Wryn - New Wings

Good morning!  Wow!  Two days in a row for me!  Things must be getting back to normal around here again.

So, did you check out the adorable new Wryn n' Friends over at the Tiddly Inks blog?  Did you squeal with delight like I did?

Here's my first of many Wryn cards to share with you...

This is Wryn - New Wings.  Isn't she cute?  I have coloured her with copics (see details below).  The papers are from Crate Paper and October Afternoon.  The ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl and the sentiment is from LOTV.   Those beautiful felt flowers are a new purchase from Emma at Sew Sweet.  She has them in loads of colours!  I think I might have to go back to some more!

I have followed this week's sketch at Sketch Saturday and added lots of embellishments.
Here's the sketch:

I must say I didn't like the sketch at first, but now that I see the card made up, I think I might use it again!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Sketch Saturday #188: Sketch
Party Time Tuesdays #49: Something New (the felt roses and Wryn)
Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge #51: Use your new stash (the felt roses)
Bearly Mine Challenge #26: Anything Goes

Cosmic Birthday and Tiddly Inks New Releases!

Good morning!  Well we had our New Years guest trip on the boat and it all went well.  The crew were all exhausted when we got home though!  We had very little sleep due to the weather.  We took yesterday off work to recuperate and relax a bit and I finally got to spend some time catching up on some crafting that I got very behind in.

Today is the first challenge of the year at Tiddly Inks and we have a couple of changes to our challenges this year.  You can check out the details here.  We also have two new super talented members joining the Tiddly Inkers... Hannah and Wendy, so if you get a chance it would be lovely if you could check out their blogs and say hello!

And now, for more exciting news... Christy has been been busy creating again and today is the new release day for the adorable Wryn 'n Friends as well as Silver the dog.  You don't want to miss these cuties!  Head on over to Christy's blog and have a peek!  Christy is also having a 36 hour 30% off sale so you'll want to find out how you can take advantage of that too!

I have to say I think Wryn is just the cutest wee girl ever and I can't wait to get back to my craft desk and make some more cards with her!    I'll show you my first Wryn card tomorrow, but for today, here's my card for this fortnight's challenge... the theme is CELEBRATE!

This little guy is called Come in Cuteness... isn't he gorgeous?!  I have coloured him with copics (see details bellow) and added some Stickles to his antennae.  The papers are from October Afternoon, American Crafts and My Mind's Eye.  The sentiment is from Pollycraft.  The wee planet in the top right corner is a rubber charm from October Afternoon.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp and Show: Something Old, Something New (old paper in my stash, new rubber charm and stamp)
Heartsong Inspirations #29: Anything Goes
Kaboodle Doodles Challenge #100: Let's Celebrate

Here's a close up:

I hope you get a chance to join us in the challenge this round!  And do let us know what you think of the new releases!  We hope you love them as much as we do!

Have a lovely day!

Tiddly Fairy

Hello!  It's another beautiful Sunday here in Athens in spite of the bad weather forecast and unstable political climate. I'm having a lovely crafty day at home and will hopefully get a chance to sort through my crafting stuff, get organised and put together a couple of giveaways.

Today I have a card to share for the current challenge at Tiddly Inks which is Anything Goes.  I decided to follow this week's sketch from Sketch Saturday (I'm so so excited... I won last week's Sketch Saturday challenge!).

I have coloured Sugar Plum Fairy with copics (see details below) and added Stickles to her wings.  I have inked the edges of the card with Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Broken China.  The papers are from Jilly Bean Soup and October Afternoon and the seam binding ribbon is from the Ribbon Girl.  The ballet ticket sticker is from Crate Paper and the tag is from Maya Road.  The sentiment is from LOTV and the corner embellishment is from Make it Crafty.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Tiddly Inks #71: Anything Goes
Sketch Saturday #180: Sketch

Best Witches!

Hi!  It's Sunday and the clocks went back this morning, only we forgot and we didn't get our sleep in!  I feel totally robbed.  We turned up to work early too!

The guests came for lunch on the boat today and since it was a wintery day and I had 8 egg yolks in the fridge from the pavlovas I made last week I decided to try out a bread and butter pudding recipe that I got from another yacht chef.  Yum!

This week the challenge at Tiddly Inks was to make a card using the following colours...

It's a tough one right?  I wasn't going to enter as I didn't think I could make a card without putting any red on it!  But I decided to give it a go anyway...

Here's what I came up with:

This image is called Higgelty. The papers I have used are from My Mind's Eye and October Afternoon.  The charm is from The Ribbon Girl as is the ribbon.  The swirly bling is from Prima.  I have coloured Higgelty with copics (see details below).

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Tiddly Inks #70: Silvery Blues
The Secret Crafter #158: Spooky or Whimsical
Glitter Geeks #21: Ghosts and Ghouls, Spiders and Spooks
Polka Doodles #43: Mystical and Magical

These are the copics I used:

By the Pricking of my Thumbs...

Of course I read Macbeth at school, but for some reason this phrase only stuck when I read an Agatha Christie novel a few years later and for some reason it pops into my head every now and then.

"By the pricking of my thumbs,
Something wicked this way comes."

Anyway, I thought it was rather appropriate to be thinking about while I was making a card for the current Tiddly Inks challenge which is Halloween is Coming.  Actually, that's probably where it resurfaced in my head as the challenge post starts "Something wicked this way comes..."

I based my card on the current Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch number 124 by Arlana Patten and decided to use Poppy from Christy's Gothic Cute collection since she has been all coloured up with nowhere to go for months now in my stash.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

The papers are from Webster's Pages from Crafty Emma's Store and the ribbon is from the Ribbon Girl.  The swirly bling and the black flower is from Prima.  I have coloured Poppy with copics (see details below) and sponged around the edge of the frame with Memento Tuxedo black ink.

We don't really celebrate Halloween in NZ, so I decided to leave the card sentiment free.  I thought it might be appropriate for an October Birthday though...

The spiderweb is made with embroidery thread.  The spiders were a challenge... I really wanted to add spiders instead of flowers along the bottom, but couldn't think of anything to make them with, then I spotted some fuzzy green brads in my brad jar and had an 'ah ha' moment.  I coloured the brads black with copics, glued on some googly eyes and then sewed thread legs through the paper before pushing the brads through.  I really like how they turned out.  The spider on the far right looks a bit goofy as I think I put his eyes on too high, but I rather like him like that so I decided not to change him.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Tiddly Inks Challenges #69: Halloween is coming
Paperplay Challenges Week 42: Use Black

Here are the copics I used:

I am in the process of replacing all my copic originals as I find them much more difficult to colour in as I prefer a flicking kind of colouring rather than the circular motion that some people use.

Happy Saturday!

Boys will be boys

Hello! Good afternoon!  Well you would think I would have learned from my last expedition to Ikea on a Saturday, but no... I just had to go back today.  Actually it was not quite as bad as the last one, but I think that is because I went to a different store... it was still a madhouse though and definitely not advisable.

Anyway, enough about shopping... I wanted to stop by to share a card I made for the current Boys will be boys challenge at Tiddly Inks this week.  I had a quick look through my images to find something suitable and (shock horror) there were a few that had never even been printed yet!  I chose to use Geekatude because I thought he looked like a real boys boy.

I'm still struggling to find a good place in our new house to take photos without casting a shadow on them... I think I need to keep looking.

Here's my card:

I tried to follow this week's sketch from Dutch Dare Card Challenges, but I'm not sure how well I succeeded...The papers I used are from October Afternoon and Crate Paper and the ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl.  The Play sticker is from Crate Paper and I have coloured the image with copics (see details below).

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Tiddly Inks Challenge #68: Boys will be boys
Carisma Cardz Challenge #41: In stitches (real or faux)
Southern Girls Challenge #29: Slugs and snails and puppy dog tails

Think Pink at My Sheri Crafts - Another bookmark

Good evening!

It's been a looooong day for me and my hubby!  We got up early to look after guests on board the boat and then had the rest of the day off, but stupidly we decided to go to Ikea to get some bits and pieces we need for our new apartment.  You would not believe the crowds that were at Ikea in Athens today!!!  It was almost too difficult to walk around!  We had to abandon our trolley at one point just to get down an aisle to look at something and someone stole it!

Then my husband went to go outside to measure up the car to find out what would fit in it and he saw the queues at the checkout and people pushing and shoving and fighting and decided we should just make a run for it without buying anything!  So, it was a very disappointing day.  We went to Leroy Merlin after Ikea (which took twice as long as it should as we got lost on the way) and then to Kotsovolos where there was no-one manning the counters so we were not able to be served and had to abandon our purchases there too... Bah humbug I say.  My feet are killing me!  Why would I wear such uncomfortable wedges on a serious shopping day?!  Exhausted and cranky and not much ticked off my list... phooey balooey!

Anyway, on to my project for today... here's one I prepared earlier for my guest design spot at My Sheri Crafts today...  The theme for the challenge this week (challenge #70) at My Sheri Crafts is Think Pink in honour of Breast Cancer awareness month.

Yes, it's another bookmark!  Another one to tick off my Christmas list.  This wee cutie is a favourite of mine from Tiddly Inks.  Her name is Lilli Claire and the title of this image is Make a Wish.   Isn't she sweet?!  I have tried to colour her mostly with pinks (see copic details below) and I have added a shiny glimmer gloss to her wings (can't remember the name of the stuff).  The seam binding is from The Ribbon Girl, and I am not sure what brand the paper is.  I have added a button from Blooming Felt and a charm from Da Wanda.   I cut the circle with my Slice Elite and inked the edges with Distress Ink in Walnut.

I would like to enter this project into the following challenges:

Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge #102: Things with Wings

Tiddly inks special feature... on me!

Oh my goodness!  Oh my goodness!  Oh my goodness!  Today, the lovely ladies over at the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog are doing a special feature called a Wow Ya Wednesday on little old me!  Can you believe it?  I'm so excited and so so chuffed that they like my cards!  I have been a loooong time admirer of Christy's gorgeous images... she has something for everyone!

Thank you so much Tiddly Inkers for featuring me!

Here is the card I made for the feature using Priscilla:

I love the new Steampunk images Christy drew to co-ordinate with the new Steampunk backgrounds from Make it Crafty

For this card, the papers I have used are from Prima and Crate Paper and the doily is from the supermarket.  The clock face is by Tim Holtz and the chipboard swirls are by Maya Road.  The flower is by Prima and the buttons are from my local everything shop back in NZ.  I have coloured Priscilla with copics (see details below).  The ticket stamp for the sentiment is from Maya Road and the sentiment is by Pollycraft.  The ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl.   Phew!  That's a lot of stuff!!!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Anything Goes Challenge Blog #49: Vintage/Shabby chic

Gravity...

This is my second post of the day...  I am having a lovely relaxing day making cards.  Not so productive though as I my mojo doesn't appear to be working very well.

Anyway, here's a card I made for the current Tiddly Inks challenge which is Sugar and Spice with a Twist  - to make a sarcastic or humorous card.

I used the current sketch from Truly Scrumptious:

The image is Always the Flower Girl from the Tiddly Inks Gothic Cute collection.  And I had the hardest time choosing papers.  In the end I settled with the main paper from Cosmo Cricket and the other papers from Echo Park and My Mind's Eye, but I'm still not happy with them.   The image is coloured with copics (see details below).

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Tiddly Inks Challenge #55: Sugar and Spice with a Twist
Truly Scrumptious Challenge #59: Sketch

Manly men

Yay it's the weekend!  This will probably be the last weekend I have free to craft in a while, so I am making the most of it and getting lots of cards made!  We head to Greece tomorrow to start our summer season with the guests.  As lovely as Italy is, we are actually really looking forward to getting back to Greece and (hopefully) our little apartment.  Living out of a suitcase gets old pretty quickly.

Here's a card I made for the Manly Men challenge at Tiddly Inks this week and also for the Charisma Cardz Challenge (Boy Oh Boy):

This is Nerdy Bot.  I think he looks like a very manly bot!  The papers I used are from Crate Paper and My Mind's Eye and the seam binding is from The Ribbon Girl.  The buttons were a crafty gift from Bookie Bird (thanks BB!).  The sentiment sticker is from SRM stickers.   I coloured Nerdy Bot with copics (see details below).
