Ships Ahoy - assorted cards

As you've noticed by now, most of the sets I have been using to make the cards to donate to Operation Write Home use retired sets. This is another of those sets, Ships Ahoy.

I used colored pencils on this image.
the "frame" was stamped with the retired stamp,
Old World Map, then sponged with inks

stamped with Versamark ink then
dabbed with chalks on a cotton ball
(some refer to it as the Poppin' Pastels technique)

this is actually an image from Calm Seas set, water colored.
Stipple Shells stamps were used to create the back ground
both sets are retired

Another retired nautical stamp set, Lighthouse,
colored with pencils.

Thanks for looking =)

  1. I live nowhere near an ocean, but I can smell the salty air and feel the breeze as I look at these! You have done an incredible job on both the backgrounds and coloring the images!! Love the twine on these!!
