20 July 2011 - Toasted enoki ham roll for night snack

The remaining ham seemed to be mocking him from the chiller section. The mind's saying no, but the body's moving on its own.

Brought the ham out and found 5 slices in all.
Used one packet of enoki mushroms he had bought earlier on, 3 packets for $1.10.
Chopped an inch off the end and rinsed the mushrooms for a bit.
Divided the mushroom clump into smaller portions and wrapped them up with the ham.
Toasted them open-end down for 6 minutes before flipping over to toast for another 3 minutes.

Love the convenience of a toaster oven.

Nitrates from the ham flavoured the mushrooms, didn't need any additional salt.

17 July 2011 - Toasted egg for supper

Toasted each side of the ham for around a minute.
Placed ham on aluminum foil (to catch any overflowing egg) before setting into a small bowl.
Poured egg onto the ham-bowl and sprinkled some black pepper.
Toasted the pairing for 6 minutes.

The egg's surface turned out rubbery, while the insides were still runny. The egg tasted fine as the ham had imparted its salty flavour. Any tips on how else to make this?

21 May 2011 - Tortilla Wraps for dinner

Itchy to start wrapping after viewing this on YouTube.

Cooked the remaining crab sticks and bacon, 1 large portobello and 1 white button mushroom. Sadly, totally forgot about the cheese slices while wrapping the bacon version. Mom and Aunt seemed to like it. Managed to also clear some bread in the next serving, with similar filling.

Was making scrambled egg when Dad came home. He cooked some ham and sliced more tomatoes, and did not forget the cheese this time. Doesn't this look more plump and appetizing than the previous? In any case, he still can't get enough of the wrapping action, really enjoyed doing the wrapping and cutting the tortilla wrap into half.

sour cream salmon, black pepper beef and special sandwich

breakfast of pork floss and ham sandwich. pork floss was held in place by the margarine, and the ham by the slice of cheese underneath. 3 slices of bread in total, he apologises if it isn't evident from the picture, but he was rushing for time. one thing for sure, it's yummy and brimming with love.

he came home drenched, because the work environment's ceiling caved in due to accumulated rainfall. felt a little ill, so she assured him that she would whip up something delicious while he took a shower and a little nap.

sour cream salmon - rubbed with lime, white pepper powder and salt before pan-frying. dabbed with sour cream and it was ready to eat. sour cream.... is missing in this picture series.

black pepper beef with diced red bell pepper - bite sized portions, easy to eat. however, the fairprice label black pepper sauce seemed to lack punch in the spiciness department. still delectable in any case.

a tiring hamburger sunday morning

he woke up early in the morning for the start of phase 2 training. had half a glass of milk before setting off.

*fast forward to returning home*

he opened the door to see everyone else sleeping. no food, except for 8 eggs in a container filled with warm water.

a hungry man's gotta do what a hungry man's gotta do. whipped out the frying pan, put on the heat, dash of oil, and started frying the ham. now... he was hungry after all that running and the only ready food was egg. so, he cracked one and found that they were half boiled eggs. lovely.

revelation: in between waiting for the ham to cook, he unknowingly consumed 5 eggs. yes, bash him.

feeling a little more energetic, he could now peel the lettuce and chop the tomatoes.

crunchy lettuce having morning swim

sliced local tomatoes - the color wasn't too red, but being 1/4 the price of the malaysian crunchies, it was selected.

by this time, all the ham slices were done.

prepared the plates and buns. at this point of time, everyone else was still sleeping, oblivious to the aroma. or maybe there wasn't.

the final product - squeezed in 2 slices of ham, 2 slices of cheese, 1 folded lettuce and 2 slices of tomatoes. he couldn't help but have 2 of them.

and finally, after summoning them so many a time, they got up one by one. she tried to make it up by pouring him some chocolate noir cereal in chocolate milk. by the way, this one has a rich chocolatey core, he likes this better than his favourite kokokrunch now.

went another step to make a heart-shaped egg to shoved into his burger. however, he was conscious that he already had 5. too bad for him, no fried egg.

super sandwich

easy to make, nutritious to eat, so he thinks. he forgot to take a picture of those that she had made the other day. but here is what he loves to eat, super sandwich. woke up late and had it around 2pm today.

victims of the day (eats 2):
6 slices of toasted bread
4 slices of cheese - ntuc fairprice housebrand
4 slices of picnic ham - budget brand from ntuc fairprice xtra
2 crunchy malaysian tomatoes (really good!) - 4 for $2
2 eggs

missing from this list would be cucumbers, which he finds adds more crunch to the sandwich.
