Shake Shack with J & D...

Nice Saturday night with Jack and Daiki.

Originally, the plan was to cook dinner at Dean's. However, we had to change plans because Dean also had some last minute change of plans.

So from a home party, it became a Shake Shack dinner. It was great though since it's been awhile since I last saw these guys.

Enjoyable Saturday night.

Double bill of Kill Bill...

The whole of Saturday night was spent at the cinema.

Jon invited me to watch Kill Bill vol. 1 & 2 with him at The Projector. Since I had nothing planned for the night, I said yes. Also, I can't remember the last time I did a back-to-back screening of two movies. Haha!

It was also my first time to watch at The Projector. The cinema has a certain vibe. I never understood what "hipster" means but I found myself using the word when I described the place to Jon. Hahaha!

13 years after the first installation of the film was released, I can still remember the key scenes of the movie. I guess that's more than good enough proof of how awesome the movie was.

I had no idea Jon was a huge Tarantino fan. When I showed him my photo with the esteemed director, he flipped out. Well, I sent it to him via Whatsapp so I'm not sure what his reaction was. Haha!

Anyway, the story behind the photo was I was at the right place at the right time. It was a stormy night in Manila. A film fest was happening at Gateway Cubao and Mr. Tarantino was a guest. I was at the mall waiting for a friend. My friend and I arranged to meet at the Globe Platinum Cinema. Well, while I was waiting for my friend, Mr. Tarantino comes and I just gathered all my courage and approached him for a photo. LOL!

Glad I did that, and glad to have been able to watch the films again!

Kelong dinner with fellow MVs...

Who says museum volunteers don't have time for other things but museums?

A trip to the kelong for dinner was proof that MVs do know how to have fun outside of the museum.

Volunteers from Asian Civilisation Museum, Singapore Art Museum, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall, The Peranakan Museum, and of course, my beloved National Museum of Singapore, took a break from museum guiding for a yum dinner at the kelong. Aside from the food, the other exciting thing for me was catching our dinner (even though the snappers came from a sure-catch pond... hehe!)

Thank you to Diana for organising the outing. It was a nice experience!

Brunch with Ian and JB...

We'll be welcoming another friend to Singapore soon.

Come 1 July, JB will be working in Singapore. It was a surprise for me as I didn't think he would actually leave the Philippines since he is doing well back in Manila. However, when he told me the story of how he decided upon the move to Singapore, I then understood that it was definitely a good decision. He'll still be working for the same company, still in the same department, but his responsibilities have expanded. That would be really good training for him. He's one of those friends who's a go-getter. I definitely see him occupying an even higher position in the next few years.

Anyway, this weekend he was in Singapore for a preview trip. He came over look at possible flats that he and Ian can rent. In between their flat viewing, we managed to squeeze in a brunch. Yay.

They checked out a flat in Holland V. Naturally, we decided to go for brunch in the area. The area where Chip Bee Garden is actually has a few good choices. We decided to settle for Gastronomia da Paolo.

It was a good decision as I was craving for Western food. The place was also not very crowded so we had a relaxed brunch just as every brunch should be.

Close to 2PM, we decided it was time to go. They had a few more flats to check out. I, on the other hand, needed to head to the museum for an activity.

It was a short catchup but I was glad to see JB (and Ian, whom I was with last night. LOL!)

Advance welcome to Singapore, JB! See you in a few weeks!

Weekend with visiting friends...

The higlight of the weekend was meeting up with ex-colleagues.

Last Friday, it was with ex-colleague from Smart Steph. There are three of us ex-Smart PA peeps who are now here in Singapore - me, Arlyn, and JoAnn. I'm really glad that even though I don't work in Smart anymore, the friendship with the PA girls stays alive. Arlyn decided to bring Steph to Swee Choon for dinner. The place is always a good idea. Food is good. It's affordable. It has a local feel. It's not touristy. After feasting on dimsum, we headed to nearby City Square for dessert and more chitchat at Cocoa Colony.

Yesterday, my catchup was with ex-colleague from Magsaysay Weng. We went to Ikea Alexandra to buy some stuff followed by lunch at Anchorpoint across the street. Aside from being an ex-colleague, Weng and I went to the same university, and took up the same degree... though she is a few batches ahead. Hehe! I'm guessing being both Peyups grad is one reason why we really hit it off. Hehe!

Anyway, really glad to see these guys! My Singaporean friends always say that I have a lot of friends visiting Singapore. I always tell them it just so happens that my friends visit Singapore at the same time. I dunno why that happens. Haha! The other week, another ex-colleague from Smart and a friend from Couchsurfing days were also in Singapore. However, I didn't get to meet up with them as the invite was last minute and I already made plans for the day. Some other time, I guess...

Tiring Saturday...

Today was a tiring, long day.

The day started very early because of the museum volunteer training. It was a good experience though. I still remember the time when I did my own 5-minute and 10-minute presentations. I also did a presentation on writing the tour paper. By the time the training ended, I was just drained. Lol! Even my friends Gen and Lionel noticed that I was super sian during the debrief after the training session.

I think it could also be because of the weather. It's been extremely hot these past few days. From under the scorching heat of the sun, I will go into an air-conditioned room. As a result, my body is going crazy. Lol.

After the museum training, I joined a few of my fellow volunteers to go to Chinatown Heritage Centre. One of our fellow volunteers also guides at the said heritage centre. Situated smack in the middle of very busy Pagoda Street, the Chinatown Heritage Centre is a wonderful museum/heritage centre that gives a glimpse of how life was like back in colonial Singapore. The setup was very authentic. You can even enter some of the rooms.

By the time the tour ended, we were all hungry and ready to eat. We walked over to a nearby hawker centre and had a simple but yum dinner of local food. Zi char for the win!

Tiring Saturday, but a good one.

Ex-Smartees reunion yet again...

Today was mostly about meeting friends.

Ex-Smart colleague Rej is in town for work since last Monday. However, she was only free to meet up friends by yesterday.

Together with also ex-Smart colleague Arlyn, the three of us agreed to have brunch at Robert Timms Wheelock. I wonder if Robert Timms has a frequent customer/loyalty card. Haha! I've been to the place quite often in the past few weeks. Anyway, it was good to catch up with Rej since a lot has happened to her since we last saw each other. It was also good to catch up with her because I got to meet up with Arlyn again. Though we both live on the same island, we hardly see each other. Haha!

Unfortunately, I had another appointment in the afternoon so I didn't get to hang with the girls.

However, I met up again with them in the evening for dinner at JoAnn's place. That was really something I was happy about not just because I get to see JoAnn and her family again, but also because she and her helper prepares really good Filipino food. Nothing beats home cooked meals! Haha!

I guess I'll write about the other meetup separately. Lol!

Run, potluck lunch, museum, dinner...

Busy Saturday.

Got up at 6, left the house at 7. A friend has been inviting me to join their run forever. I finally find time to join them. It turns out it wasn't such a good idea because I was the slowest in the group. I couldn't keep up because I didn't want to exert too much effort on my knee.

It was still a nice fun run.

What I enjoyed more was the potluck lunch after at the house of one of the runners. Drinks before noontime? Yes, please. Lol!

By 2PM, I had to leave the fun party as I had to rush to the museum. I promised my friend that I'll join his guided tour. At the same time, I needed to prep for my own tour.

After the museum, my friend and I headed to a nearby Toastbox for a little chitchat.

My last agenda for the day was dinner with Richie. Mon couldn't join us as he had another gathering.

What a long but fun Saturday.

What happened today...

Morning activity: I woke up at 630AM. Original plan was to go for a run around the neighbourhood. Scrapped the plan when I saw that the PSI reading was 204. Instead, I did some online baking to settle some bills. Afterwards, I prepped to head out of the house. Today was the orientation for people who are interested to volunteer for the National Museum of Singapore. I volunteered to help out.

Event finished at 130PM. Just like last time, I crashed the lunch plans of Gen and Zuraidah. Hehe! We went to a nice cafe place just next to the Church of Sts. Peter and Paul. It was a good place because the proceeds go to charity.

From Bras Basah, it was a short walk to the National Library. I had another errand but since my friend's sister was not replying, I just decided to make other plans. That meant going to the National Library to study.

Around 430PM, I left the library and crossed the street to attend the Sunset Mass at the Church of St. Joseph. The homily was good, very good!

Last agenda for the day was dinner and drinks with Richie. We had a feast for two at Grandma's Raffles City. Then we walked back to Suntec and spent some time chitchatting at Ginza Lion Beer Hall. I was so excited when I saw that the place served umeshu. It really is my fave. Richie also liked it. Hehe!

Now, I'm typing with one eye close. I'm falling asleep. Lol. It's the umeshu. Or maybe it's the haze. Or the packed day? Whatever it is, I'm ready to sleep...

Rather nice Saturday...

What a productive day today turned out to be.

First off, I'm glad that I'm about 90% recovered. I'm feeling a lot better today. Fever is gone, sore throat is gone. What I'm dealing with now is a runny nose. Hehe! That didn't stop me from going on with my activities for the day though.

In the morning, Richie and I met up with I-van at the latter's hotel for breakfast. I-van's one-week business trip was extended to become a two-week trip. Hehe! I won't be surprised if he'll be assigned in Singapore one of these days. Anyway, since Richie's work was at 11 and the film I-van and I are watching is also at 11, the three of us just had enough time for a relaxed breakfast.

Around 1015, the three of us shared a cab. Richie dropped us off first at Shaw Centre before heading to Marina Square. The film I-van and I watched was Capital C. The documentary film which revolves around the phenomenon of crowdfunding is part of the ongoing Singapore Design Film Festival. Hmm, if not for I-van, I wouldn't really have watched the film. I really just wanted to watch Handmade with Love and Iris. Hehe! Still, Capital C was an interesting film.

After the movie, I-van and I just hung out for a while at the Orchard area before heading to our next agenda - Market Street for FF.

Earlier during the day, he mentioned that he wanted to go for an evening run. I told him I can get him in into FF if he wanted to work out. So, he ditched his evening run plans and instead just opted to go to FF. I told him he can go for Combat, while I can go for Gentle Flow Yoga. Hmm, I thought to myself that I didn't want to push my body to work so hard since I still haven't fully recovered yet.

Well, surprise, surprise, I ended up doing Combat with I-van. Lol! I haven't done Combat in several months. I was glad that I still knew the routine for some tracks and that I still haven't lost my hand/feet coordination. It was great to attend class again with someone.

By the time we left the gym, it was almost 5PM. I-van headed back to the hotel while I had my own plans to head back to the West. My plan for tonight was to either go to an anticipated Mass or spend a few hours at the library yet again. I was late for Mass so I decided to just spend a good few hours at the library to read. Hehe!

Thirty minutes before closing time, I packed up my stuff because I was starting to feel cold and because my nose was getting worse. Lol!

I got home not too long ago and I'm just glad that today was quite productive still.

Tired because of the weather...

It was a relaxed Saturday, compared to the past few Saturdays. Haha!

For some reason, it still turned out to be a very long day. I got back about 40 minutes ago and I intend to hit the sack after I write this post. I'm slightly tempted to watch an episode of Agents of SHIELD since I'm a bit behind. Hmm, I think I will skip it because I want to wake up early tomorrow for a run.

Today's very hot weather, I think, is partly to be blamed why I felt so exhausted on the way back. Haha!

My day started with Pump at MBFC. Initially, I invited Mon to join me but he had errands to do. I invited Jon to join me but he had a late Friday night. Hehe!

I did meet Mon after gym. He was done with his errands by then. We agreed to meet up at Raffles City for lunch at the salad/wrap place at the basement. Hmm, I think I still prefer Toss & Turn. I'm a huge T&T fan now! Haha!

Post-lunch, my next appointment was at 2PM at the National Museum. Since I had 40 minutes to kill, I decided to hang out first at neighbouring SMU for kopi si. I know, I know. It was insane that I was having hot kopi si given the crazy sweltering heat. What can I do? I love my kopi si. Haha!

Close to 2PM, I walked over to the National Museum. Today, I felt very lucky because I got to see how the new revamped history gallery now looks like. It is exciting! I was happy to see Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles again! Hehe! There are still several traces from the previous layout, but there are also a lot of new additions. I can't wait for it to open... along with the National Gallery. Sheesh, November onwards would be very busy guiding time for docents.

The curator walkthrough a little after 4. My next appointment was at 6. I had to meet up with a fellow docent to collect tickets for the Design Film Fest movies Mon, Rich and I are watching tomorrow and next Saturday.

With some time to kill, I headed back to SMU and spent an hour reading and studying. After I got the tickets from my fellow docent, I headed next to the library to continue my reading and studying. I stayed there until closing time, of course. Lol!

From the National Lib, I walked over to City Hall where I took the train all the way back to the West.

One interesting thing that happened today was I had a chance meetup with this guy I was chatting with via Line. Lol. I was walking to the library, I passed by the bus stop, and guess what, he was there! I didn't notice him because I was checking the bus route board. I started walking again. When I checked my phone, I got a message from the guy saying he was at the bus stop. Lol! I made a U-turn and we ended up having chitchat over dinner. It was good. He asked me if I wanted to hang out with him at his place, but I really was set to do some studying so I said no. Hehe!

Anyway... good night...

Brunch, museum, dinner, angels...

My Saturday ended 30 minutes past twelve (and it was already a Sunday).

Today was another busy day. There was not much activity. It was more of a going from one place to another to either spend time with friends or to attend a prior commitment.

In the morning, I met up with Mon and I-van for brunch. The latter was flying back to Kuala Lumpur this afternoon. I didn't get to spend much time with him since I was also entertaining other friends. Thankfully, Mon messaged to invite to brunch at Wild Honey Scotts Square. It was good because I get to see I-van again before he flies out and also because I haven't been to Wild Honey in a while, and I miss brunch. Haha!

Hmm, I-van, technically, is not really a visitor anymore since his work trips to Singapore is getting more frequent. Hehe! But still, it's always a joy to see him. Back in Manila, my workplace was only a few buildings away from his. We would sometimes meet in the afternoon for coffee and a smoke (well, just him). In a way, it kind of feels like that again.

After brunch, we walked around a bit Scotts and Taka before parting ways. Mon needed to go do some errands. I-van had to head back to the hotel to get his luggage and head to the airport. I, on the other hand, had an appointment at the National Gallery.

I'm excited for the opening of the museum. Hmm, I'm done with the first of two papers. The next thing I need to work on is to prep for my assessment tour. It is scheduled for the end of September. I need to spend the next few weeks to prepare for that. At the same time, I have to start writing on my other tour paper, which is due end of October.

The activity with the museum ended by 330. My next appointment was around 5 or 6PM. Since I had to stay in town for the next appointment, I decided to just head to the National Library to do a bit of reading.

By 5, I left the library and took the bus to nearby Plaza Singapura. Grace, another ex-colleague, is in town for less than 24 hours. Of course, a meetup was necessary. I suggested that Grace, ex-colleague/SG noob Arlyn, and I meet at Tim Ho Wan for a light snack. It was only 5PM. Surely, the queue won't be long. I was right. THW was also a good choice because Grace has never tried the food at the restau.

For dinner, we went to Lau Pa Sat and had a feast - char kway teow, satay, dumpling soup, naan with different dips. Grace requested for hawker food. Lau Pa Sat was the quick solution. Hehe! Again, it was a good choice because Arlyn has never been to Lau Pa Sat. JoAnn then also joined us for dinner and chitchat. Thankfully, LPS was not extremely crowded. It also got cooler somehow so the four of us just decided to stay at LPS for chitchat and dessert.

The last time I saw Grace was when I left in 2011. Less than a year ago, she was assigned to Melbourne. This was definitely a reunion. I'm really glad that even though I'm no longer with Smart, I continue to be good friends with my ex-colleagues. Every time we see each other, the feeling is like we're still working together. Friendship with the PA girls is something I'm really grateful for.

We called it a night a little after 10. I was already very tired. I couldn't wait to take a shower. It was hot the entire day, and I was not wearing summer-friendly attire. Hehe!

Instead of heading home, I decided to swing by the National Museum first to catch the last performance of Garden of Angels by Theater Tol for the Singapore Night Festival. I was initially planning to catch the 9PM performance, but of course I had to choose hanging out with my ex-colleagues. Hehe!

Thankfully, there was an 11PM performance and thankfully, it will end not too late and I will still get to catch the train back to my place.

It was a good decision to go catch Garden of Angels, even if I was by myself. Haha! The performance was really enchanting and it was my first time to see an aerial performance like that.

I finally reached home before 1. I rested for a bit, showered and then before I knew it, I was already in lalaland. Haha!

Some photos from the Singapore Night Festival...

Some photos from the Singapore Night Festival...

It was a tiring but enjoyable experience. I enjoyed the presentation at the National Museum whereby the facade came to life with a group of cute and adorable inuits turning the museum into their playground.

Hmm, we only got to visit the following: National Museum, Peranakan Museum, Armenian Church, and Singapore Art Museum.

There are still a number of other installations to be visited but I'm not sure if I have the time for it. Today and next weekend will be very busy.

Anyway, it was a good Saturday night spent with Richie, Ann Marie, Ana, and Alex. Mon was not able to join because he had another commitment. The rest of the gang also had their own activities. Hehe.

Tired and sleepy at 9PM...

It's been a long day and I am thankful that I am finally back home. Haha!

There is no doubt that I will be sleeping by 10PM or even earlier tonight. The reason for this, aside from having a long day today, is not enough sleep from last night.

After I was done with work yesterday, I headed to Orchard for dinner with Mon and Richie. CD Guy and I made plans to watch a movie at 930PM. Since he had dinner plans with his cousins, I made plans with Mon and Richie as well. However, Richie was only getting out of work at 8PM.

With time to kill, Mon and I checked out the sale at Zara before heading over to Richie's workplace to wait for him. We still had 40 minutes to spare so we ended up going for drinks at CPK.

When we reached the Thai place, it was packed but we quickly got a table. The only problem was the food took a long time to arrive. One of the wait staff told us that our food was still third in queue. It was already 9PM so I apologised to Mon and Richie that I had to go. Hehe!

On the way to Cineleisure, CD Guy thankfully asked if I wanted to snacks. I replied that I wanted a hotdog sandwich, or maybe chicken nuggets and drinks. I was starving!

I saw him waiting for me with a lot of food, LOL, and looking very cool at the spot where he chose to wait. The good thing about movie screenings in Singapore is that it really doesn't start on time. The tickets we got was for 9:30. I knew it would only start around 9:45. That gave me enough time to wolf down the food that CD Guy bought.

We watched Far from the Madding Crowd. There are no other movies to watch. It was a good choice though as I enjoyed the film. CD Guy said he also enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to talk about the film afterwards.

It was already 1140 when we got out of the cinema and I had to rush to catch the last train to JE. I only had less than 15 minutes to reach the station. CD Guy, sweet boy that he is, even walked me to the station. It's nice to be the one who's looked after for a change. Haha!

I reached home around 1AM. When I got home, my new flatmate and his partner were still up. I know it because the light in their room was still on. My flatmate also came out of his room and was about to shower. He asked me if I wanted to shower first. I said I want to rest first and he can go ahead. Lol! It took him a loooong time to finish! The good thing was he knocked on my room after 48 years to say that he was done. I thought that was really nice and considerate of him.

It was 130 when I finally fell asleep.

Because of a training today, I had to wake up at 7, and be out of the house by 8. Training was from 930-12. I had a leisurely lunch at Plaza Singapura afterwards and debated whether I should head home to take a nap or go to the library as I had originally planned.

The spirit triumphed. Yay! I went to the library and spent a good few hours to work on my museum paper. By 5, I made my way to church for the anticipated Mass.

Then, it was time to head back for dinner and now, I'm just going to finish this and I'm going to get ready for zzz...

Tomorrow, it will be a somewhat busy day. I want to go to the gym at 10AM for Pump before heading to the museum for my guiding duty. I only have one schedule for tomorrow but a fellow docent needed help. I was free so I agreed to do an extra shift. Good luck with that! Haha!

Okay, that's it.

Thank you, Lea Salonga, for a great Saturday night...

Well, Saturday night was definitely the highlight of this weekend.

More than the Katy Perry concert, I was more excited to see Lea Salonga's concert. I may have mentioned in a previous post how I was slightly crushed when I learned that all tickets for the concert were already sold out. I was on the verge of being desperate to get my hands on tickets that I scoured the Internet for ticket resellers. There was one guy who was selling me tickets at a ridiculous price. A day or two before I was going to confirm buying the tickets, not one, not two but three friends messaged me on Facebook to inform me that the concert will have a second performance night.

Wooohooo! The heavens have heard my prayers. Hehe!

Without wasting any time, I booked the ticket and forgot about it for the next few weeks until last week.

I was soooo excited for the concert that I made sure there would be no other activities for the day. There was one, museum volunteer training, but it was something I really wanted to do.

Other than that, the afternoon was just spent resting and having a siesta.

Before going to the concert, I met up with Mon at City Hall for dinner. Richie originally planned to join us but he forgot that he had another appointment he couldn't get out of. So, Mon and I just met up with him around 7 and we all walked to nearby Esplanade.

The tickets were the cheapest, I think. It was less than $60. We figured that since it was a concert, what mattered more was that we could hear her sing rather than see her up close. Hehe!

The concert promptly started at 730 and for the next two hours or so, Lea just captivated the audience with her vocal prowess. I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Her repertoire for the night was a good mix of pop, classic, Disney, musical theatre, and of course, OPM. There was no doubt that the Filipinos in the audience, including me, were expecting a few Filipino songs. Hehe! She got the audience to sing "Let It Go" with her, as well as get up from our seats to sing and dance to an ABBA medley.

On several instances, I found myself saying, "Oh my god! Oh my god!" because of how beautifully she sang a song. Even the international guests (does it sound more politically correct?) were enthralled by her voice. (The Singaporean lady seated next to me asked for the titles of the two Filipino songs - Freddie Aguilar's Anak and George Canseco's/Louie Ocampo's Ikaw). We came. We saw. Lea definitely conquered.

After the show, I dragged Jon to queue with me to get an autograph from Lea. I was hoping that we can get a photo with her, but she didn't have photographs with fans taken. To my really delightful surprise, we saw a long queue of Filipinos, Singaporeans and I suppose other nationalities queueing to get an autograph and to say hello to Lea.

By the time Lea signed the photos we bought, it was almost close to midnight. I checked the last train departing for Joo Koon from City Hall. It was at 1155PM. And so, with only a few minutes to spare, Jon and I made a mad dash to reach City Hall MRT station. When we reached the station, there was already an announcement calling passengers to board the train as it was the last train to Joo Koon. I, on the other hand, decided to take the last Red Line train all the way to Kranji. From Kranji, I will just take a cab to my place. But thankfully, thankfully, I was also able to catch the last train to Jurong East via Woodlands. That meant I was able to alight at my station. Yay!

What a fantastic Saturday night at Lea Salonga's concert! :-) I felt super proud to be Asian, Southeast Asian and siyempre, Filipino! :)

Tired, really tired, lol...

What a looong Saturday it was! How I am still able to operate at this hour, I have no idea. Hehe!

Just a quick recap of the day, and then I'm going to hit the sack.

After closing the issue (finally!) at 1AM, I turned off the lights and jumped into bed. The problem was it took me some time before I finally got to sleep. I'm not sure if it was because of the coffee I drank or because my mind was still awake. Even with my sound machine that played chirping birds, crickets and evening rain (seriously!), I only fell asleep after 15 minutes. I was hoping I would get at least 6 hours of sleep. Well, no surprise, I was up at 6.

Aware that there was no way I can go back to sleep, I just decided to get up and start the day. First stop was Jollibee at Lucky Plaza. I've been craving for tocilog or tapsilog. Jollibee was the only Filipino food place open when I reached LP. I was that early. Haha!

From LP, I took the bus to go to YMCA. The first agenda for the day was a continuation of the museum training. For three hours, I sat through a lecture on Chinese ink and calligraphy, and a bit about the artist named Wu Guanzhong. Tipz should know the man because we visited his exhibit ages ago.

After museum training, I grabbed a quick bite with my fellow docents before heading to the National Museum. I volunteered to help man the Museum Volunteers booth for two hours. There's a call for volunteers for next year. I hung out with fellow docent and good friend Lionel. We managed to get a few signups and I was also interviewed by a Thai student on the Philippine national anthem and flag. By 4PM, I was so sleepy.

I was tempted to go home but I had plans to go to the library. So.... from Dhoby Ghaut, I took the train to Bishan. There were books I meant to borrow and they were located in Bishan. Also, I asked PG Boy to help me borrow the books. I really should consider getting a library card and pay the annual $50 membership fee since I spend so much time at the library, anyway. We'll see.

While waiting for PG Boy, I managed to do some of my extracurricular work. Around 5 plus, Richie messaged to ask for dinner. He initially suggested The Rice Table. I was craving for Indian food. He suggested Sakunthala in Farrer Park. I asked PG Boy if he had plans. After telling me that dinner was with his best friend WC, I just told him to join us instead. Thankfully, WC was okay with it.

From Bishan, we took the train to Serangoon. At Serangoon, we changed to the Purple Line and headed to Farrer Park. I felt like I've been on my feet the entire day and I was just really tired. Lol!

It was a gooooood diner at Sakunthala! I will admit that I ate more than usual. I figured since I'm at a good Indian food place, I might as well eat the food that I want. After dinner, we passed by Mustafa where Richie hoarded several bags of different types of nuts. From Mustafa, PG Boy and WC headed to City Square to catch Mad Max, Richie went his own way to catch a cab, and I made my way to the MRT to head back.

What a tiring but productive day!

What a Saturday night...

What an insane night last night was! Haha!

One hotel room, 30 plus people, a mix of Malaysians, Singaporeans, HongKongers, Filipinos, good food, good booze, lots of laughter and good conversations.

That's basically a very short and very simplified description of how the birthday party was.

There were crazy moments as well. Let's just say that the number of Merlions the island has doubled. Lol! I dunno how I ended up playing Nurse Jackie to a few, haha!

It was a really fun and memorable night! I guess my favourite was the when we sang for the birthday boy. It started out in English. By the time the song was coming to an end, I yelled, "Okay, in Mandarin!" Followed by, "In Tagalog!" Then it was, "In Cantonese!" Followed by, "In Malay!" It was just amazing how everyone was game! Haha!

Both tiring and relaxing Saturday so far...

\

It's been a tiring week, both because of work and my extra curricular activities.

This afternoon, I had some sort of break. By that, I mean I was able to stay at home and just take a nap for the past two hours. Haha!

Before that, I was already out of the house at 7AM and was in the city up until 2PM. My agenda this morning were museum volunteer training and brunch with PG Boy.

Museum training continues to be exciting and interesting. I definitely cannot wait for the opening of the museum later this year. At the same time, I'm a bit anxious because I have to write two papers before I become an official docent. Hehe!

After museum training, which thankfully finished on time, I walked over to the nearby Kith cafe. Since it was still before 12 noon, I didn't have to wait long to get a table for two.

It was good seeing PG Boy. The last time I saw him was during lunch with him, his best friend and Mon at a Peranakan place. I'm happy that things seem to be going okay with him and I'm happy to hear the updates about him, his fam and his circle of friends who I also know. Though there was a particular topic where he raised his voiced at me. Lol! It caught me by surprise. Lol!

Brunch with PG Boy was because I had to borrow a shirt for the birthday party I'm going to in a few hours. The birthday boy's favourite colour is green and he requested that people wear green. Hehe! More on that party tonight or tomorrow morning.

Busy Saturday...

Started the day with Pump at Westgate. Headed to the National Museum for volunteer shift. Big group again - 4 Americans, 2 Australians, 2 British, 2 Germans, 1 Austrian, 1 Indian. I think I won't be doing any morning shifts from now on. Hehe!

Went to the library again to work on my Japanese assignment. Final agenda for the day was dinner and hohol at Mr. and Mrs. B's place. It's a good thing I didn't have lunch because the couple served Filipino food that had me going for a second serving of rice. Yikes!

Day started at 8AM. Day ended at 11PM.
