Stamps and Smiles Blog Hop

Here is the last of the five new releases from Stamps and Smiles. All week long you have seen samples using the new sets. This has been a full week of challenges, giveaways and now our first Blog Hop, which starts now. The new releases will be available at the Stamps and Smiles store at 10 P.M. Central time after the Blog Hop.

So I would like to introduce the Cuppy Land set, which is 4 x 8 inches, a total of 15 stamps. I chose to make a little scene out of my stamps, perhaps where Cuppy lives. I did a lot of stamping and masking to create this scene. I airbrushed the sky and the grass. Did some paper piecing on the lollipops and the Cuppy icing. Added some white glaze pen for the dots, red glaze pen for the cherries. And the rest is just Copic markers. I am excited to see what the rest of the design team came up with using this set, the possibilities are endless. Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Now let's get this Blog Hop bouncing... if you started with my blog, you should visit Cindy Haffner's blog now, as she is starting us off so you can collect the letters in their proper order.

If you have come here from Jenn's blog, my clue for you is the letter "A".

Now hop on over to Pam's blog for your next letter. Once you have all 14 letters, please email the phrase to
stampsandsmilesstore@yahoo.com
One lucky participant will win the entire 5 set release, another lucky participant will win a $25 Stamps and Smiles Gift Certificate. The winners will be announced on Saturday, May 9th at 3:00 pm. Good luck and have fun.

Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenge 6

Thursday is Sketch Challenge day on the Stamps and Smiles blog. Once again, Mercy Kerin has come up with a wonderful sketch. Be sure to visit the blog and see what the Fresh Batch Sketch team has come up with.

For my card, I used Mama Bunny from the Mama Bunny Loves You set and the little girl bunny from the Egg Hunt set. Isn't it great how she nestles in Mama's arms?

I stamped the images with Memento black ink on Cryogen white paper, coloring with the following Copics:

Mama Bunny - E42, E43
Top - YG11
Apron - YG45
Girl Bunny - E41, E42
Top - YR21
Dress - YR24
Ears, cheeks and nose - R20

I paper pieced the cupcake on Mama Bunny and used a white glaze pen for the icing and the bunny tail. I used my airbrush and YR24 to color the gold flower. The "I Love You" is from the Egg-Stra-Special stamp set. I colored the tag with YG11 and C1 to coordinate with the paper.

I hope you will stop by the Stamps and Smiles blog and play along with our challenge. If you upload to SCS, please use the tag SASSC6 on your card.

Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenge 4

Today Stamps and Smiles is previewing the upcoming release of the Sleepy Bunny stamp set. Again, another cute set with lots of design possibilities.

This is the last of four sketches for Stamps and Smiles Challenge. You have until Friday February 27 at 7:00 pm Central time to upload your cards to SCS using the keyword SASSC4.

One random entry from each of the daily challenges will win the stamp set releasing that day. One random entry who completes all 4 challenges will win the entire release - a $75 value. Please have your card uploaded to SCS by Friday February 27 at 7pm. The winners will be announced on Monday, March 2 on the Stamps and Smiles blog.

Remember please include SASSC4 in the keywords on SCS.

Here is my card for todays challenge. I stamped him on Cryogen white paper with Memento black ink.
Copics used:
Bunny - E41, E42
Nose and ears - R20
Blanket - B91, B93
Carrots - YR12, G24
Shirt - YG41
Pillow - B91
Basket - E33, E35

I used a lot of markers on the eggs, too many to mention. Lastly, I used C1 to add a shadow below him and then B000 for the background which I diluted with the blender pen. I also used Souffle and Glaze pens on the eggs for some added texture. I created the background paper by repeatedly stamping the carrots stamp. I then used an orange Souffle pen and G24 Copic to color them. I just love this sleepy bunny and there are so many possibilites of what you can put into the dream bubble. Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

I had so much fun making my Easter Basket with the Mama Bunny set that I decided to make another.
For this one, I used my Spellbinder's Mega Nestabilities Curved Rectangles die set. Rather than a handle I chose to add ribbon loops on the ends, again secured by brads but I added circles to hide the ends. I think this would make a great basket for a little boy. The finished size of this basket is 6" wide, 4" high and 2 3/4" deep.

Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenge 2

Today Stamps and Smiles is previewing the upcoming release of the Mama Bunny Loves You stamp set. This is such a cute set with lots of design possibilities.

Now through Thursday February 26, there will be a new sketch challenge for Stamps and Smiles. This is the second of four sketches. You have until Friday February 27 at 7:00 pm Central time to upload your cards to SCS using the keyword SASSC2.

One random entry from each of the daily challenges will win the stamp set releasing that day. Also one random entry who completes all 4 challenges will win the entire release - a $75 value. Please have your card uploaded to SCS by Friday February 27 at 7pm. The winners will be announced on Monday, March 2 on the Stamps and Smiles blog.

Remember please include SASSC2 in the keywords on SCS.

For my sketch challenge card, I stamped the three eggs, masked them and then added Mama Bunny behind, of course on Cryogen white with Memento black ink.

Here are the Copics I used:
Bunny - E50, E51
Inner Ears - RV00
Shirt - BV01
Apron - V15
Icing - RV00
Cupcake - E13
Eggs - G40, BV04, Y32, RV02, RV34

For the background, I colored it with Y32 and then swirled my blender pen to break up the color.

I used my Spellbinders Tag die for the saying, airbrushing RV02 before removing it from the die. The lace is a Martha Stewart border punch. The DP is from Pebbles Inc. As a final step I added various Stickles to the eggs for some added bling. Finished size is 5 3/4" square.

For this next project, I decided I wanted to make an Easter Basket. I started with my largest Spellbinders Oval Nestabilites. Once I had the front and the back made, I just cut a rectangle, angled the sides and adhered it to the ovals to create the basket. Be sure to click on the photo to see it in a larger size, Mama bunny is just adorable.

Of course I stamped Mama Bunny and baby bunny on Cryogen paper with Memento Rich Cocoa, coloring with the following Copics:
Mama - E41, E42
Baby - E42, E43
Cheeks and ears - R20
Blouse - G20
Cuffs and collar - G21
Apron - B00, B02
Icing - RV02, RV04
Cupcake - E42, E43

I used B04 and RV04 to airbrush the flowers to match and also to color the ribbon.

For the handle, I used my Martha Stewart Lace border punch, then layered some DP down the center. I attached it with brads to the basket.

The DP is from Imaginesce. The stripes are the reverse side of the dotted paper. The flowers are from Prima.

The great thing about this stamp set is all the possibilities. You can have Mama holding the baby as I have shown, or she can hold an egg or the carrots or the basket. How fun is that and how creative.

New Design Team and Stamp Release

I am very excited and honored to announce I have been chosen as a Design Team member for a new company called Stamps and Smiles. Jennifer Meyer from Sweet Designs has created this new line of stamps, and they are just as sweet as they can be.

This week the Design Team and I will be showing you samples from each of the soon to be released stamp sets.

My card for today uses the new stamp set called Cuppy Love. Isn't she just adorable? This set includes two sentiments along with two fun embellishments. The set measures 3 x 4 inches.

For my first card, I stamped the image on Cryogen white paper with Memento Rich Cocoa and of course colored with my Copics.
Cuppy - R81, R83, R85
Faces - E00, R20
Lil' Cup - B000, B00
Cherry - R46
Heart - R83

After coloring the icing on Cuppy with R83, I used my blender pen in a circular motion, just letting the solution dilute the color randomly. I think it gave it a nice icing appearance.

The circle behind Cuppy is a paper doily I found at Michaels. I used my airbrush and R85 to add the color, also airbrushing the pearl brad in the center of the flower and around the sentiment. I colored the ribbon with R83 to match the paper as well. Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Now through Thursday February 26, there will be a new sketch challenge for Stamps and Smiles. This is the sketch for today. You will have until Friday, February 27 at 7:00 pm Central time to upload your cards to SCS using the keyword SASSC1.

One random entry from each of the daily challenges will win the stamp set releasing that day. Also one random entry who completes all 4 challenges will win the entire release - a $75 value. Please have your card uploaded to SCS by Friday, February 27 at 7pm. The winners will be announced on Monday, March 2 on the Stamps and Smiles blog.

Remember please include SASSC1 in the keywords for SCS .

Here is my card for today's challenge using the new release, Cuppy Love.

I stamped Cuppy on Cyrogen white paper with Memento black ink.
Copics used:
Cuppy - E41, YG03, Y00, B00, R20
Lil Cup - E41, Y00, YG03, r20, R85

I used my Spellbinders Oval Nestabilities to die cut the image, airbrushing R85 before removing it from the die. The DP is from Imaginesce. The heart border is a Martha Stewart punch. I airbrushed the flowers, the pearls and the brad for the flower to match my DP.
