Hot Rod Trukk 1 - Painted

The boyz needed their ride, so I finished this trukk up.  It was mostly finished, so I only needed to add detail and weathering:

Hot Rod Trukk 2 Painting complete

Plink, plink, plink away.  I'm loving the airbrush!  I now own 3!  Once I get the trukks done I'll start basecoating the boys that ride in'em.  I'm so excited for the new Ork Codex I'm about to wet myself.

Update update update...
With the shell complete I've started on the surface details:
The vents are personal resin casts I'm trying out.

Trukk #4 Part 3

The shell is still in progress.  When I put the shell on ork vehicles I measure for the space I'm trying to fill.  This does mean you rarely have a square angle anywhere.  If you end up with a funny gap just cover it with a bit or armor patch:
I used the inside fender wells on the front to hold up the fenders.  I just made a rough measurement and shoved them in there.

Trukk #4 Part 2

Right.  Let's get on with a post.  I took the chassis and added deck plates right to the frame.  I shaved down the high spots on the frame so that the plates stayed flat:
The driver is glued in place.  This trukk has an open driver's seat so I need to build around him.

Trukk #4 Part 1

My last trukk is in progress.  This one is for the Skarboyz, and it'll be snazzy.  I've got the chassis ready:

Trukk #3- Complete

Not much to say on the completion.  I added the Big Shoota and the exhaust.  I also took the Dremel to the trukk to make nice and lived in:

Trukk #3 Part 3

This is a quick update.  Got the rivets and wheels on.  It actually makes quire a difference.I wasn't too excited about this trukk but as its come together I'm likin it.  I think it really has that jalopy look I'm trying to capture.

Trukk #3 Part 2

More progress. I cut elements for the trukk bed:
I predistressed the edges of the bed plates as they will be too hard to get at once glued in.

Trukk #3 Part 1

I needed 1 more trukk to load the boyz in.  I started by using a the chassis I shorted some time ago and added more structure to lengthen and widen the bed. I glued the front axle upsidedown and on the top of the frame to drop the nose in the weeds.   The rear axle had to be extended to accomodate the wider bed. The engine is the stock trukk kit:

Ork Trukk #2 Part 5-Finished

The final work here was the last little bit of cleanup and adding the rivets.  I also roughed up the nice edges with my dremel.  Whew!

Ork Trukk #2 Part 4

Home stretch now.  Focused on the back, adding Trukk rails as passenger pipes, the big shoota and the wreckin ball.  I spliced the wrecker to the grabbing claw arm from the battle wagon kit to get the lift arm.  Some rather orky bracing and it's good to go.

Ork Trukk #2 part 3

I focused on the front end, getting the engine finished by adding the exhausts, fan, radiator and front grill.  The left pipes are stock, but the right side are from the bomma kit.  It required bending the pipe to make it work. A little heat from a candle is all it took.  The grill is just stacked slabs of strip card capped with a Kan shoulder plate.

Ork Trukk #2 Part 2

Progress made.  I added some detail to the cab and installed the engine.  The visor on the roof came out of my bitz box, and the blower on the engine is a Stormboy pack. I started the back deck with a piece of Plastruct diamond plate, with one of the sides of the bed cut off of one of the trukk kit front end plates.  Not too much to say about the build, really...

Ork Trukk #2 Part 1

I've started on my second trukk for my Waaagh. I took inspiration from a rat rod tow truck pic I found online. I started the build on the standard trukk chassis and went from there.
I used the standard trukk cab baseplate and firewall, mainly because I was lazy and I had them. I scratch built the rest of the cab with 1 mm plasticard. In keeping with my theme I lowered the frame. In the rear I flipped the axle over. In the front I moved the axle to the front of the chassis, away from the suspension.

Trukk 1 quickie!

Based on some suggestions the front end looked a bit weedy I added a gob:
