Weekly Smeared Ink DT Project

Fat Tuesday and what better way than to celebrate this day than with a new Art Journal!  I am using watercolor paper as my base for each page.

My art journal page for my Weekly Smeared Ink Design Team project uses a stamp I just got from the set Danse Macabre (January 2014) and a partial saying from the stamp set Occasions Grumpies (September 2013). Both sets I received from the Smeared Ink Rubber Club.

Since I have only used Smeared Ink stamps I am also going to put this page in the Smudgy Antics Anything Goes Challenge found in the Challenger Group on the Smeared and Smudged Forum for this month.  Get over to the Smeared and Smudged Forum and check out the challenges, groups, and talented people.

I was also inspired by a wonderful ground which can be found at the Smeared and Smudged Forum called Art Journal Everyday.  This fab group has wonderful Design Team Members that give you prompts and techniques to help you create fun new pages for your art journal.

I have used Technique #15, done by Titbelsoeur, for this/these pages which I am planning on turning into a journal.  I just love this technique!!  Live it up tonight and get crafty!

Drinks N' Deets

I stamped my image from Danse Macabre Smeared Ink Rubber Club set onto scrap paper.  Fussy cut.
Looked in some magazines until I saw this page w/ lots on it.  Tried a few pictures then saw the hat shape and the bottle.
Used the two pictures and my fussy cut guy to make my template.  I found an old piece of plastic in my stash and used a black Sharpie to make outlines.
Fussy cut my drawn shape on the plastic.

Background is use of bubble wrap, Dylusion Spray Inks, templates, and random texture pieces I could find.

Saying is "get lit" from the original saying "let's get lit for the holidays" from the Occasions Grumpies stamp set, Smeared Ink Rubber Club.  I stamped in Early Espresso ink inside image on left and around image on the right.

Skelli was re-stamped with Cajun Craze ink on right side.
I used a gold marker to outline each dancing guy.
Spritzed Gold Smooch (retired SU!) over entire page.
All materials used are current Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Smeared Ink's December Blog Hop

DECEMBER MEMBER BLOG HOP-
ANYTHING GOES

The holidays are upon us and yet the 12 of us were able to squeeze in this hop.  Crazy, insane, or just too much time on our hands??  Who knows, but what I do know is that there will be some wonderfully creative projects for your viewing pleasure.  Please leave a comment if you can, I know I appreciate your thoughts as do others.

I have the list of Hop Members below if you like to jump around, or are lost.  You should have arrived from Evil Edna's blog.  You are now at Shoni's aka Crafty Inknik.  Next up is Maureen.  Have fun and enjoy.

The theme for the Blog Hop was Anything Goes, so here we go....
I have been making/sewing these wonderful hand bags for friends and family.  I think I have about 7 done so far.  This was my first ever bag that I made and just love it.  I had a flower that was suppose to go on but...when I saw the set of images, Eyes in the Dark, from Smeared Ink, I had to use the Great Horned Owl.

Colored in with markers and Blender Pen.
Gold Marker for eyes.
Crystal Effects over entire image.
Fussy cut and then adhered to a pin.
Crumb and Early Espresso Tulle ribbon (retired SU!) behind and pinned.

For the next two weeks the challenge at Smudgy Antics is Anything Goes!
We want to see it all.
Got out those stamps, and get crafty!

It is Week 1, so come by and check out all the great
projects and inspiration that the Design Team has created.

Don't forget to check back next week to see more.
We would love to see you playing along.

For this challenge I have created a notebook Birthday gift for a friend.
I love this digi stamp, Tightrope Girl, from Smeared Ink and guess what?
Smeared Ink is offering the set, Carnies, that this image came from,
for December's Smeared Ink Rubber Stamp Club.  Woohoo!!

Defying Details
Closed this notebook holder measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".
I have used Stampin' Up! card stock (cs) and the retired Designer Paper from the paper pack called Bella Blue.
Cloudy Day Embossing Folder (retired) for the background.

Tightrope Girl is printed onto Very Vanilla cs and colored in with markers and a Blender Pen.
She is fussy cut.  Crystal Effects over the eyes, mouth, hair, wings, corset, arm bands, tears in stocking, feet, and umbrella.

Saying is stamped in Black Staze On.
It is from a past Smeared Ink Rubber Club offering, Grumpies Occasions.
I cut out and adhered to front with dimensionals.

Other embellishments used:
3 button brads for her from from the Vintage Trinkets.
Small Rhinestone Jewels for the umbrella.
Dazzling Details (like Stickles) for shine on ruffles and wings.
Baked Brown Sugar 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim for the tightrope.
Black web ribbon from stash along left side.
