"Inspired By" Blog Hop Hosted by JoysLife.com

Hello!  Glad you can join us for Joy's Life's "Inspired By" Blog Hop!

If you came over from Maria then you are in the right spot.  If you stumbled across this post and want to start hopping from the beginning, you can do so here.

I must have been hungry when I got my inspiration for this hop!  I remembered seeing these cool Rainbow cakes and figured with all this color, I ought to be able to create SOMETHING!

With Easter right around the corner I used pastel, instead of primary colors for my project.

Here's what I came up with!

It's a neat candy container stamped with sayings from Joy's Everyday and Holiday Occasions sets.  If you'd like a set of your own, grab them here.

Now for a look at the backside of the mug.  (I know I could have added something to the candy sleeves but decided that the mug would be the main focus.  It was also getting a bit cramped after I stuffed all the sleeves in.)

For this fairly simple project, I covered a glass mug with papers and stickers from Doodlebug's new Flower Box collection.  I then stamped "Happy Easter" with Memento's Rose Bud ink and added a brad to the center of the flower on banner.   I then wrapped twine around the handle to spice it up a little.  M&M's were sorted by color and then packaged in 1x8 cellophane bags to give the rainbow effect.

OK, you've stuck with me so far so...

Jukebox CD Case

Hello, all you crafters!

Today, I have for you a project using those fun CD cases now available at Joy's Life.com.

I'm going to burn music that my sister loves and give this to her for her birthday.

Covering this case is easy!  I just measured it, rounded the corners, and adhered it with tape.  I used Cricut's Nifty Fifties cartridge for this project.  The jukebox is cut out at 4 1/2".

The stamp I used for the front is from Joy's new Tag You're It - Set One.  If you haven't added these stamps to your collection, you can get them here

Here's the inside of the case.

I embossed the paper inside using Quickutz's Retro Diamonds folder to add some texture to it.

Everyday Occasions from Joy's Life is the stamp set I used for the CD.

You can pick up all the stamps used for this project and the CD case here.

That's it for me today. Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate all your comments.

Well Done, Graduate!

 Hello, everyone!

Today I have a quick and easy graduation card for you!
This simple card is great if you are in a crunch to make a graduation card quickly.

It opens up like this.

The stamps come from Joy's Everyday Occasions and Yummy Puns stamp sets. You can get Everyday Occasions  here and Yummy Puns here.

I used the Silhouette Graduation Cap card file for this.  To make it a little elegant, I used gold paper, ink, and embossing powder. (My hubby was happy with this project since these colors were his high school colors.)

That's all I have for today.  I hope you all have a great day!  As usual, any comments are appreciated!

Something in store for you...

Happy Monday to all of you!
I hope you are having a good day.

This week for Joy's Life's Design Team, we were able to do a project of our choice.

I have a gift card holder for my niece that I made with several of Joy's stamp sets.

The top flap lifts open to reveal a gift card.

This stamp is from the new Tag You're It - Set One.

On the inside, I used stamps from Everyday Occasions and Holiday Occasions.  (Love how you can mix and match!)

If you don't have these versatile stamp sets yet, you can purchase them here

Now for the details... I turned to my trusty Silhouette for this project.  (I know, I need to give my Cricut some love in the near future!)

I found this free and super cute store with awning SVG here.  The card is a simple gate-fold card.  It measures 5.25"x4.25".  The red patterned paper is from Hobby Lobby's The Basic Paper Pack.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope this got some creative juices going for you.  Thanks for stopping by!  I read and appreciate every comment left!  :)

Teacher's Gift's Blog Hop starts today!

Welcome to The Crafty Kitten for Joy's Life's
Teacher's Gifts Blog Hop!

If you have hopped over from Jennie at Earthy Scrap then you are in the right place.  If you just happened to stumble upon this post and want to start at the beginning at Joy's Life, click HERE.

The Design Team has put together some great teacher's gifts made with Joy's rubber stamps.

Here's what I came up with...a pencil that holds Rolo candy pencils and a post-it note holder for your favorite teacher!

Here's how it goes together.  The pencil is from SVG Cuts and I cut it using my Cameo.

This saying is from Joy's Life's new Tag You're It - Set Two.

The post it note holder is super easy to make.  All you have to do is cut a piece of card stock to 3x7".  Score it at 3.25" and 3.75" for a perfect fit.  I used stamps from Joy's Everyday Occasions set.

I had first seen pencils made from Rolo candy at a scrapbook/stamp convention.  I thought it would be cute to put them in their own special box.  Here's a link to how you can make them.

Now how about some Blog Candy??
Joy has so graciously donated a Tag You're It -
Set One Stamp Set to giveaway for this blog hop!  That lucky winner is going to have a lot of fun playing with it!

Happy Birthday Shadow Box Card

Hello, paper crafters! I hope your day is going well.

For our Design Team project this week we were to use either Joy's Life's
Holiday Occasions or Everyday Occasions stamp set.
I decided to work with both sets today.

This card is my first attempt at a Shadow Box card. You can easily do this
with a scoring pad but I decided to draw mine on my Silhouette.

Here's what my Silhouette Mat looked like:

If you are using a scoring pad, you'd cut the card back and front at
4.25" x 5.5". Score both cards at 1/2" and 1" on both sides. Use your
Nestabilities to cut the window out of one of your pieces of card stock.
The card folds flat for easy mailing!

Here's a closeup of the rubber stamp that I used.
If you don't already have these versatile rubber stamp sets,
you can buy them HERE!

I used Echo Park paper's Country Drive for the card. The flower basket is from Silhouette.

Thanks for stopping by! Your comments are always appreciated!

Stay tuned for more Joy's Life projects!
