It's a Girl Baby Shower!! Pink and Green Theme

Its time for a Baby Shower and even though summer is almost gone it doesn't mean we have to shy away from beautiful spring and bright colors as Pinks and Greens. I love making items with colors as a theme as much as an Item or character because It gives you tons of options to work with .You can pick one pattern and go with it or mix and match ! Chevrons are great as well as Paisleys here are some amazing Items I found to help you with your Girly Pink and Green Baby shower .

Invitations are always the first sneak peak to your party so show them what the theme is with one color or all of them . Have the fonts changed in the color scheme or just add one accent in the main color you are choosing ! Here we have the Baby Bump Silhouette in a beautiful invite from Lilybeedesigns that is super cute and is a DIY printable or for a little extra they will print for you . This little Elephant Invite and Thank you Cards from UrbanTickle are also a DIY printable that is an adorable green and pink mix as well as a great work on patterns. Both are stunning and I am sure are willing to help you customize as well .

Decoration and Location are very important .Most showers take place at home or in a restaurant/catering hall .Both are great options but of course at home you have more to work with because you make the rules ! Most places allow you to decorate as you wish as long as you do not ruin there in house set up. I always Like Flowers over balloons for a baby shower sometime balloons can look cheesy but that's just me! Diaper cakes are another great centerpiece option as well as strollers and rocking chairs you can rent. Table linen for this theme I would choose a white or a very light pink then let it pop with a lime green napkin ! I Love banners and for Baby showers you don't have to be limited to just one but you can have them in different sections of the party and use different ones as well . Here we have one from DesignGirl16 with great circle shapes and hot pink, pink and green patterned papers all tied in with matching ribbon. The second is a Gorgeous felt heart garland from Lullabymobiles that would be great on a wall or I would drape it over the mom to be chair or gift area ! The Fringe Backdrop from Bellaandteoboutique that is Amazing for a candy table backing a dais backing or anywhere that you want to make a focal point it is stunning. They all make great décor and all work well together .

Now you have to keep these guests busy because lets face it these parties can be a little boring for the not mommy yet friends in the group ! So games are a must . Have a guess how many pacifiers in a vase game where the closest guess wins. Another great thing to do is have a Chinese auction at the shower with little basket gifts and raffle tickets they get at the door or leave them in the napkin for them to use to pick the prizes they want then have the raffle called out during dinner to keep the ladies entertained. Another great game is Baby Shower Bingo from TooCuteInvites shown below. Guests write in the baby gift item they think will be shown and have them cross them out as you open your gifts. Once they have a line then Bingo they win the prize. Also I have a demo of how to make these adorable Diaper pencil holders you can leave on the desk or on the table with the games. They are super easy . All you need is a Diaper , Glue Gun, Ribbons, Toilet paper roll, Paper trim, and 3 inch circle cut out for bottom so the pencils don't fall out. Glue and roll the Diaper onto the toilet paper roll and roll it up. Add the 3 inch circle to the bottom then roll the trim onto the top and glue. Tie it all tight with the ribbons so it looks a little bunched up. Easy and Cute !

Favors are also a big part to have your guest remember your party. Candy tables are always favorites at baby showers as well as cookies and milk tables . This way guests can enjoy there favors there and at home too ! Of course you cant have a dessert area with out cupcakes or give the cupcakes in adorable boxes as the favors alone. These cupcake toppers from LenasCakes which are adorable little baby faces and baby bottle tags that help make your homemade cupcakes beautiful and cuts your decorating time in half ! Another adorable favor is this Washcloth lolly pop from Princessandthepbaby They are cute washcloths rolled up into a lolly pop design and you can add them to a great centerpiece or have them laid out onto the dish when guests sit at there tables.

Now normally I would talk about food but since these parties are usually catered we will leave that to the chefs ! and we can talk about these great gifts for mommy to be and baby !! Calling all Super Heroes .....its a Super Hero Party !

Every little boy loves Super heroes ! why wouldn't they want to be one ? They are cool , They have super powers, They can fly and they always save the day ! I think making this into a birthday theme is a great Idea. The best part about this theme is that there are so many hero's to work with. The colors are bright and bold . If its Batman or Superman or Captain America the colors you can include are Yellows, Reds, Blues, Black and White But if you don't want to use the actual commercial superhero you don't have to either ! That's whats great about etsy's new Custom Order button you can ask the sellers a question or throw them the challenge to make something your way !

Location can be anywhere where with this theme. Look into cool Science museums in the area where the kids are free to dress up and play a lot of states have these types of children's museums and they love birthday parties ! Of Course home inside or out is another great space where you can decorate yourself and the party ends when you say so .

Once the party location and date are set then time to shop for invites. Here are two great options a Printed version that comes printed and assembled for you by TooCuteInvites .They are bright and have your superhero flying right above ! The second item is a decoration and an activity as well . This Comic book kit by TheColorloft is great to leave on the tables where your guests will be sitting and then have them make there own comic strips with die cuts, pencils and glue ! great way to build memories together and sharing there comics !

More great decor and activity ideas is setting up a comic city scene with old cardboard boxes and some black, silver and any other color you like ! Simply paint the boxes and stack them to make buildings add a dark starry backdrop and you have a great photo spot to take pics of them all together saving the city ! Another east entertaining fix is having there favorite superhero fly in for a bit whether it be a professional or dad in costume I am sure they will be thrilled !

Every Hero needs energy and what's better then food to keep them fueled ! some cute Ideas are Mini Pizza webs - Make mini English muffin pizzas and have the mozzarella patterned in a web for a great effect ! Add Grapes to skewers and make them Grape laser wands . Cover Oreos in a yellow colored white chocolate and add words such as POW and BAM ! Buy Bat cookie cutters and make Batman cookies or mini sandwiches ! Red and blue jello in white containers for captain America is a cute treat too !

Butterfly Garden Birthday Party !

Butterfly and Garden parties are a big hit this year . Every little girl loves Butterflies and the whole concept of a caterpillar turning into this beautiful creature is a great educational theme as well. A home Garden is a great and easy location for this theme- your back or front yard will work well !
An indoor space or sun room would be perfect as well with the right decorations . A lot of city parks let you take out permits to use there location if your yard isn't right for the party. Another trend I have been seeing is Butterfly exhibits at local Zoos and Museums . With admission you can have the kids learn all about these creatures and more.

Once the Date and Location are definite here are some great invitations to consider. They are both sent in digital form where you can print from your own home or from a local print shop.
The First one on your left is from SwishPrintables . Its is very cute and the 2 butterflies are bold and bright and in adorable colors ! The second one is from Smallfrynotables its more of a garden theme showing the sun , other buggies and butterflies as well ! Matching items are available as well to complete the look.

Every birthday girl or boy needs a special outfit for that day ! If you want to go fancy and full of butterflies with tulle and whimsy then these are for you . On your top left you have this amazing dress in a orange and gold color scheme from Chachalouise its is made with satin and lace fabric and is stunning ! If your going for an indoor party look then these paper flowers from Leilasflowergarden These are great to hang on the wall to decorate a tree decal - on tables to dress up your table scape - Add them to vases as a centerpiece you can go on and on with these !
The Balloon buddy from Kidsloveletters comes in 3 great colors and patterns they are great as favors but I was thinking to hang them from trees as beautiful additions to your garden scape as well . Banners are always fantastic decor as well and this fabric one from Stitchinnetka is a beautiful color and fabric scheme and you can hang these everywhere as well ! mix and match is always OK to go beyond one color and look .

Now you need to keep these little buggies busy before they buzz out !! here are some ideas for crafts for this theme -

Decorate your own wings - Buy white poster board and draw the outline of butterfly wings big enough for the age of the guest . Punch out two holes on each side where the child's waste would go and you can add ribbon around the waste through the holes for them to wear there wings. Have a table set up with glitter , markers, stickers , ribbons etc and have the kids make there own wings !

Another great craft is have them decorate there own terracotta pots with paint and glitter etc then have them plant there own seeds for flowers to grow in - they will have to take care of the plant or flower when they get home teaching responsibility as well .

Favors to bring home are always a great memento from your child's special day. Starting from top left you have Favor tags from TooCuteInvites that are adorned with glitter and great to attach to any favor bag, terracotta pot etc. These hair clips from Thelaughygiraffy are adorable little ladybugs in sets of three so you can give one each in a goodie bag or give all three ! I love this art folio from Lilbdesigns not only the design but the concept of having crayons, chalk and mini board and a notepad all in one little wallet ! its genius to keep them busy anywhere ! These Felt Brooches from Melscreativewishes are a great favor as well that they can wear with a great outfit or decorate there backpacks with .

Food Ideas for this theme is simple as well . Stick to nature inspired theme
Fill Terracotta pots with all different types of granola mixes or sunflower seeds -age permitting of course.
Everyone loves little mud cups - fill cups with crumbled chocolate cake and add gummy worms for that buggy look .
Make a veggie platter as if its still in a planter using garden sticks to lable them have them "harvest" there own snacks.
Make a sub sand which and assemble each piece in a squiggly line add 2 celery sticks to the top of the last one for antlers and olives for eyes and you have a great Caterpillar !

Under the Sea Birthday Bash !

Summer is here and that means lots and lots of birthday parties and best of all, backyard parties!

The Under the Sea theme is very popular in the summer months for obvious reasons but it can be used any time of the year just bring the party indoors - minus the water of course! The theme is great because you have a lot to work with and it can be a very easy unisex birthday theme as well. There are so many great colors and animals to work with you don't just have to stick to one. Please take note of the great coupon codes at the end of this post.

Lets start with location. If you have a backyard with a pool then perfect, your set. But not all of us do, so if you don't have a pool, fill tons of baby pools - add sprinklers, slip-and-slide type water games and make your own "water park." Fill a colorful tub with water balloons and water guns and have them run around to cool each other off! You could also ask a community pool if they rent out an area for events and you can use their pool and facility. A park or beach park is another great option. Check to see if they permit gatherings and the cost, some may even be free you may just have to clean up! If you have a pool a great safety idea is to hire a lifeguard for the day to come and watch the kids in the pool. You hear of so many tragedies this time of year; it's better safe then sorry .

Once you have your location and a date set it's time for invitations. Here are two different examples of invites for this theme. The invitation on the left is a very cute Mermaid theme invitation from BonJourBerry
This invitation is a digital invitation that you can choose your size of 4x6 or 5x7. Once you order it you will get the file and print the invitation at home or your local printing store. The second invitation (right) is from TooCuteInvites and is a printed and assembled invite in the underwater theme in the 5x7 size and has a great little crab on it. Both shops offer matching items to complete the party needs as well.

Once that is in place then its time to plan the birthday boy or girls outfits ! Here are some great options. This Coral Ikat and Pink Chevron made by Wearyougo dress is a beautiful peasant dress mixing a great color combo or teal and coral for that underwater / beach feel but the best part is if you don't love this one you can design your own dress ! The Steel Blue with Orange Whale Applique by BrownOwlDesign is so cute for your birthday boy to wear on his big day The colors are great and it can be worn again after the party! The Felt Fish Crown by Feltlikecelebrating is great for both boys and girls and also comes in different colors another great picture prop as well for those special pictures! The Personalized Sea Creators Birthday Shirt by JustJoshinKids is another great unisex shirt and it is personalized for the birthday boy or girl with their age and name! All great and very special .

Now its time to decorate! Use aqua blue, coral , peach and sea foam green as a great color pallet and use it in linens, napkins and utensils. Balloons in blues representing bubbles are cute too. Here are some great items to use as well. Banners are always great and personal. This Mermaid banner from Teapartydesigns is adorned with rhinestones, glitter and already strung for you ready to hang. Another adorable product is these Seahorse Wash clothes from Princessandthepbaby would make great favors but I would add them to a centerpiece ! fill a beach pail as a balloon weight and add these to make a beautiful table scape. The little Goldfish cupcake toppers by Yourlittlecupcake are great way to show off your cupcakes! They come in sets of 12 and they also sell the matching wrappers . Hang green and blue streamers from your screen door making an entry way and have some falling straight down to add that effect of entering a water oasis would be perfect for setting the scene!

Activities to keep these kiddies busy are a must and here are some that would be fun for them to play! Set up a table as if you were at the carnival playing the goldfish toss game. Buy the same amount of small goldfish bowls as you have kids and fill them with water and a little goldfish. Make them line up and toss a ping pong ball onto the bowls and if they get one in they get to keep the fishes inside and the bowl. Have them all wait until everyone goes and as a surprise give each kid a fish bowl so they don't get upset as they leave attach a little zip lock bag with fish food and a favor tag as a thank you and you have both a favor and a game!

Another cute idea is fill a kiddie pool with little blue and white balloons representing water. Cut out little card stock fish in different colors and attach a paper clip to their mouths. Place them in the tub and have each child fish with their fishing pole that you can use a wooden dowel paint it and add string with a magnet at the end. Whoever fishes out a special fish wins a prize.

Sand art is another way to keep them busy you can set up a sand art station and buy different color sands and little containers they can fill and make there own thank you gift they will remember forever!

Here are more great favors and or a prize idea to hand out! Fill these adorable 4x6 muslin hand stamped bags by Littlechicklets with candies or toys the ink comes in many colors as well. This Little Crab hair clip by MarmaladeCreations is perfect for all the little girls there! it is a 1x2 snap clip and comes in different backgrounds colors as well. I love these Eco Friendly Fish Crayons by ChildhoodStore they are perfect for little hands and are in a set of 6 2x1 1/2 inch crayons and are made by soy/bees wax so they are green too ! Also another green option are these Reusable coloring pages by BabyZebracreations that they can use over and over again ! just color with washable markers and wash them when finished ! I am sure they would love any of these products.

Last but not least you have to feed these little fishies use your imagination and try some of these out.

Fish shaped sandwiches - make your favorite sandwich then cut them use a fish cookie cutter or other favorite underwater animal.
Goldfish crackers in cupcake cupcakes that they can snack on as they play are always a favorite treat.
Macaroni "Sea Shell" Salad - Make your favorite macaroni salad and use the large shell shaped pastas.
Blue Hawaiian Punch Bowl - add some Fish ice cube shapes to make it like fishes are swimming in there.
Carrot sticks can be turned into "crab legs" with dip
Rice Crispy Treat Star Fish - make Rice Crispy Treats and use a star shaped cookie cutter for the shape

Use your imagination! Decorate the table with brown sugar for a sandy effect as well and use matching color linens to tie it all together.

No matter what you choose to do have fun! and make the party about the children most importantly isn't it all about them and there day anyway?
