad for those quick notes you want to make conveniently! I think this is a fun desktop calendar and note pad you could enjoy all month!

Busy, Make that Buzzy Bees
The Eyelet Outlet store has a number of bee brads and I've been drawn to them like, well, like a bee to honey. Sorry, I just couldn't help myself.
For my first card, a Center Easel, I used the Mini Bee, Bee, and Stitched Flower-Bright Brads.
In addition, I used a Penny Black Stamp, "Bee-have". The name of the stamp works really well for the greeting, too! I created my own version of the Center Easel card with honeycomb side panels.
Here's another view from the side so you can see how the easel props up on the sentiment panels.
The card folds flat for mailing.
Next up, is a beehive-shaped card using the Bumble Bee Brads and Purple Paper Flowers accented with Gold Edged Jewel Brads in Purple.
Inside, I created the sentiment using the text to path option in my Silhouette design screen.

Mini Card Smiles for Miles
Once I started making the cards, I decided to combine the colors in the paper collection, add some dictionary text paper with strategically placed words, and highlight the designs with a bit of Washi Tape in coordinating shades and patterns.
Flower Tape with Cute Bugs looked adorable with the Mini Bees. Chevron Tape was a natural choice with that sweet camera and bold Peace Sign. The Blue Dots Tape always reminds me of bubbles in an aquarium (or the ocean?!) so that was perfect with the Flip Flops. And Smiley Face Tape was an obviously fab accent for the Mini Smiley. I've also used some Foil Dots tape and my very favorite, super-colorful Skinny Washi Set as accents.
When all the cards were finished, it seemed a shame not to make some tiny envelopes for them, using the leftover bits of paper and a little more coordinating tape; though these will be tucked into a gift or mailed in a larger envelope, since 3.5 x 5" is the smallest size you can mail on its own!
I hope you'll be inspired to look at your own paper collections and your stamp sets, to see which ones will pair perfectly with some super-fun Eyelet Outlet Brads! Meanwhile Miss Carri has another great project to show you, so why not scroll down and see that right now?! ♥

Florals or Foils?
