Whimsical Wednesday - Get well Little Man.

Whimsical Wednesday Challenge #13 is to make a project to for Angelo. I have been following Margie form Bella Bug Creations for a while now and happily made this card to wish her little grandson, Angelo a speedy recovery. You can read more about Angelo's story on Margie's blog here.
This card comes with a detachable personalised spinner, because I know little Angelo will show the world that little boys just never run out of puff.

If you take off the large brad, the spinner completely detaches.

Hospitals can be such a boring place for little boys. I should know. I have two boys with a rare genetic condition and we have hours of appointments every month with different specialists, most of it spent in waiting rooms.

Sometimes something as simple as this little spinner can be enough to distract a tired, grumpy boy for five minutes and help relax his mood.
I used Bo Bunny Blast OFF! paper and cut the little characters out like digi stamps. In the astronaut I cut a window, used peach bazzill to create a little face using Peachy Keen Baby Face assortment pack.

And a little present from me wouldn't be complete without my trademark:
Such a meaningful idea for a challenge Whimsical Wednesday, Thank you!
Wishing Margie and family all energy and love they need to help Angelo get better and enjoy playing spaceships again. Enjoy your spinner little man, if only for one little distracting minute.
Take care of the koala Angelo! xx

JUST made LORi Designs fun Sketch Challenge in time...
Oh so many challenges I missed out on this month...
Life happens.

BUT glad I made LORi's  in time.
Her Puddle Jump digi stamps are soooooo cute!!!!

Meet LORi's 'Landon' dressed up as my son.

This was Lori's Sketch for the Challenge

And here is my take on it!
The distracting orange rectangle in the corner is the logo of the scanned shirt.  Plus I inkmessed up his logos in his photos too. Safety n' all that! Hopefully it won't take your eye away from the sketch take.

Anyhoooooo.... Back on task
My Sketch Challenge entry! Hope you like it Lori.
I LOVE your lil Landon.
I bought some other cute digi's from LORi and I'm proclaiming here that BY THE END OF JULY my goal is to actually colour one myself...
*Hangs head in shame*
Guilty admission:
I photoshopped his colour in.
At least I know my weaknesses!

Thanks Party! 3 giveaways! and I need YOUR help!

Giveaway 1

THANKS PARTY!
Recently I won Getting Cricky's challenge with this entry. So I am having a THX party. I'd love to know about the things you give THX for in order to SEE more thx in my life.

I'm like everyone. I have good and bad days, the last two days have been drab. Apart from the usual daily humdrum, a million jobs to do and no million minutes to do it in, I had a few awful people trying to take my smile away (without much success) but it still wasted my time. Why can't people just be nice?!! It's a whole lot easier than being toxic. Plus the weather has been YUK!  Us Aussies thrive on sunshine!

So my Daily THX party will be just the tonic to pull everyone into a bit of light hearted sunshine!   If you head over to my Daily Thx tab, read a bit of my blah blah and comment at the bottom of that page. Write a THX for something small in your daily life which you are grateful for... At the end of the week I'll give two people FUNSHINE faces stamp packs from Peachy Keen!
There couldn't be a better prize for helping me increase my funshine in the sunshine!

I don't care how old your post is, OR even if you link to an awesome blog post you have seen. She just wants ideas by the bucket load!

I'll make it worth your while! People who help me with this random act of kindness will be rewarded with a chance to win THREE sets of CANDI

and enough adhesives... YOUR CHOICE from Scrappy Go Lucky!

Getting Cricky Guest Design Spot!

I am so thrilled to be Guest Designing today for Simply Sunday Challenge Day over at Getting Cricky with K Andrew.
I have followed her blog a while now. There is always fun  challenges, lots of inspiration and many other crafty bloggers to meet there!  I am so excited to be a part of presenting this weeks challenge to you!

Today's challenge is: Penned!
Using pens somehow in your project (gel pens, journaling pens, pens used in your diecut machines, etc). Remember it can be anything you desire as long as you use "pens" in your creation.

I love hand drawing borders so I just had to make a layout of my son with his best friend with a squiggle!

I have always encouraged my children to look for and acknowledge good qualities about each person they meet.  It was so gorgeous when Dean gave me this quote which became the title for my layout.

Speaking of pens, when Dean was telling me this, I had one old pen left in my car and I scrawled it down on an old receipt so I wouldn't forget his words. He said, "Mason is four times my friend. He is like having four friends but he's only one." Then he gave me the four reasons why he loved him. Oh so cute!

I used Kaisercraft Workbench paper from the Konstruct collection for the background and hand drew the border squiggle, the title into it and faux stitching in white around the entire edge.
The four little Mason's were made using plain bazzills then all the penning adds texture to the wooly clothes. I love the way the white gel pen works for a knitted jumper. So cute!

I used Boy Mates face stamps from Peachy Keen and I always add white gel pen to make the eyes come alive. (Apart from the bruised one of course - Ouch!)

When you make something cute with any stamps, I fully recommend cutting out double shapes, and making a cute stamp storage from an old music Cd case... that way you can store them easy and also see exactly what the stamps look like stamped before you choose to use it.
Sometimes polymer stamps are hard to visualise unless I see a stamped version.

These warm rugged up cozy boys are so cute I could cut them and pen them a million times!

Thanks Getting Cricky with K Andrew for this wonderful opportunity to Guest Design and such a great layout to add to my album.

A little OZ giveaway to celebrate my Guest Design spot! If you love Kristal's Getting Cricky, then you are my kind of scrapper! Leave me a comment here and follow too, at the end of the challenge I'll give away one of these gorgeous Couture Creation embossing folders. They are only available in Australia so it is something new to add to your scrap stash!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!

Getting Cricky with a Smiley McFace

Over at Getting Cricky you'll find Simply Sunday challenge, to add a face to your project and a great message shining bright as a person and showing your fabulous self to the world.

I'm so happy I've learnt to live out loud. The good, the not-so-good, the quirky. I am who I am. Although I love praise, I never need any outside approval to keep smiling. Which is why I am posting this layout.

It's not my greatest, it is a weird concept, but it is an important story to tell and a very big meaningful event for my son each week.

Plus it gives me a giggle about my own thought processes. I have one of THOSE brains. It has annoying inner dialogue that never stays silent. It is not happy with just "challenge" "It wants superchallenge!" So my brain said,

"Cool challenge Kristal! - Face challenge. Easy. Lots of layouts planned that could use a face, but I reallllly want to do the McDonalds one...ooooooo I know... face... Ronald McDonald. Hahahaha that'd be hilarious. Peachy Keening up Ronald!!! LOL...Which PK stamp would I use? The New years ones? REVELATION: Maybe I'm the first person EVER to PK up Ronald...hahahaha who would know that? I know who WOULD know... PK DT member Stamping with Janice. ..she always visits my blog.I'm going to ask her. Poor Ronald... OH NO!!!! imagine Paperdolling him toooo!!!!! Ooooooooo And then using the packaging in the background....hahaha...  MAKING FLOWERS OUT OF NAPKINS.... lolololol."

Having sufficiently amused myself in my own head... I had a problem. My simple face challenge turned into Superchallenge! I had 'up-sized' my challenge.
 Used the packaging.
Made McFlurryflowers using the i-top and i-top punch
out of the napkins, cups and bags.
I doubt Imaginisce ever thought that would happen.

Not that I think there is a HUGE interest out there for tutorials on McDonalds napkins... in case you were wondering how to make a
McHappyChloe McCarnation with a McNakpin:

hahaha Just a little bit Fancy.

Please Janice, tell me -
I am the first EVER person to
Peachy Keen up a Ronald McDonald?
I did use the New Years Peachy Keen set in the end.

Such a fun challenge and
subsequent personal Superchallenge.
You put a smile on my face and my layout.
It's weird, it's me, and it's just a little bit Fancy!

Cheap Chirpin #3 for June!

Today's cheap chirp is: Brads.
You can't beat em! You always use them and it is a bonus when you find em cheap.
I had an hour to myself today (wooooo!) so I went Chirpin for Tuesdays. I found the most AMAZING things which I can't wait to share over the next few weeks.
But these brads, along with eyelets were in a huge reduction bin in Spotlight. Now... I am not exaggerating - I could have sat in it and splashed around. Scrappers heaven. All of them $2 each.  So I just had to pick up a few for the Cheap Chirp. I'll include this cute blue set and a spotty pastel set in the prize box.
