Digital Two for Tuesday 23

So here we are at week 23 with two fun images and another amazing designer to showcase. This week our guest designer is Jennifer. I love her use of lace and buttons and all the texture her designs have on them. Here is here bio in her words. "I am a 45 year old married mom of 3 teenage boys. I have been married for 23 years to my college sweetheart, and my family is truly the light of my life! God has blessed me in abundance with them! :) I'm a transplanted Texas girl living in the snowbelt of Ohio. and we love the snow!
I have been papercrafting for about 10 years now. I first started scrapbooking and then was invited to that one notorious rubber stamp party! the rest is history! grins! my style has always revolved around the vintage/shabby chic. and oh my, I have to have my embellies. love love love my ribbons and trims! I have a phenom stash of vintage buttons that I love to use as well. my fave techniques are distressing and aging papers. I also enjoy the cracked glass technique as well as collage backgrounds.

For the football card, I watercolored the image using my inks and watercolor brushes. I then used my ink squirty tool (I can never remember the official term for that thing! grins!!) to help give an older feel to the piece. I took a piece of Making Memories paper and aged it by first crinkling it and then rubbing my ink pad over the top. the edges were torn and inked as well. I added some wonderful embellies from the MM vintage findings line - cloth tag, 'wish' coupon, button tied with twine and then attached to wide grosgrain ribbon, & school paper stapled to corner. the main image was popped up on foam tape for added dimension. the edges of the card base were inked with vanilla craft.

On the brother and me card, I used this beautiful paper by Webster's Pages, Terri Conrad collection. the edges of it were covered in brown glitter glue. The digi image was colored with inks and watercolor brushes. the girl's headband and collar were painted as well with pink shimmerz. this pieces was cut out and popped up on extra thick foam tape for added dimension. I used a wonderful circle paper doilie and velvet ric rack trim from JoAnn's to frame the digi. Vintage buttons from my stash helped to complete the look. A velvet leaf from Prima and velvet flower from Making Memories finish off the card. I kept the sentiment fairly generic so that it could be used for a thinking of you, Mother's Day, card for my hubby to send to one of his sisters, or whatever other occassion might happen to arise in the future!"
You can see more of Jennifer's exciting designs at her blog.

Digital Two for Tuesday 11

Each week our guest designers continue to amaze me. This week's designer Donalda is no exception. She has created two wonderful projects. Here is Donalda's bio. "I'm Donalda Martin and my blog is Donalda's Creative Place. I have been married to my best friend and the love of my life as of August 20th for 38 years. We have 3 grown sons Keith(36), Kurtis(34), Kalvin(25) and 2 daughters in love (Lisa and Keith, Amanda and Kurtis) both are from the same family. You guessed it brothers married sisters. No grandchildren yet but we do have puppies and kitties. We have lived in several states, right now we are living in Indiana. I have had to retire due to loosing the sight in one eye from Glucoma and having trouble with the other one plus other medical problems but that has not stopped me from doing what I love. I have done crafts all my life. I have owned 3 ceramic stores and made porclain dolls. I then started doing scrapbooking, then stamping and card making. I really love all the mediums that can be used. My husband is going to have to get me a larger room for all my stuff. " Here are the two projects Donalda has created for this week.
