Grade 4: iPads and Landscapes

It felt great to get outside this morning to take pictures with my 4th graders.
After a short discussion, we took the iPads outside to take photographs of the trees on the school property and photographs of fall colors in general.
Back inside, we reviewed the photos and got ourselves prepped for painting our landscapes. It was pleasant to see them navigating through the painting project successfully without any real directions. They know how to paint! They came up with solutions that worked for them and they did not rush to add unachievable details in. Normally kids will try to get it all done at once but I was glad to see that my kids knew better on their own today.
We will be finished next week. Stay tuned!

Interactive Multi Media Mural

Talk about a beast of a project! The Interactive Multi Media mural is nearing completion.
The mural will have 4 iPads load with student created digital books uploaded into them. My part was to create the display for these iPads. Here is part of the IMM mural team (my Principal, the media specialists and choral music teachers, Sam Berk and Ashley Garguilo TCNJ Art Students are not present)
There is a lot more to add to the display but we are glad to have things moving along towards our May 31 unveiling :-)

Green Screen Art Project

This is the last you will hear about my Great Wave project that I have been in love with. My 4th graders painted an awesome rendition of the famous painting and then we took it a step further by doing a technology project in which the kids added a photo of themselves into a copy of the original painting using computers.
Here is Will in front of the green screen and then super imposed into The Great Wave. What fun we had!

Thank you to Tricia Fuglestadt for guiding me to the right answers for this project!!
