Baby Girl

One of my friends is due to give birth to her daughter any day now so I thought I had better pull my finger out and make her card.

I wanted to keep the card quite simple and uncluttered, so I decided on a decoupage as the main focus and a twisted easel style to give it a more special feel.

It feels like ages since I have done a decoupage.  It was quite therapeutic doing one today.

I love a little sparkle, so I have edged this one with clear iridescent glitter glue and added a few touches here and there to highlight the heart balloons.

I have used a very delicate pink pen to draw in faux stitching all the way around the base and front of the card and who can make a baby card without buttons.

I am entering this card for the Buttons and stitching challenge at Creative Inspirations and for the Clean and simple challenge at Cute Card Thursday

Hello Baby

Nice simple card today.  I don't make many baby cards, but this weeks challenge at CRAFT challenge asked us to make one.

The backing paper I have used came from HOTP and I have had it for about 6 years. (Yup, still working through ancient stash lol).  I have added a baby bear die cut that I bought from ebay and a papermania bow and buttons from their capsule range.

I am also entering this card for the challenges at:
Creative Inspiration - No square cards allowed
Totally Papercrafts - Cuddly and cute

Girlie Wishes

I've been taking a look through my stash of cards and noticed that I do not have many cards for pre-teens.  Time to remedy that I think.

The sketch that I used for this card is from last weeks challenge over at Sketch Saturday.  I didn't get it finished in time to enter it, but I think they deserve a mention.  My colour inspiration came from the challenge at CRAFT challenge who gave us a colour pallet to work with.

Majorly old stash was used in the making of this card, so I can only tell you that I used co-ordinations textured card stock as I am unsure where the others came from.

I will also be entering this card for the challenge at Creative Inspirations who asked us to use stripes and A Spoon Full of Sugar who asked for Birthday wishes.

Pink on Pink

Friday Sketchers gave us a cute sketch to work with this week, but I couldn't decide which papers to use. In the end I went with the pink theme from this weeks challenge over at One stop craft Challenge. The idea to use ribbons and buttone on this card came from this weeks challenge over at Stamp something

With the exception on the dotty paper, I have had everything I used on this card in my stash for quite a while. I am trying to stick to one of the resolutions that I made this year - "Use up old stash before buying more". I do still buy the odd new piece of stash (well you can never have too much) but I am doing well with using up what I already have.

Buttons n Bow

I love cards that are a little bit out of the ordinary and I am slowly building up a collection of new ideas to use. One of my favourites is the step card. I made my first one just before Christmas for my mum and I have made a few variations on the template since.

This week, SCSC challenged us to make a multi fold card of our choice. The choice was easy. Kaboodle asked us to use spots and stripes in our design. The patterned paper was free with a magazine this month which I have matted onto some Caribbean blue bazzil. The sketch that I used for the center panel came from this weeks challenge over at One Stop Challenge and the buttons and bows idea came from Totally Papercrafts.

Fairy Orange

I did a naughty bit of craft shopping yesterday and bought my first border punch and the latest goody bag from Do Craft. It contains the whole of their new capsule range in sunshine. The colours are yellows, oranges and browns and there are lovely embellies, flowers, buttons etc.

Babbling now lol.

This is the first card that I made using the kit. The sketch design is from this weeks challenge at Friday Sketchers. SCSC asked us to do a monochrome plus white card. Saturday Spotlight asked us to use something teeny tiny so I have used tiny buttons and tiny pattern. My time to craft asked for fairys

Purple Sugar

I bought my first Sugar Nellie stamp - Just a Girl - (this one) a couple of months ago and this is the first time that I have used it. Today I found out that there is a challenge for Sugar Nellie stamps (The Sugar Bowl) so I just had to get her out of the drawer.

My favourite colours to work with are purple and black and she just needed a goth look to go with. I love manga style stamps and art so the choice of colours was easy.

We were given a sketch to follow and we had to use buttons. I've used purple star shaped buttons and tied them on with 3mm black ribbon. The background paper is a rich distressed looking purple, but it doesn't show too well in this picture. (My birthdays is coming up, so I am treating myself to a new camera).

The Sugar Bowl are offering 8 Christmas Mange stamps as a prize to the lucky winner.

Princess Button

This is my first challenge card for Moving Along With the Times. For challenge 5 - Cute as a button - we were given this sketch. We had to use at least one button as part of the design and this is what I came up with.
The image is from Pollycrafts - Cherry Kisses range. The dotty background paper is from Dandelion and Daisy. The flowery paper was free on a magazine and the buttons are from the Early Learning Centre.

I've got a secret

This is another recipe challenge card from me. This time for SCSC. The recipe this time was 3 buttons, 2 papers and 1 ribbon.

The buttons came from the Early learning centre (yup the toy shop), the papers were free on a couple of magazines and the ribbon is one of many in my ribbon drawer. I love this image. It is a digi stamp from Pollycraft Designs. It is one of many I have from the Cherry Kisses range. I've had the paper flowers for a while now and I can't remember who makes them.

Buttons Buttons Buttons

After two weeks of not crafting (mainly because of ill health) I finally made a card. This one is for the Penny Black Saturday challenge week 50 challenge. I very rarely use buttons on cards, but I enjoyed this one. I love this stamp..... it's so cheerful to look at. Hope you like it.
