Before I rave over my new $10 Design Book I must take a moment to send a huge thank you to everyone who posted their well wishes for David yesterday. He read every single one of them and they definitely put a smile on his face and mine. You guys taking the time out of your day to say your sweet words made both of us so appreciative of your concern. I'll definitely update when we hear the latest results. Love you guys!
So, onto my deal of the day! Last week we made a stop into my favorite antique malls and I scored two things! One of the goodies was this absolutely fabulous New York Times Book of Interior Design and Decoration. {The other goodie I'll share with you later}
Of course the title jumped out at me but so did that yummy linen cover!
I had a complete blast browsing through the different sections that focused on specific rooms and specific homestyles. 90% of the book's pictures were in black and white but that was ok to me, as it was published in 1965! I thought I'd take a couple of pictures to share with you all of my favorite rooms. I was so giddy while looking though it! : )
I love the black walls of this room and side lamps. To me it looks like a Bryn room right away.
Many of the pictures featured the Saarinen tulip table and mix-matched chairs. I adored these cane chairs paired with the table and the parsons desk in the background.
The hexagon floors in this kitchen had me at first glance! The chandelier was also a nice touch.
I pretty much fell in love with this art gallery wall, coffee table, and sofa!
Another trend I noticed throughout the book was the use of animal print--it was everywhere! Oh, and can you see the tulip chairs in the background? Love.
Hello perfection! I am smitten with this paisley rug, chandelier, table and chairs, and the dresser.
The bedroom on the left speaks to me because I adore those oversized table lamps. I am also digging the bold pattern on the sofa to the right!
I don't know if you see it or not, but those cabinets have country names on them and the book said they were probably used for storage on a ship. I would love to recreate something similar in my home!
Last but not least, this room gets me excited due to the dark wall with its art gallery, too! I'm loving the table lamp, the bamboo shades, and the clean line sofa. ♥
I love this book to pieces. Thanks for letting me share some of my favorite images with you. Enjoy your weekend, loves.
xoxo

Twilight {Zone}
I gave in to the temptation of teeny-bopper lit. I can't have practically all my female students talking about this series and not be in the know.
I'm happy to report that I am almost done with the first book and have three more to go after it! I haven't read a book for pleasure in years, pretty sad, I know.
What the book has:
suspense √
love story √
vampires √
Wow--I bet you're just thinking that probably makes the perfect book, right? ;-) Who wouldv'e thought?
Now I'm getting set for the movie debut in December, and I don't even like movies. Hopefully it won't disappoint! Check out the trailer:
