6x6 Paper Play with Sam

Hello there! This is Sam to share one of my layout using the 6x6 paper pad that is included in the April Pocket Life kit. I am loving the bright colours with a pop of yellow in this month kit. Although yellow is not my favourite colour but I love how the colour made the layout pop.

And here's my layout that I created under an hour - I started off with adding blue water-colour to the background to mimic the sea. And layer some papers from the paper pad to create a cluster of layering. Sprinkle some Freckled Fawn Star enamel dots and added title and thats how I complete my layout.

Here's the close up of the layout. The Amy Tangerine transparent stickers is just too cute! They look like stamping instead of stickers.

6x6 Paper Play with Jen Boumis

Hello everyone! Jen here sharing a layout today highlighting the Lemon Lush paper pad from the April Pocket Life kit. I was itching to scrapbook the photos I took of my children on St. Patrick's Day this year. While the colors in the paper pad this month were not themed in any way, the fresh greens and yellows were a great fit for my photos.

For the design of this layout, I decided to use several patterns and put my circle punches to use. I chose three sizes of punches and made an overlapping line of circles. I then used the CTK packaging twine to hand stitch through the border.

Glittery enamel star accents from the Pocket Life Embellishment kit added a little extra pop.

And one triangle cut of the green text pattern made for an extra large photo corner for my main picture, finished with a CTK label and a Silhouette cut shamrock.

This layout was completed in about 30 minutes!

Pocket Life With Sam

Happy Friday everyone! Today its Sam to share a Pocket Life layout with you using April PL Kit which has a lot of happy, spring colours. I am always a big fans of scrapbooking products with spring theme. And here's my spread, using photos that I print out from my usual Canon Ixma MG6370 and also photos from my Fujifilm Instax Share.

Do you notice I added a QR code to my spread on the top left pocket of my right page? I will show you the steps in this post. It is fun and easy to add videos to your PL page.

I especially love the exclusive wood chips that come with the April kit.

The 'Today Was …' is also one of the exclusive PL card from the kit.

you can download QR Scanner app to your phone and try scanning this QR code form your monitor. I tried and it works!

Here's a simple tutorial on how I generate the QR code:

1. I uploaded a video of my baby playing peekaboo in a Bat Mobile to YouTube. (http://youtu.be/1WvHihFUeFI)

2. Then I cut & paste the link to be shared to a free QR code generator website. There are a long list of these websites and I use QRstuff to generate mine.

>> Key in video ID / Video URL

>> I choose encoding option: Dynamic

>> Output type: Download

Pocket Life with Jen Boumis

Hello Friday! Today, I'm sharing Week 11 in in my family album. I used both the Pocket Life and PL Embellishment kits for this layout. This was the first week of the year that it was finally warm enough to get outside to enjoy the sun - despite the blanket of snow still on the ground - and the yellows in the Lemon Lush 6x6 pad were just perfect.

Outside play, newborn sweetness, toddler mischief and power outages were the themes this week. I love the pre-printed "need a do-over" label, along with the frown face flair to illustrate the photo of our powerless appliances. My date card uses a combination of papers from the 6x6 pad, along with a vellum "highlights" Silhouette cut and one of the frames in the PL kit, finished off with a label and a few of the fun glitter stars from the PL Embellishment kit.

The left hand 3x4 photo of my green blouse is on the outside of the page and flips up to reveal journaling underneath. I used a small piece of the yellow stripe cardstock as a hinge. And, of course, one of  the amazing etched wood chips.

TIP: An easy way to make sure your letter stickers go on your page straight is to place them on the edge of a clear ruler or piece of plastic. Line up the ruler with the side of your page or card, stick them down and gently pull out the ruler. Perfect every time!

I had a hard time narrowing down my photos this week so, added a small page protector for extra 3x4's. This side explains the power outages we endured and how we made the best of the situation. The exclusive "flying monkeys" card just seemed right. I trimmed it down a bit, added it to a clear, stitched sleeve from a past kit and slipped it in the pocket.

6x6 Paper Play with April

Hi everyone!  For my 6x6 paper pad project this month, I created a simple layout to document my niece's 9th birthday using a lot of my leftover scraps and a few embellishments from the April PL kit.

It was super simple to achieve this look.  I just grabbed the leftover scraps from my pad and cut each square down to 2.5"x2.5".  I used the end of each sheet that had the tear strip included to add more color and patterns to the page.  Then I topped each square off with other leftover scraps and embellishments that I had leftover.

Guessing Game #4 - Playing with Pocket Life with April

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to day 4 of the April kit reveal guessing game!  April here to share week 7 of my pocket life album.

This month's kits were full of bright colors and perfect to welcome in Spring.  I live in San Diego, so we didn't get the crazy polar vortex weather that most of the country was feeling, but for anyone in dire need of Spring and sunshine, then you'll definitely find it with these PL and PL Embellie Kits!

Week 7 was Valentine's week, but I never really feel the need to theme my pages to the holidays (with the exception of the Christmas season).  If you notice, I forgot to stamp the date on my title card (top left corner) - oops! 

Some close-ups.  The washi tape that comes in the April PL Embellie Kit has the perfect sentiments printed on it!

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the alphas that are in the PL Embellie Kit.  We saw them at CHA and I begged Trina to carry them in the store, so I could buy them.. haha!  Turns out she put them in a kit which was even better! :)  They come with SO MANY letters and different color options!  The wood veneer arrows can be found in the CTK Store!

The little puffy stickers included in the PL kit are so cute!  I sprinkled them all over my projects!

Guessing Game Day 2 - 6x6 paper pad with Jen Chapin

Hi there! It's time for another month of kits here at Citrus Twist and I have to tell you, I have so enjoyed working with them this month! This layout combines sneaks of the main kit, scrapbook add-on and the PL kit. I was inspired to use a lot of papers from the 6x6 pad in the PL kit.

I used some fun frames from the main kit to base my layout on. I had fun picking out patterns and embellishing the layout. These were some fun photos of my son at the children's museum.

I created a sequin pocket using some vellum and sequins from my stash, as well as the stamps this month.
