Tomb Raider Delayed

May 14, 2012 0 comments

Originally being released sometime this fall, Tomb Raider will be pushed back to a later date which is sometime in 2013 Square Enix announced today.

Crystal Dynamic's head honcho released an explanation on why the rebooted Tomb Raider game has been delayed which is due to the fact that the developers want to give fans a great experience. As an apology for the inconvenience, a screenshot for the game has been released (pictured above).

When Crystal Dynamics first set out to reboot the Tomb Raider franchise, there were two goals that we were extremely passionate about. The first was to create a modern Tomb Raider game that would surprise and excite gamers.

The second was to make this the best game of our careers, something we would be really proud to be a part of. We truly believe that we have something very special on our hands and we can’t wait to share it with you.Our priority now is to make sure we fully deliver the very highest quality game. In order to do this, we have decided to move the game’s release date by a few months, from Fall 2012 to the first quarter of 2013.

We’re doing things that are completely new to Tomb Raider in this game and the additional development time will allow us to put the finishing touches into the game and polish it to a level that you deserve. We believe this is the right choice and I guarantee it will be worth the wait.
The game is looking amazing and we can’t wait to show it to everyone at E3 in a few weeks.

No price has been listed and no screenshots of the robes in game, but we are given some concept art of its Final Fantasy appearance.

The Assassins Creed series has been making loads of cameos since its debut, from Altair's robes in Metal Gear 4, to Ezio appearing in next years Soul Calibur 5. Could Ezio be making another cameo in Sony's rumored brawler, Title Fight? The "Michael" trailer could be a hint at it.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Collector's Edition

November 10, 2011 0 comments

Everyone loves collector editions; those things always comes with nice things and fans of the games that corresponds with a collector's edition will eat those things up, so that's why Square Enix will be releasing a fancy collector's edition for Final Fantasy XIII-2.

The collector's edition is a specially packed limited edition piece of work with the packaging covered with artwork done by Yoshitaka Amano. It also comes with a four-disc soundtrack, a 20-paged artbook and of course the game. All of this won't cost you that much, in fact, it will just cost $79.99, which isn't bad at all.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 and it's collector's edition will come out on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 31, 2012.

New Kingdom Hearts 3D Trailer Shows Off Hunchback Of Notre Dame

September 20, 2011 0 comments

This years Tokyo Game Show was home to the first trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance with it's new character, Neku along with a new Disney franchise.

It doesn't seem like Kingdom Hearts hasn't completely given up on having Disney related characters in the game since it showcases a new Disney franchise, The Hunchback of Notre Dame. That's all there is that's anything Disney so far.

Expect the game to be out Spring of next year.

Tetsuya Nomura Explains Kingdom Hearts 3D Gameyplay Systems

September 16, 2011 0 comments

Game director of Square Enix Tetsuya Nomura used Twitter to explain some new gameplay systems for Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance for the 3DS.

Free Flow Action:
These are the “flashy” actions Nomura has mentioned in the past. By pressing Y, you can make your character kick off walls, swing around poles, slide down rails, and so-forth. You can string together these actions. You can also connect into other moves — pressing A or a powerful attack, or B for a jump.
Reality Shift :
When you’re attacking enemies, objects and enemies will sometimes be highlighted with a cursor. Press X and A simultaneously, and you can perform special attacks through the lower screen.
Dual Link :
In DDD, you fight along side demons known as “Dream Eaters.” In the TGS demo, you start off with two of these in your party. As you build up a gauge, the Dream Eater’s icon will begin to flash. Tap the icon on the lower screen, and you’ll be able to do a team attack. You can also team up with both Dream Eaters simultaneously.
I really do not think that much Disney will be involved in this new installation of Kingdom Hearts, which is a shame since that's what pretty much made Kingdom Hearts good. You get new partners in this game, so it seems like they are just throwing out Donald and Goofy. I won't be getting this game anytime soon, that's for sure.

Neku To Be In Dream Drop Distance

September 14, 2011 0 comments

Some news about the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance has been revealed during the Tokyo Game Show today, news that will make you scratch your head a bit.

Square Enix is adding a character to the game that's not from any Final Fantasy related game. Instead, Neku from The World Ends With You from the Nintendo DS will be making an appearance.

Neku's first appearance is when Sora is in Traverse town and is looking for Riku, but instead of getting Riku, he finds Neku just hanging around.

I have also found this picture online.

Supposedly more news will drop about Dream Drop Distance at midnight, which is in forty eight minutes. Notice there's no Goofy or Donald, instead a bat and a walrus, I hope they won't be your new partners. Hell, why won't Square Enix just release Kingdom Hearts 3? It's like Square Enix is just milking the series with their fillers.

The PlayStation 2's Final Fantasy X will be getting an HD remake and will be released on both the PlayStation Vita and the Playstation 3. Square Enix is doing a remake of the game for it's 10th anniversary and thought it was a nice way to celebrate the big ten oh. No release date has been given, nor has any screens or videos of that matter.

GameStop's Apology For Opening New Deus Ex Copies

August 26, 2011 0 comments

GameStop pissed off a lot of customers the other day when they decided to open new copies of Deus Ex: Human Evolution and in return, GameStop is offering a bit of an incentive.

GameStop has been sending out e-mails to retailers ordering employees to offer Deus Ex purchasers a $50 gift card along with a Buy 2 Get 1 Free pre-owned purchase offer.  Everyone who has purchased a copy of Deus Ex will be eligible to obtain these gifts of apology.

GameStop Opens New Deus Ex Cases In Order To Remove Promotional Codes

August 24, 2011 0 comments

Square Enix and OnLive teamed upped in order to promote Deus Ex: Human Evolution that included a promotional code that would allow you to receive a free OnLive version of the game when you purchased a PC retail copy. Gamestop on the other hand, didn't want anything to do with the promo Square Enix and OnLive has set up, so they went to the extreme to make sure that costumer would not be able to get the promotional codes.

Gamestop has done the unexpected - they opened the new games, took out the codes and resold the game without the code. Beth Sharum, public relations representative for GameStop, said, "Square Enix packed the competitor's coupon with our DXHR product without our prior knowledge and we did pull and discard these coupons".

GameStop sees this as competition because earlier this year, GameStop bought a digital distribution platform - Impluse. Impulse is a mix of OnLive and Steam, in which you can either buy your games online and download them or you can play the games on demand.

If you're in the market for a limited edition ultra rare 3DS designed by Square Enix, today is your day since there's a competition going on over at Heroes of Ruin, all you need to do is sign in and sign up by July 31st for this collection piece.

I think I might have to sign up for this, that things looks extremely nice, I wouldn't mind having that propped up in a nice case so I can show it off to all my friends.
