How Time Flies!

I didn't realize until now that it has been over 6 months since my last post!  Thankfully, things have been going well.  I've been busy with work but I still make time to do some crafting.  Here's a pretty quick card I made using Lawn Fawn's Flamingo Together and Life Is Good stamp set.

My embossing gun was broken when I tried to heat the embossing powder.  I had to go Old School and use the toaster to heat the letters up.  (Yes, there was a time before embossing guns! LOL!)

I hope you have a great day!!

Sundae Card

Hello, everyone!  It's Patty here with an Oldie But Goodie card for you today.  (That is...using stamps from sets released earlier than this year by Joy at JoysLife.com!)

I know I can always use birthday cards so here's what I made using a yummy combination of colors.

For this project, I used one of my favorite stamp sets, Yummy Puns. It is one of my favorites! I used Memento's Bahama Blue ink for the sentiment. (Love that color!)

If you want your own set of Yummy Puns, you can get it here.

I used my Cricut and Birthday Bash to cut the Ice Cream Sundae out at approximately 3.5". The paper is We R Memory keepers Sweet Spot that I found at Archivers. It's die-cut on the edge so I incorporated that into my card.

I embellished the card with hand drawn stitching and fun ribbon. I made 2 cards at a finished size of 4.25" x 6" out of one 12x12 sheet.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my project for the day.  Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments!

Now...do yourself a favor and go get yourself some ice cream! :)

Happy Cake Day Card

*** Scroll down to the previous post to get your comments in for a chance to win at the Fun In The Sun Blog Hop! ***

Hello, everyone!
Today I have for you a Joy's Life DT project.

This week, we are having a blast celebrating birthdays! This is always a fun subject and one that I can never make too many cards for. (I just have to be sure to mail them out in time!) :)

I made what I call a "flap card."

The saying comes from Joy's Yummy Puns stamp set.

Right now, you can get Yummy Puns and her new Pun In The Sun set for a special price and free shipping here!

Here's a side view of the card.  You can see why I call it a flap.

I absolutely LOVE this paper!  It is from TPC Studios and is called Easter Stripes.  The cupcake is from Lettering Delight's Birthday Sparkle file and was cut using my Cameo.  I added some glitter to the flower to spice it up.  The card is 4.25 x 5.5 and I just cut a flap slightly smaller to go over the front of it.  I used my scallop scissors to trim the flap.

I really like the way it turned out.  I think I'm going to make more cards like this.  :)

I hope you have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by & leaving a comment.

Joy's Life Lion Birthday Card

Hello, everyone! Hope your day is off to a great start!

Today, I have for you a lion card that I made with Lettering Delight's Nancy's Buddies files. (If he looks familiar, it's because he was designed by Nancy Kubo who made Cricut's Create A Critter cartridge!)

I just love this little guy. He makes me smile! I wanted to make him into a birthday lion so I added a hat and present. I decided to make him into a shape card since it highlights how cute he is! For a short cut, I print and cut all the elements to the card on my Silhouette. To top it off, the sentiment that goes perfectly with this project is from Joy's Life's Lots Of Puns Stamp Set! (If you don't have this set loaded with 21 cute puns and 2 images, you can get it HERE!)

I'm going to enter this cute dude in My Craft Spot Challenge #45 - Birthday Shape Cards

Hope you enjoy my project for this day! Thanks for stopping by!

Ninja Birthday Card

Hello, all!

I turned the page on the calendar this morning and asked myself, how can it be February already? Yikes! Well, I know this is the month of Cupid but it also the month of my brother's birthday. I thought I better get a card going and hopefully I'll remember to mail it out to him in time for his big day!

I spent time combing my files/cartridges for something that says "guy" and found my little Ninja dudes from Lettering Delights. If that doesn't say "guy", then I don't know what does!

I felt like making an easel card and here's what I came up with!

In the spirit of fun competition, I'm going to enter it in the following challenges:

Die Cutting Diva's #50 - Anything Goes

Paper Playtime #66 - Anything Goes

Little Scrap Pieces - Use Red

Birthday Sundaes #41 - Easel Card

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are having a great day!

Last Card For 2011

Hello all you paper artists out there!

It seems like December was a big blur. We had a wonderful Christmas but, as usual, I did not get as much accomplished as I wanted.

Several of my family members have birthdays in January so I sat down yesterday and created a card for my sister who celebrates her day on January 2nd.

As a Christmas present to me from my hubby, I signed up for a Silhouette Subscription for 20% off and have had a lot of fun loading my library full of images. I used a Lori Whitlock image for this and the paper is from My Little Shoe Box.

So here's to you, Theresa! Have a wonderful birthday. I'm not too sure this will make it to Tucson in time but here you go!

I hope everyone has a safe & Happy New Year's Eve!

Happy Birthday, Jovan!

I was combing through all the wonderful blogs out there and stumbled upon Cards By Jovan. She's having her craft room reworked right now and it just so happens to be her birthday, also.

I was in the mood to make a card so here it is...Happy Birthday, Jovan! (The inside of it says "Bless your house with love and laughter...on your birthday and always, ever after!)

The paper is from My Little Shoebox. I used one of the Kyoto Cuties files from Lettering Delights for the SVG. Using Bazzill's website, I was able to find coordinating colors for the My Little Shoebox Oasis line. I then used my Bazzill Iphone app to get the RGB numbers for parts of her kimono and umbrella. I then used the Print & Cut option to cut her out.

Hope you enjoy it!

Hoppy Birthday!!

Hi, Everyone!

I FINALLY finished this frog card! For some strange reason, this one took awhile to complete. I changed the original orientation of the card and then decided to stamp the saying on the top of the circle above the froggies head.

I used my Imagine for the background paper and to color the frog. That feature I do love! The papers came from Enjoy The Seasons. (Which I finally scored on Ebay for a killer deal!) The flowers are cut with my SD. I really love how they turned out and will be using them in future projects! The stamped saying comes from Joy's Life Lots Of Pun set. And of course, Mr froggie comes from one of my favorite cartridges, Create A Critter. The inside of the card says "Hope your day is unfrogettible!"

Better late than never, I'm entering this in Fantabulous Cricut's Challenge Me Monday #74 Birthday Bash challenge!

Hope you are all having a great Sunday!

My New Toy & First Project

Well, after much research, I caved and bought a Silhouette SD. I know a larger version is coming out in October but my husband talked me into purchasing the smaller version now. I got it for 40% off so that sweetened the deal. (Looks like he will be able to cut his paper models that he designs on this.) He's super sweet telling me that I can get the Cameo if I want and he'd use the smaller version! Works for me! :)
The main reason why I wanted this was their Print & Cut feature. I love the idea that I can use graphics that I design or the awesome files out there from super talented artists to P&C. I have a Cricut Imagine and for now I will be keeping it since I have invested a large amount in it. As for my anniversary edition of the Expression, I will be selling that one since I don't use it often. I'm keeping my older E so that I can use the Sure Cuts A Lot software on it. (I'm not planning on updating it.)
Well without further ado....here's my first P&C project using the Lettering Delights Birthday Fishes file. I LOVE the way it came out! The waves were cut from my E so I haven't totally abandoned it!

As part of TGIF, I'm going to link this up to Craft Junkies TGIF linky party! Also, Creative Cutter is having a Splish Splash Waves of Summer Challenge and Cher's Studio This To That Tuesday Side Step Challenge.

Have a great weekend!! Hope you enjoy my card!!

Cupcake Birthday Card

Birthday Sundaes is hosting a Wet Or Dry Embossed Birthday Card Challenge right now. I LOVE making these type of cards and I REALLY love cupcakes!!! So I thought I'd combine them for the best of both worlds.

The die cut is from Lettering Delight's Birthday Sparkles which contains a lot of my favorite images. I also used TPC Studios paper and I believe the saying is from Hero Arts.

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Easel Card

I had a lot of fun making this card. I thought I'd change it up a bit and do an Easel Card this time. The die is from Lettering Delights Birthday Sparkles. I added some embossing throughout the project and crystals to the cupcake liner. The cherry is cut out of glitter paper and the stamped saying is from Hero Arts Yummy Treats clear stamp set. I probably should have embossed the saying but instead I just used Stampin Up ink.

Let me know what you think. Comments are always appreciated.

I am entering this into Cooking With Cricut's Challenge #32 - Use any two of the following colors: orange, yellow, cream, brown, green or white

Happy Birthday Card

Here's a Birthday Card created using only the colors pink, green, and black. Despite the fact that I've been battling a headache today, I've been trying to challenge myself to make some projects!

This is being entered in My Pink Stampers NSBD Challenge #11 - Use the above colors

The sentiment is from Hero Arts. Thanks for stopping by!

Another Terrific Tuesday Challenge

Scrappy Mom's is having another Terrific Tuesday Challenge. The object of this one is to use something from the Smiley Cards. I haven't cut any images from this since, I think, December, so I thought this would be a good challenge to participate in!

I love the happy cake and I figured he (since I cut him in blue) should be on a birthday card! The paper is from the DCVW Birthday Stack. I cut the confetti, packages, and hat from the Celebrations Cartridge.

Hope you enjoy my latest project. Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate the time you take when you leave a comment! :)

Challenge Me Monday #52

March 21st is Robin's birthday over at Fantabulous Cricut. It's also the blogs 1 year anniversary! In celebration of both events, FCCB is hosting a Happy Birthday Challenge.

I just bought the Florals Embellished cartridge so I wanted to be a good girl and use it right away! I was instantly drawn to this bird. The papers I used are all printed from the Best Friends Imagine Cartridge.

Although my card turned out to be a simple one, I wish I could say the process in creating it was simple also, but it was not. I went through many layout and color changes until I came out with the finished product! Maybe I shouldn't have tried this while I was sick, but, oh well!!

I hope you enjoy the card! Thanks for taking the time to stop by! And as usual, I welcome any comments and followers!!

Throwback Thursday Challenge, Cooking With Cricut Challenge # 21, and Paper Cutz Challenge #83

There are 3 challenges out there that I am entering this card into.

First, Emma at My Creative Time is hosting a Throwback Thursday Challenge. Actually she's been doing this for some time but this is the first time I'll get to participate! The goal of her challenge is to use an older Cricut Cartridge and use green in the project.

The second challenge is Cooking With Cricut's Challenge #21. Their goal is to use 2 shades of green in your project.

The third challenge over at Paper Cutz Challenge # 83 is to make any project, with any theme, with any colors.

I whipped up this cutie elephant from Birthday Bash and used some dimensionals to give his ear a 3D look. The background paper is from DeNami design.

Hope you enjoy this quick & easy project! As usual, I appreciate the comments and would love if you chose to follow my blog!

I cut the Ice Cream Sundae, added some glitter to the sprinkles and stamped it with a saying from Scrappy Mom's Sweet Somethings stamp set.
This was another fun challenge. Hope you enjoy the card! Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to leave a comment!

Birthday Card

Here's a birthday card I made for one of my sisters earlier this year using the Pagoda Cartridge. It had to have happy colors!
