Grateful Forest

Hi everyone and welcome to our Sunday blog post here at Eyelet Outlet! I'm always on the lookout for dies, card kits and designs that allow me to show off EO brads, bling, and flowers. Today I have a shadow box card that I made using dies and patterned paper from Crafter's Companion. When I saw the woods die, I knew I would just have to put EO's Sketch Owls in the scene. I used another owl as the center of my twine bow. I added Leaf Brads and placed them to look like they are falling in the forest. To get that look, I inserted the brad portion through already created holes in the tree trunks made by the die. It couldn't have been easier! I created the large mushrooms with dies to frame this scene. They were calling me to snuggle in a couple of the Girl Gnome brads so I listened. How cute!

I encourage you to take a look at your collection of dies and stamps and think about what EO products you have or would like to get that would make your good projects even better. They will elevate your projects every time and make them stand out!

Thankful Harvest

It's the last weekend before Thanksgiving. If you are in the United States, most of you are thinking about gatherings centering around family with a harvest of bounty, the Thanksgiving Feast! I have been busy shopping and prepping for the day. How about you?

Today I've combined a die cut image with several EO brads and a pumpkin washi tape. It's pretty simple to enhance die cuts with brads that fit the theme. I've used many here on the pumpkin flower scene.

To make the card, I start by cutting the die cuts out of white cardstock. Then I color the shapes with Copic markers. You can shade your die cuts this way. I also enhanced a yellow paper flower with a marker. To make the background, I covered a piece of cardstock with pumpkin washi tape and then cut it and a shadow layer out with scalloped dies.

Once all the cuts were ready, I began to piece the die cuts and I placed many accent brads amongst the die cuts. I included sunflowers, leaves, pumpkin, acorn, scarecrow, and butterflies.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I thank you for stopping by today. Please visit the store for all your brads, washi tape, bling and paper flowers!

some background stencils from Peddlers Den/Makin a Scene
Stamps. I colored the scene with Distress Inks and Copics.

Then came the decorating fun with the adorable pumpkin

Best of the Bunch

Today I colored a floral card from All and Create. It has different inserts that you can add for the different seasons and makes it very versatile to use with a variety of Eyelet Outlet embellishments.

For this card I decided to use fall colored flowers and I added some additional reed stems that I drew in myself. I included screw brads for the wheels of the cart. The fall flower brads come in a variety of colors so I selected one of each color.

To finish the card I used the thin strips of glitter washi with black matte enamel dots on top.

Autumn Girl...

This is a girl I stamped from an image from Unity Stamps then die cut.
I colored with Copics and water color. I had a great time coloring
in the pumpkins and then adding the adorable pumpkins brads from the
Eyelet Outlet. They are a perfect size to add on to most cards.
I then included some falling leave brads.
I love that the packet they come in has different sizes and colors.

Finally I framed out the scene with fall washi tape from Eyelet Outlet
with pumpkins and leaves on it.
This is the first time I ever framed a card with washi tape.
I have been doing cards for over 20 years and why I have never done this
before I have no idea but it is simple and mitered corners are so easy to cut.

Thankful for the Little Things

Hello my Gnomie little friends! Have you seen our new release of Gnome Brads? These are an updated version from our past gnomes and do they deliver! They are in two styles and four different colors. I like them all but I especially like the gnomes with the outstretched arms. Super cute!

For my card, I used stamps from the Spellbinders Stamp of the Month for September. I stamped the large gnome and the fall banner on a stitched white rectangle piece and colored them with Copic markers. I used some very light blue markers to create a sky effect and drew the stalk and a leaf for the Sunflower Brad and the Mini Leaf Brad. At the base of the sunflower, I added a Pumpkin Brad. I used three of the four gnomes in the Gnome Brad Set as shown. I also added a bit of grass and then mounted the finished piece on to a dark orange die background. Bright orange cardstock was used behind the main piece and that was then mounted on a dark brown A2 card base.
