Harvest Friendships

Autumn is a time to harvest friendships!

I am enjoying the colors of Autumn! I started with stamping my scarecrow image and coloring with alcohol ink markers. I created a background for my image using the wood grain washi. Lastly, I used a standard card base embellishing with the pumpkin washi, scarecrow brads, and fall brads!

I hope you enjoy! Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to shop at Eyelet Outlet for your crafting needs!

Autumn Splendor

"Autumn paints in colors that Summer has never seen."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

I started with stenciling a tree background for my base. I stamped and fussy cut a variety of autumn leaves. Then I added my sentiment circles. After placing my leave collage and sentiment, I added the pumpkin brad! I embellished with 3 fall brads in the top left corner and placed on cardstock lined with the wood grain washi tape!

I hope you enjoy! Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to shop at Eyelet Outlet for your crafting needs!

Hey Pumpkin! Dex Card

Hi friends!  I had so much fun creating my last Memory Dex Card that I decided I needed to create a fall-themed one to share with you!   I also am participating in a Dex swap, so this was a great opportunity to kill two birds with one stone!

I colored up these cute images with Copic Markers, cut them out and set them aside.   I knew that I wanted to pair her with some fall brads, so when I die-cut my Memory Dex card, I knew that I would need multiple layers so that I could add some foam to leave room for the brads in back.  I die-cut one card from heavy-weight card stock, and I cut two more from two different patterned papers.

I used my paper trimmer to cut the plaid card to 2" and I adhered it to the leaf patterned card.  I wrapped them with Sparkle Copper Glitter Washi Tape (this is literally my favorite washi ever!) and then I adhered my colored images to the card front.

I added a Pumpkin Brad at the base of her feet and scattered some Mini Leaf Brads all around.  Once they were in place, I added foam tape to the back and adhered it to the heavyweight dex card.   Lastly, I stamped my sentiment, and I bordered it with a layer of cardstock that I wrapped with the washi.
I hope that my swap partner (and you, of course) loves this card as much as I did!  I had a really hard time putting it in the mail.
Thank you so much for hanging out with me for a little while!
Xoxo, Kim

Coffee anyone?

Hello crafty friends!  Are you a coffee drinker?  I think I shared before that I am!  It is all about the coffee in my house!  Even if you aren't a fan of coffee, I have a project that is perfect for the coffee (or cocoa, or cider, or tea) lover in your life!

I am still on a fall kick, so I decided I would stay with that theme and create this adorable coffee cup gift card holder.   The belly band holds the gift card inside!  How clever is that?
To create this, I used some beautiful fall floral printed paper and I added some of the beautiful brown rhinestones from the Brown 4mm Jewel Strip to the center of some of the flowers.  I used my tweezers to separate them from the strip and adhered them to the cup.
I actually die-cut an extra belly band because I knew I wanted to use brads, so I would need to create some extra room for the back of the brad.  I used kraft card stock for the belly band and trimmed one piece from the extra die-cut and I drew in some white stitching using a paint pen, and I heat embossed the sentiment on a white circle.  I added some of the Mini Leaf brads and a few more of the rhinestones.  I popped it up onto the top of the actual belly band with foam squares, which created room for the back of the brads.
Lastly, I added some gray to the "lid" with my Copic markers to make the white stand out more.

Hello Fall!

Hi friends!  Are you a TEAM HEATWAVE or TEAM SWEATER WEATHER?  While I love summer, I have to admit that I love autumn!   I am so excited for the weather to turn cool enough that I can pull out my sweaters and shawls.

I thought this would be the perfect time to say "hello" to fall!  My card has a ton of layers made up of patterned papers, a dry embossed panel, and some lace.  I wrapped some cardstock with the Sparkle Brown Glitter Washi Tape (which I absolutely LOVE) and I die-cut the letter "a" from the washi panel.  I die-cut the rest of the letters from patterned paper and I distressed the edges of everything with ink.
I heat-embossed the hello on a piece of coordinating paper, trimmed it down and set it aside.  I added the Leaf Brads to the embossed panel and popped it up with foam squares.   I created a loopy bow with some ribbon and linen thread, and I used the Sunflower Brads to create a button.  I used wire snips to remove the legs of the brad and I used my hot glue gun to add it to the center of the bow.  To complete my card, I adhered all of my elements to the card front.

I hope this inspired you to get crafty and maybe use your supplies in a different way!  Please make sure to leave me a comment to let me know if you are a fan of summer or fall!

Framing Fall

When I (Lauren) saw this awesome Frame Washi in the Eyelet Outlet Online Store I couldn't wait to use it to show off a little collection of my favorite brads. Since we're heading into September and  looking forward to all things autumnal, a collection of Fall Brads, like ScarecrowsSunflowersApplesLeaf Brads and Mini Leaves seemed appropriate. Of course, with so many leaves, I needed the Rake from the Lawnmower Set (which is on sale!); and then I couldn't resist adding Sun and Cloud BradsButterflies and Mini Ladybugs aren't specifically autumnal, but the colors work nicely together, don't you think? A few strips of Script Tape set off the Frame cluster really well; and as a finishing touch, it's hard to beat a scattering of golden orange Sequins.

What's your favorite thing about autumn? Because I bet we have EO Brads and Tapes that will work perfectly!

is looking forward to Fall!

CAS Question...

...is a card still "Clean and Simple" if it features five Eyelet Outlet Washi Tape styles and nine Brads?! I (Lauren) say yes; but then I'm not exactly a minimalist, lol!

Inspired by this cute tree sticker I found in my stash, I started looking through my Eyelet Outlet goodies for autumnal items in the right colors, and found Pumpkin BradsSunflowersMini Leaves, and the orange calico cat from our Feline Brads. To ground my embellishment grouping, I made a tape stack starting with Pumpkin TapeWood Washi, and my favorite Script Tape, to which I added some shorter pieces of solid color Skinny Tape. Since I had obviously made a tiny stylized landscape, it seemed like a good idea to finish off with Sun and Cloud Brads... so I did!

hopes you're enjoying autumn
as much as she is!

Fall is Fun

Technically, autumn will not begin until September 21st, but as soon as the kiddos head back to school, it seems like we all shift gears into "Fall Mode" doesn't it? So this seems like a good time to break out a few Eyelet Outlet Pumpkin Brads, some beautiful Sunflowers and even a sweet little Fox!

I chose my colors from the truck, which I fussycut from an autumn-themed journal card. I diecut long, leafy flower stems out of a few shades of green to compose my sunflower field and added some Black Jewels to the hubcaps. The woodgrain mat was made by carefully lining up strips of Wood Washi along each edge of my pre-cut white cardstock layer, and letting them overlap at the corners.

Sunny Days!

Fall is filled with sunshine and and the colors of nature and change.
I created a sunflower using Eyelet Outlet's Paper Flowers.
Bling and Enamel Dots create the center focal point.
The wide washi tape is flanked by strips of thin washi...and the green ties in the composistion.

A Butterfly brad also helps to carry the theme.
What are your favorite fall themes?

I'd love to hear!

It's Fall, Y'all!

I'm not sure that's possible, but my (Lauren's) calendar indicates we are into the LAST week of September somehow? This seems like a good time for some fall cards, especially since the new Scarecrow Brads have just made their debut in the Eyelet Outlet Store!

Here's a shocking true confession: I don't actually like scarecrows!!! But these Scarecrow Brads are so adorable, they've even won me over! Something else I realized as I sat down to make my first card... I had never used the Tractor Brads that came out in the spring release. So this seemed like a good time to remedy that. I like the way the Pumpkin Brad looks super huge when it's placed on the trailer. Just goes to show you what a good job those scarecrows did over the summer! I found some plaid patterned paper with exactly the right colors and diecut the word "FALL" from cardstock I had covered with this awesome Sparkle Copper Tape.

My second card features handcut letters from scraps of that plaid paper. But of course you could use stickers, diecuts or computer-generated text. The oversized text gave me so much extra room I was able to include all the brads from the first card PLUS a trio of Sunflower Brads! Oh and you'll notice that there are two color variations in the Tractor Brads!

My third card shows off the Sunflower Brads again, as well as another pumpkin, two varieties of Paper Flowers and some fun Hardwood Floor Tape; not to mention letters diecut from Script Washi.

Remember that there are lots of brand new projects from the Design Team each and every week. Stop by the EO Blog often to be inspired! ♥

The New Super-Couple!

Don't worry, there are no Kardashians in this post. Just Kards... I mean cards! The super-couple to which I (Lauren) refer is the combination of Gina K Designs' Wreath Builder stamps and Eyelet Outlet brads. Because trust me, they are gooooooooooooood together. See?

It helps to have a stamp positioner. I suppose it's probably vital. And truly it's the thing that makes it not only possible to make awesome, unique cards this way-- but also really fun and slightly addictive! Then there are the brads, obviously.

My first card is built around our brand new Eyelet Outlet Apple Brads which come with both apples and cores. I used Gina K's Autumn Wreath Builder set to make a perfect home for them, with an appropriate sentiment from the same set.

The second card is still quite autumnal in feeling, but I've left it without a sentiment so that it could be a birthday, a thank you, or a get well; though naturally I hope not to need the latter anytime soon. I've added Daisy Flower BradsButterfly BradsMini Butterflies and Mini Ladybugs, as well as red and champagne Jewel Bling and a bit of Script Washi in the background.

My third card miiiiiiight be my favorite. Because one of our Gnomes is making use of a rake from the Lawn Mower Set in front of a Pumpkin with a background of softly falling Mini Leaf Brads! Boy would I love to have a gnome to do my leaf-raking in real life, but until that happens, I guess I'll just enjoy that in card form!

Pumpkins For Everyone

Did you know that dozens of beautiful, brand new tape designs were added to the Eyelet Outlet Store in the last few weeks? Today I (Lauren) have a trio of cards made with what might be my favorite: Wide Pumpkin Washi! I love the soft, elegant design of this tape, the watercolor look of the pumpkins, and the fact that it's accented with pink flowers and soft green leaves.

One of my favorite "tape tricks" is to cover a piece of cardstock with it, then use it exactly like any other patterned paper, which is what I've done with the Wide Pumpkin Washi on my first card. To ground the design I added a triple row of Pink Bling Strips and topped it with a pink Paper Flower stack, accented with one of these sweet Pumpkin Brads.

I'm always excited to see Green Paper Flowers. Why? Well they're fun on their own and make a great bottom layer of a flower stack, but mostly, I like to cut them apart and use the flower petals as leaves. I've used two petals from one of the largest flowers exactly that way in my first card, but in the second, I got a little fancier, and cut some medium and small flowers apart into individual segments. Then, using a green Pearl Bling Strip as a base, I recreated the vine design on the Wide Pumpkin Washi, and used it as an accent for a multi-color flower stack.

Something that always amazes me is how different one tape can look when it's set against different backgrounds. For my third card, I applied the Wide Pumpkin Washi as an accent on my pale pink card base, then set it off with two strips of Pink Bling. This time my flowers are two shades of pink, and accented with one of the pretty new Pearl Gems.
