It's Father's Day!!!!!!!

Happy Father's Day to my dad, Dom and my father-in-law, Skip!  Happy Father's Day to my hubby, Frank  too - because after all - he is a daddy to Buddy, Nolie and Sweet Pea!

Here's one of three Father's Day cards I made for the holiday.  This will be given to my dad this afternoon at our BBQ:

This is a MAJOR collaboration of stamps!   The chair is from Eat Cake Graphics. The 'rug' is from Penny Black and the fish, slippers and sentiment is from MFT.  The image is colored with my Inktense watercolor pencils.

Happy Father's Day!!

CFC80-Dashing through the snow...

CAS-ual Friday's Challenge#80 is for clean and simple Christmas tag.  I made this one up during the week and it pretty much meets the challenge!  I absolutely LOVE it!!!

This is an Eat Cake Graphic stamp I used on Kraft and colored with my prisma pencils.  I stamped him on an angle of course so he's heading down the slope.  The top of the tag was a bit boring, so I embossed a cuttlebug swirl folder and added white ink.  To make the Amuse sentiment pop a little, I added score lines above and below.

That sledding looks like fun! I really have to go this winter!

PIN35 - Doggy Christmas

I channeled my inner Meg Craig from Corgi Creations (oh do I miss her cardmaking! Come back to blogland Meg!!) for this card.   This is an Eat Cake Graphics stamp I got when I was on their Design Team this year (speaking of - Holly is having a DT call - so check out her blog if you're interested).

I loved what Meg did with her card - so I recreated it (twice)

I colored in the pup with my prisma pencils and gave him some fur by flicking my pencil.  Then I paper pieced the scarves and cut him out.  I used two Distress Inks to create my background after creating the moon.  I added some stars from my Hero Arts background stamp and then used my glitter pen to give them some pop.  I decided to give the pup a little something to admire in the moon - and what pup doesn't love a bone?  I'm really pleased with how these two came out..........now........who do I send these to??

I'm also entering this card in the {Pin}spirational Challenge#35:  HOW ADORABLE IS HE?????

Have a great Friday!!!!!!!!

ECG: Thank You Thank You Thank You

Happy Sunday!  Just a quickie post!  I colored up another one of my Eat Cake Graphics images - this time this cutie little girl!  She's definitely shouting something - so I made her quite grateful shouting through the forest!

I used my DCWV paper and gave her a little hill to stand on.  She makes me happy :)

Have a great day!

PPC105 - Pigs are Flying & Buddy's run-in

Happy Friday to you!  I haven't been around blogland much this week.  Not sure where I've been - but I'm back today with a card I put together with the Paper Players Challenge #105.

I colored up this Eat Cake Graphics flying pig last week with my mom and I showed her how to mask images and make clouds.

I wasn't sure what I was going to do for a sentiment so I ended up collaborating.  I first grabbed My Favorite Things: "Hell has officially frozen over" stamp but needed something to correlate with the piggy.  That's when I grabbed my Lawn Fawn alphabets and just made my own thing up.

I used a Sizzix cloud die, some new washi tape and what's a card without bling? Not sure who I'll send this card too. I guess I'll just have to wait until something unbelievable happens! OR - if someone wants to buy it - that's fine too :)

Here's the sketch:

I was at my local park on Wednesday with my three dogs when Buddy disappeared from me for a short bit. He does this often but the call of "Cookies!!" gets him running back.  Well, he was near a swampy area and I heard a big splash. Knowing he's not a swimmer - I called for him and when he came to me he was gushing blood from his ear!!!  YIKES!  I saw he had a huge gash.  I quickly leashed him up, called the vet and brought him in.  I think he got bit by a snapping turtle!  So, he had to spend most of the day at the vet and this is my poor sad boy.  He'll be sportin' this for two weeks!!

He's so sad :(

ECG: A friend.........

Awww, isn't this little girl too sweet?  She's sweeter than me.........I don't let anyone get MY ice cream - LOL.  This is another Eat Cake Graphics image paired up with a TSG sentiment.  Once again, I used my My Mind's Eye paper and prisma pencils.

Short post............Have a great Saturday!!!

ECG/FTL195 - Am I too late for cake?

Hello!!!  I'm back today with another Eat Cake Graphics card. Have I mentioned how much fun I'm having using these stamps???  Only a few times, right? Isn't this little girl just the cutest???

I followed the Clean and Simple FTL#195 sketch, but I made an A2 card instead of a square one. Of course she's colored with my prisma pencils and I used some more new paper from My Mind's Eye.

Just a quick post today. Here's the sketch:

...And another thing......

Happy Memorial Day!!!  Hope you have something fun planned today.  We are cooking out around 4pm. Hopefully the weather cooperates!

Today's card is another one using my Eat Cake Graphic stamps.  I'm having a lot of fun using these as part of my Design Team assignments, but I know I will enjoy using them for a lifetime too!

I created a mini-scene today........very mini - just the two of them!

What do you think he's done to get in front of her wrath?  He's really clenching his hands! See how they are red??  Her face is pretty red too!!!  She is mad!!!!!!  LOL

As usual, I colored these two in with my prisma pencils.  Used my Nesties to cut out and added a few highlight dots with my white gel pen.  I printed the sentiment off my computer.

Well, I hope this made you chuckle today!  Enjoy the 'extra' day off!!!!

God Bless the USA!!

Eat Cake Graphics - Birthday Pup

Well, this puppy couldn't wait for his owner to get home to wish her a Happy Birthday!  He already took a small bite out of the birthday cake!!

I was definitely drawn to this front porch stamp by Eat Cake Graphics and was happy to put it to use once my order came in.  I colored it up with my prisma pencils (does that surprise anyone?).

For the background, I created the night sky by using my Distress Inks in a few colors and added some stars.  I wanted the porch light on, so I tried to create a glow from the light, which didn't come out as well as I had hoped!

I popped the puppy up and gave him a Studio G birthday hat and used a There She Goes cake and sentiment bubble.

I hope his owner gets home soon or that cake will be history!!!

Sweet Wonderful You!

Hello blog readers!!! (The few....the proud....enlisted!!)   I have a really cute card to show you today (well, at least I think so!).   This is a birthday card for our little neighbor Cayla.  She just adores our dogs and I think most of her clothing is dog related in some way!  So, I had to created a card with a dog on it for her!

How do you like that Hero Arts cloud background??  This is another stamp I had been eyeing for a while and finally picked up!  I stamped it with Distress Inks to start.  Then I created the hills with patterned cardstock.  I paper pieced her dress and colored the rest of her and the Eat Cake Graphics pup with prisma pencils.

I decided I wanted a rainbow on the card too, so I took some rainbow twine I got on clearance at Michaels and glued it down color by color in the corner.  I used the HA sentiment, added a few MS hearts and finished with a twine bow.

I think Cayla will like this card.  If not, I like it so much - maybe I'll ask for it back!! (LOL - just kidding!)

ECG: Kick Back and Relax

I'm back with another Eat Cake Graphics card!  I made it last week following some sketch out there in blogland, but now that I'm getting to post the card......I can't remember which one! Oops!

What I do know, is that these two friends are TOO CUTE!

I stamped the image on watercolor paper and used my Distress Inks to color.  I used a few Cuttlebug embossing folders and a My Favorite Things sentiment.

This image reminds me of an incredible video.  I'm not sure if you saw it on You Tube or the news but pay attention at the :30 mark

This poor doggy!!  Here's the sad follow up of Barney's owner if you're interested: Barney's Owner

I didn't mean to make this post a sad one, but I tried to look at the bright side that Barney was incredibly found by this kayaker and reunited with his family.

Eat Cake Graphics - Hippity Hoppity...

Easter's On Its Way!!!!  It sure is and this Eat Cake Graphics pup is just hopping along isn't he?   LOL - I had a lot of fun making this card!  Do you notice all those brads?  Well.......the challenge over at Linda McClain's Catered Crop blog is to use brads as the "featured ingredient" and Eat Cake Graphics is the sponsor company this week!

I rarely use brads, so I was happy to try and use a bunch for this challenge!  Might be a bit of an overload huh?  I pulled out all of my pastel ones thinking that I needed another Easter Card....then I looked through my ECG stamps and it hit me!  Puppy would be my bunny!!  Of course I had to color him up all 'pink' for Easter!!

What do you think of my Nestabilities shaped card?  I have to give credit to Vicky at Clips-n-Cuts and her Merci Bouquet video.

I used my computer to create the sentiment and here's the inside of the card (which was quite hard to take a picture of!)

Come check out Linda's fantastic blog:

Eat Cake Graphics - "To The World........

you might be one person. But to one person, you just might be the world".   I love this sentiment - so of course I had to get it with my last order from Eat Cake Graphics.  It also helps that there is a dog in the image!!!  And as someone who tries to do her part in animal rescue, time and again.......to one animal, rescuers are the world.

I once again used my prisma pencils to color in the image and used my new DCWV "Green Stack" paper pack I got in FL while visiting my parents.  It's got a bunch of fun papers in there - so you'll be seeing a lot more of it!!

This sentiment has truly come to life in the past week.  There's been a rescue going on in our lives and without further delay...........may I introduce "Sweet Pea"
Sweet Pea is the newest family member.  She's had a bad run of luck the past few months.  Surrendered to the shelter when her owner (eh-hem)..had to go to "college" as we call it.  She did not show well in the kennel at all and her stress level was elevated.  She did actually find a home, but was returned for a bite, then a whole mess of stuff went on, and she was very close to never getting out of the shelter.  We decided to be Sweet Pea's "world."  So after doing a whole bunch of introductions with Nolie and Buddy.......she officially joined the family this past Saturday.

And as wonderful as the adoption of is Sweet Pea, it doesn't come without drama.  After getting her home and bringing her in the backyard........she decided to take a leap onto a 2 1/2' wall and blew out the ACL in her knee.  (FIVE MINUTES.......FIVE MINUTES is all it took for her to get injured!!!).

She is scheduled for surgery next Tuesday and then will have 6 weeks to rehabilitate.  So, obviously not what we had bargained for when we decided to 'save' her, but it comes with the territory and thankfully my husband has a HUGE HUGE heart (even though he says he's not a dog person).

Welcome to the dog house, Sweet Pea!!!

HSS109 - Delight in Life

I love this card!!  Have you ever made a card that just makes you happy??  This one does!!!  The challenge on the Hand Stamped Sentiment's blog is Rainbows.  There are a couple of cardmakers out there who make GREAT rainbow cards and I'm always blown away at their beauty.  So I knew I wanted to play along and have some fun with a rainbow!

Hmmmm, but what to do?  Since I have a bunch of Distress Inks, I decided to use those.  I laid out my rainbow colors: Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans and Dusty Concord.  (Here's the card)

Next I took a dauber to each color and swiped a rainbow arc across my cardstock. Then I spritzed it with water and perfect pearls so it glistens!  I used my dauber to create the grass too.  Then I stamped Rowley from Eat Cake Graphics, masked him and used another dauber for the sky.  I removed the masked and colored him in with prisma pencils and added a few more blades of grass with my pencils.

And in a moment of whimsy - I even added a few hash marks to 3 of Rowley's limbs to create movement!!  Wow - that's a big deal for me!!!

I search my whole inventory for a great sentiment to go along with this cheerful guy - and I used my Verve sentiment embossed in white.   The card was still pretty one dimensional - even with all that color - so I reached for these dew drops my blogging friend Cheryl @ She Stamps sent me a while back!  I love that they pick up the colors of the rainbow since they are clear!

Have you checked out Eat Cake Graphics stamps yet?  I'm really enjoying using their stamps!!!  I'll have another card up next week using another one of Holly's fab stamps!!

You've got until Monday at noon to play along with the HSS Challenge:

Eat Cake Graphics - Dog's Philosophy

I'm back with another Eat Cake Graphics card!!  I'm having a lot of fun making these cards up using my new ECG stamps!  I just placed another order so get ready for more!!   This one is a little 'crude' so I'm warning you before you scroll down.  LOL   Well - I guess it's not really crude...but something natural for male dogs! (And some females!  My Nolie tries to pee like a boy sometimes!)

Anyways......Here's my card colored up with prisma pencils again.  I made this over the weekend and I 'think' I was trying to follow last week's Mojo Monday sketch - but then I changed it up a bit.

The Skipping Stones sentiment is a bit hard to make out - it reads:
"A dog's philosophy on life: If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away!"

Here's a close up of the 'puddle' made with glossy accents!!

Hope this gave you a little laugh this Thursday!!!

Eat Cake Graphics - Sittin' Pretty!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!!!  (If you celebrate this holiday - hope you have a great love-filled day!!)

I'm back with another Eat Cake Graphics card!!  Can I just say how much I love these stamps??  Have you gone to their site yet to check them out? You should!!!

When I picked out this wagon from the store, I already knew I'd be popping a few of the pups in it for a card!  He he he - I love how it came out!  Again, I used a lot of masking on the card.  (Directions will be below).  I also used Mark's Finest Papers sentiment and paw prints.

Directions:
1) Stamp wagon with Memento Ink onto card base AND onto masking paper.
2) Cut wagon from masking paper and cover on wagon on card base.
3) Stamp three pups using Stamp-a-ma-jig for alignment.  Stamp three pups onto masking paper.
4) Cover card base pups with masking paper pups.
5) Use ruler to create road/sky separation.
6) Use Distress Inks and cloud template to make sky
7) Use random inks to make road.
8) Remove all masks and color the wagon and pups with prisma pencils.
9) Add glossy accents to pups tongues!

Eat Cake Graphics - Appreciate What Is...

Well, it's always fun to come back from vacation and have new stamps waiting for you!!!  I was so thrilled to open our week's worth of mail to find my first Eat Cake Graphics stamps and just HAD to make a card on Sunday!  Since I have the honor of being on their design team, I was excited to complete my first project.

So..........here it is:
I used "Mr. Pattersville enjoys view" and "Lighthouse".   I'll go into some detail on how I made the card.

First up - I stamped Mr. Pattersville on cardstock and another on Eclipse masking paper.  I covered him with the mask and then stamped the lighthouse on cardstock and another on the masking paper.

I ripped up a piece of Post-It Note to make the beach area and used Distress Inks and a dauber to create the sand.  I used the other end of my Post-It and covered the beach to make the ocean with more Distress Inks.  I added some white gel pen to create the waves and the water's edge.

With the mask staying on the lighthouse, I then created the clouds with my cloud template and Distress Inks.

After all of that was done.........I colored in Mr. Pattersville and the lighthouse with my prisma pencils and gamsol.  After showing the card to my hubby....he felt it needed a bit more...so I stamped another hat and game Mr. Pattersville some dimension.   I added a rhinestone to the lighthouse 'light' and a few more for some interest.

Lastly, I used a Hero Arts sentiment.   Hope you like my first project using Eat Cake Graphics stamps!!  Be sure to stop by their site because Holly's got a lot of GREAT stamps!!!!

And since my post is 'water' related........here's the beautiful water of Anguilla:

And my hubby and I on the boat :)
