Father's Day!

A little belated... but I feel so blessed to be married to someone who is such an amazing father! Broc is such a great dad! Aside from his constant attempts to make Crew laugh, or play ball, or teach Crew to play the guitar or to do laundry... the one thing that makes him such a great dad is his example. I think Crew is so lucky to have such amazing roll model in his life! He totally adores Broc and is always sad when he has to go to work in the mornings. He will say, "I am coming... I go to work to!"

I win the "Wife of the Year" award for forgetting to request Father's Day off at work. I had asked for the Friday and Saturday before Father's Day for the Wasatch Back Race (pics to come) but totally spaced Sunday. I, in turn got scheduled a 12 hour shift. I never work all day on Sundays, let alone Father's Day. I felt horrible! Let's just say it was a bit impossible to get it off! So we celebrated it on the Wednesday before! Crew and I got up early and surprised Broc with breakfast in bed. If you haven't noticed, breakfast in bed is a big deal in our house!

I just love this kid, he is always cracking us up!

Since Broc was at work all day, Crew and I had fun making the sugar cookie dough for our dessert that night! Crew LOVES to help in the kitchen! He is a really good stirrer!

He is a great taster too!

I know this post is about father's day, but Crew is just such a cute kid. I am in love with this pic. It totally captures his real smile! We don't get many pics like this!

Then, we made this sign for Daddy!

Well I had plans of making this great meal: steak, potatoes, rolls- yum, right?! Well let's just say that plan fell through so we ended up going to Texas Roadhouse instead. The food is always amazing there. Broc got ribs and I enjoyed a steak! It ended up being even better than the meal I had planned to cook because there was no clean up!

I don't know what it is about Texas Roadhouse, but
something about those peanuts... that just makes us nuts!
Crew even joined in!

it has just become a silly tradition! And I love it!

Crew loved running and smashing the nuts on the floor!

Crew and Broc singing the "ABC's"! The guy behind Broc really wanted to join in!

Doesn't this pic just melt your heart! I truly feel so blessed to have these two in my life!

Then we came home and enjoyed some fruit pizza for dessert!

Father's Day: Sunday, June 21 before I left for work...
I let Broc open his father's day presents! Crew did most of the work!

It was so funny, Crew kept saying, "Happy Father's day Mommy!"

Happy Father's Day Broc! You are an amazing dad! We love you so much!

The Crazy Month of May!

May was so busy, I didn't have time to post everything that I wanted to. The month started off at Women's Conference! It was amazing (as it always is!) We were only able to go to one day, but it was so fun to be there with my sis! We have so much fun together!

After Women's Conference, we headed to our cousin Zack's wedding dinner. Aren't they such a cute couple?
They had some amazing food!

Her family was Tongan, and they definitely know how to party! They had some amazing music and dancers! It was awesome!

Crew tried to dance like them!
Shake it baby! He was cracking us up all night! You've got to watch his moves!

Buggy Beau and Crew

They got married the next morning in the SLC temple. Here are some cute pics while we were waiting for the new couple to come out!

Crew seriously is a little dancer- always bustin' his moves no matter where we are!

Showing off more of his moves!

I guess it must have wore him right out!

Grandpa and Crew... so cute!

He loved smelling the flowers
Taylor loved playing with Crew!

Zack and Chelsey and their familes

The luncheon...

Let's just say that it was a very long day for Crew, especially without a nap. Despite a few tantrums on the floor- all in all he was a pretty good boy for such a long day!
Giving hugs to Aunt Shelly!

May 9th: The annual Mother's Day dinner at Maddox! Each year on the Saturday before Mother's Day we go to Maddox with Broc's family.

May 10th: Mother's Day!

I have to say that I definitely felt special! Look at this amazing breakfast Broc made for me!

Nothing like breakfast in bed... plus a little Crew Boo stealing all the berries! Life can't get any better than this!

I feel so blessed to be a mother! I can't imagine my life without this sweet boy! He has brought so much joy into our home! I wonder what I did to deserve my two boys Broc and Crew. I sometimes wonder if I am giving back to Crew the joy and love he gives me each day. Am I teaching him enough? Am I reading to him enough?
There are so many things that I wonder if I am enough, with this overwhelming calling of being a mother? I am so grateful to Broc for telling me that I am enough! Even if I am not all the time!
I have felt a love that I have never experienced and I am thankful to my Heavenly Father for letting us raise this special little boy.

It wouldn't be right to celebrate Mother's Day without a little tribute to the other moms in my life!

My mom is the most unselfish person I know. She is ALWAYS doing for somebody else, and doesn't think twice before offering to help! There is nothing this lady can't do. I am so grateful for her amazing Christlike example. She is always smiling no matter the circumstances and will give anything to make sure everyone around her is happy~ even if it means sacrificing some of her own needs. She has the funnest personality and will bust a dance move just to get you to laugh! I feel like she is my best friend, someone that I can trust and count on no matter what. I feel so blessed to have you in my life! I love you Mom!

Lesli: a.k.a. Mom Durrant! I feel so grateful to her for raising such an amazing son. I remember back before we were married, Broc and I had a date planned; he ended up not being able to go because he wanted to help his mom with some spring cleaning. What high school boy does that? Only one raised by an amazing mom, I guess! Lesli is always planning fun trips, dinners, outings... anything that will give an excuse for the family to get together! She is the funnest person to go to a movie with, her laugh is so contagious! She is always the one initiating scripture study or prayers and her testimony is so sweet! I am so grateful to have such an amazing example in my life! Thank you for always helping out with Crew and for making me feel so welcome in your family! Love you!
