Winnipeg Police taser man, now in critical condition, may have banged head (maybe). [LINK]
"...the male was aggressive towards the officers for some reason..."
For some reason?
"It turns out the male ... wasn't involved in the domestic matter..."
Reading between the lines a bit...
If a person is out and about, minding his own business, and is approached by five "riled up" police officers (who are looking for someone else), it doesn't require much imagination to imagine how the encounter might go down...
Bad assumptions, an overly-aggressive approach, borderline violation of civil rights (maybe), righteous indignation by the innocent subject, extreme frustration expressed as clenched teeth and perhaps clenched fists at the end of rigidly straight arms.
The police, not having ever noticed that an "aggresive stance" is often completely indistinguishable from how any normal person might exhibit their feelings of frustration at being approached in an overly-aggressive manner by five riled-up police officers.
The limited information being provided indicates, based on the reported results, that the approach used might not have been the best choice.
I find my fists starting to clench when I read about incidents like this. It's not an "aggressive stance", it's pure frustration.
PS: Winnipeg leaders might want brush-up on their cheque-writing skills.
