Sweet - Helena Johansson (with a tutorial)

Hi there! This layout is my take on the November sketch - a beautiful sketch that I had so much fun interpreting!

I have lots of Dusty Attic chipboard on this one:

Scroll #8 (DA0626)
Decorative Scroll #2 (DA0206)
Vine Border (DA0459)
Flutterbies #2 (DA0713)
Birdcage #5 (DA0678)
Word Pack #4 (DA1077)

I have a little tutorial further down on how I painted the scrolls.

Papers are from Maja Design.

Here's the sketch:

And of course, I have lots of close-ups:

The "sweet" chippie was painted white, then misted with light green mist and finally I added Clear Gloss Varnish (DA0901) on it.

Here's how I painted the scrolls. On the photos you see the smaller ones from the Scroll #8 set, but I have used the same technique on the larger one, and on the decorative scrolls.

First, I painted the scrolls with white gesso. I have then used two different kinds of embossing powder (Mix'd Media Inx) - colors Jasmine and Leather. I have used Emboss gloss as glue.

After the gesso had dried I covered almost the entire chippie with emboss gloss, sprinkled Jasmine embossing powder on it and then dried with my heat gun. This gives a great texture to the chippie!

My next step was to add emboss gloss only to the edges, and then sprinkled embossing powder, color Leather, on top. This powder is brown at first, but after heating it turns into a bronze color - very cool!

A couple of close-ups on the scrolls:

Thank you for stopping by today!

Sweet Dreams - Vicky Alberto

Hello, Vicky blogging today to share a layout I created using a picture of my first born as an infant (11 years ago!).  This is one of my favourite baby pictures of him.  I dug out some Pion papers and then started to add gorgeous Dusty Attic products.

On the "sweet dreams" (DA0943) title, I randomly inked it with distress inks, leaving a little of the bare chipboard exposed (for a two-toned effect).

I treated the "corner flourish #2" (DA0629) the same way with inks (as the title), and then added some pretty "bridal veil" blooms (DA0805).

Sometimes an easy chipboard treatment is the perfect way to complement your photo and paper choices.

Thanks for joining me on the blog today!

Precious Memories - Tina Dalton

Hi Everyone
I scrapped this layout last week as I was really wanting to use this photo of my Grand Daughter Shontay, even though you cant see her face, we had a great time with the camera this particular day, she grabbed this hat of mine and was dancing around on the grass having such a magical time.  Of course I was off like a rocket to grab the camera.

I love the birds on the wire Chipboard and just felt it would suit the look and feel of this layout added with some other whimsical pieces and a title it came together really well.

I painted all my chipboard pieces white, lightly sanded them to give them the shabby look and painted the birds using liquid pearls, they are light but added just a bit of color.

Dusty Attic pieces used are :

Birds on a wire : DA0708
Precious :  DA0035

SO MANY Projects - Rachelle Sigurdson

Hello, today I am here to share with you a couple cards & LO's I did, using lots of Dusty Attic's Amazing chipboard.I love working with chipboard!!! The cards I made are Christmas Stocking cards. I have been making, the tiny stockings, using the Dusty Attic Christmas Banners& thought I would make a couple cards,in fact I may even make more.
Before I started to Scrapbook, one of my hobbies was making Christmas Stockings. These cards are stitched together, just like a stocking, leaving the top open for notes, tags& gift Certificates,or whatever else you can squeeze in. Speaking of Gift Certificates, you can now get them from Dusty Attic, plus you can order your own chipboard through Dusty Attic & have it delivered right to your door. Here is my first card,it measures about 4.5 inches wide & 11 inches in length. Oh,you can also hang these up for display....

I used Vintage Frost Basics Collection from Maja Design

The flowers & berries are Petaloo. I painted most of the chipboard with white crackle paint, then rubbed in a brown chalk, once the crackle dried, to bring out the cracks. I used Prima white sand texture for the snow effect..

I hand cut out the little circles for the banner, from the paper, I was using, inked the edges, applied clear varnish & sprinkled on some glitter while the varnish was wet..I did paper layers, used lace, chipboard & pearls in my layers...

Used snowflakes as buttons on the stocking...

Here is my next Stocking Card...

I also used " A Gift for You Collection from Maja Design"

Here are some close ups of detail...

I did distressed, hand stitched, paper layers, using DA chipboard, lace & pearls in my layers..On most of the chipboard I used white crackle......

I dipped the poinsettia in water, then heat gunned it so that the petals would curl up.Then I applied 2 coats of red pepper color ink, then a thick coat of  clear crackle.Once the crackle I dry brushed in some black chalk to bring out the cracks.I then applied Prima white sand texture, sprinkling on some glitter as the texture was still wet. I also traced the outer piece of the poinsettia,to make leaves under with the paper I was working with. I then glued all the pieces together, using tweezers,to hold it together & giving the glue time to dry...

Here is a LO I did,for the 7 Dots Challenge, using Texture. I am not really good at using all the different medias on paper, but I do love, lots of the ART, that I see out there. So this was perfect for me,I cheated, the paper was already done, now all I had to do is add my texture. That is why I love to work with chipboard,I can play & move it around &get my texture

Here are some closeups of detail.....

I loved the 7 Dots paper,as was,so all I did ,was apply clear crackle, where Finn already had used the crackle.Using white Corrugate Paper,I played with color, then a coat of clear crackle & glitter,as shown in the 2nd last layer on the bottom. I also applied some white sand texture paste & more glitter......

For the tile I used winter pine TA,& Wild plum color wash,I then applied a coat of crackle. Once the crackle dried, I dry brushed on some gesso, to bring out the cracks & to tone down the color. I also applied white sand texture paste & glitter to the top. I applied clear crackle to the fence, wagon wheels, decorative frame& branches. Once the crackle dried I brushed on some cinder TA,removed the excess, let dry, then dry painted on some gesso. I also applied, the white sand texture paste, onto the top of the wagon wheel, decorative frame & branches....

I used Cinder TA,on the chicken wire, glued it down, then glued some crystal glass beads into the chicken wire. I used Cinder TA on the stem of the wattle blossom. I stained the blossoms with wild plum, then a coat of clear varnish, sprinkled on glitter & micro beads while the varnish was wet. Once that had dried I applied white sand texture & glitter....

The plum flowers are prima & the green flowers under are Dusty Attic,I glued the 2 together to make them look like the cabbages, then applied white sand texture ....I used white crackle, on the snow flakes....

On the lower photo,I dipped burlap string into gesso that is in the tags...& painted the burlap with gesso, that is behind the photo....
