Bazzills and the Cricut.

My motto: "By 2020, every home will have a cricut!" If only for fun and to reduce economic costs of mental health! How much would the budget be cut if ALL housepersons had to take some MANDATED time out for themselves every two days and scrap their stories. lol.

I dream big.

I love the cricut because if you wanted to, all you need is plain bazzills, some photos and a few extra supplies and you have a story to scrap! (Of course, I'm just as addicted to the embellishment world as the next scrapper!)

BUT I do two kinds of scrapping...The "Slap" and the "Faff"

'Slap'
Getting the story down. Journal it while you remember, place the photos, add a few extras, add a title... DONE!

'Faff'
Taking time to fuss and change, match and detail, making it art, Trying out new things, challenging your brain!

So... Here's some examples for you of plain bazzills, a cricut and not much else!  Slap!

I'm always amazed at what plain paper can become! I've been busy this week settling into work and my son settling into school, but scrapping is at my house Sunday and Wednesday nights this week and we are all going on a challenge mission! Stay tuned!

Make Your Fantasy Reality

Hi Everyone! Welcome to day three of the Card swap from Scrappy Go Lucky!  You can have a chance to win a Scrapcessories Cartridge Caddy with one cartridge insert today.  Just add a comment to my post and you can be in a random draw from Scrappy-Go-Lucky to win one!

These are ideal for storing your Cricut cartridges, in particular your solutions or seasonal cartridges which do not come with their own binder. Scrappy-Go-Lucky will post your prize anywhere in Australia. International blog hoppers are welcome to enter but will need to pay postage to their respective destinations. Return to Scrappy-Go-Lucky's blog each day and go to the next creators blog. One Scrapcessories cartridge caddy winner will be drawn for each days major posting. All winners will be drawn at random on Tuesday 2nd November.

I love the concept of this card. I am a goal driven person and love making my ideas into action. I have a page of 104 life goals of my dreams, goals and fantasies. Over the last ten years I have been making them happen. Last year I flew a plane! I would never have imagined that could happen in my life. But my point is simple. What ever you can dream up, you can make happen!

My card is made of black bling bazzills, I put a piece of black card through the Cuttlebug with the Swirls folder, I then traced glossy accents over the raised parts. This always looks great on black card.

I used a little bit of Stazeon ink around the black card, then drew Tinkerbell from Disney Tinkerbell and Friends Cartridge out in the filigree function with Silver Cri-kits pens and then the shadow function to cut her out. I embossed her detailed wings with Bridal embossing powder. I used Stickles to bling up her wand.

The title frame is cut from the Cindy Loo cartridge, it is the mushroom frame and layers. I used SCAL to write the words with silver Cri-Kits pens.

I then used an embossing texta and rainbow embossing powder to draw 'magic' coming from her wand.

You can make ANYTHING happen!

Enjoy the Card Swap Blog Hop this week! Plenty more gorgeous cards to see and be inspired.

Chloe :)

Day Four of Scrappy-Go-Lucky Blog Hop!

Welcome to Day 4 of the Scrappy Go Lucky Blog Hop..... Which of the four new cartridges do you want to win? Have you guessed the theme yet?

Have a look at my card, and the others from the last few days and if you think you know what the theme is, head back to Scrappy-Go-Lucky's original blog, post a comment, what you think the theme is and which cartridge you would love to own for your chance to win!!!

Here's my card!

The quote comes from my heart: I’m a mum to two boys with a rare genetic condition which results in a bit of chaos in my life that I can not control. I had to
learn how to find serenity within my busy days rather than trying to escape it!

I used double sided paper from Kaiser Crafts Ebony and Ivory collection and traced a shape. Double sided is a must because you end up seeing the other side. I used a heart post-it note as my template. It was the perfect size! I then cut out the heart from the inside using a pen knife, keeping about once centimetre within the line.

I cut small one centimetre strips up to the line of the heart that I traced. I also spaced my cuts about a centimetre apart. I then used a skewer to curl up the strips to the line of the traced heart.

Place a photo or a quote underneath and it looks like it is is breaking through the cover paper. I then stuck this whole card, with fastened photo onto a black fold out card.

I used a variety of different strips of paper, diamond plate cuttlebug folder on silver paper and ribbon to splay little pieces of out from the heart shape. This was mainly to show that there is chaos (and boys!) around my serene heart.

I used Cri-Kits Gel Pens to write the title and added a bit of bling.

Now for the inside of the card!

I found this heart on clip art and used 'trace image' function in SureCutsaLot. You have to play around with brightness, corners and despeckle functions until you get a suitable picture that will draw well. I used a silver Cri-Kits gel pen in my Cricut for this awesome effective heart.

It looks amazing. I love watching the Cri-Kits gel pens work their magic with my beloved Cricut. There is no way I could have achieved any of this with scissors and freehand pens!

Lastly I used a cut out heart shape as a template to ink a white one with Black Soot Distressing Ink. It gives the card owner a chance to write some sentiments.

I hope you liked my card! I enjoyed making it! Make sure you hop along to all the other blogs this week and try to guess our theme!!! I'll see you at Tereesa's Up Late 2 Create Blog tomorrow! Good luck!!!

Crikits Gel Pens

I just love this page. When Scrappy-Go-Lucky first released their Cri-Kits Gel Pens which fit in your cricut, they ran a competition to win a Gypsy.  I had to enter... this was my entry. I love what the gel pens can do... Using them with Sure Cuts a Lot program, I did all the writing and the pictures on the paper, before I cut out the letters. This is my best example of a boy page I think... Because every mummy of boys knows you work all day... and then some!!!  This whole page was created only using Bazills. The Gel Pens can help you create fancy paper that is also unique from anything you can buy in a shop.

The grass was cut from Plantin Schoolbook font and the Titles are from the Mickey Mouse Cartridge.

I came second in the competition and was thrilled to receive a $100 gift voucher... spent on more cartridges of course!
