Yesterday, I Discovered...

...that I have zero patience! I went to my Daisy Beaders class and we did Chinese Knotting. Well, you know Chinese Water Torture...this is worse. I would rather listen to a tap dripping all night than have to do this again!

You can see the pieces that I have managed to do. Frankly, if it were something I would wear, I would continue, but it is not my type of thing anyway. My friend picked it up really quickly and I was just awful! Luckily, the two ladies who run the club, Victoria and Sue, are really experienced and helped me through every hurdle...

I don't think I have ever spent a more frustrating day - grrrr!

Daisy Beaders Day - Patchwork Beaded Squares

This is something I made after my beading day on Saturday. The idea was to make lots of beaded squares in different textures and make them into a patchwork bracelet or necklace. Not something I would normally think of to make, but I do actually like the finished product. The colours are slightly different from my usual as well!

Daisy Beaders Day - Netted Cabouchons

This was SO easy to do and looked really different depending on which cabouchon was used. There were some fantastic finished pieces on the day, including my friend's black onyx and gunmetal bead mix. I used a small labradorite stone and moss/black crystal seed beads. The larger beads around the edge are 'Black Diamond' Swarovski crystals. It was hard to capture the utter beauty of the finished stone on the camera (blooming Winter light!) but I hope you can see that it is stunning. I was really pleased with the finished article and am now considering whether to make it into a brooch or necklace.

Beading Class - Daisy Beaders

This is what I made today...beaded beads. Not something I would make into a whole necklace, but beautiful nevertheless. Some of the samples were stunning!

I was happy with my humble offerings. We were all amazed that it took all day to make two beads!

Week 4 - C & G Course

Daisy Flower Chain - samples and finished project. NOT my type of thing at all, although they make nice chains for children. The red chain can be wrapped twice around the wrist or worn as a choker necklace.

Kwerner Challenge

The challenge on the Kwerner blog is to use these colours and make a card. I think I may have just got in before the time limit is up...The link to the site is on my favourite links at the top of this blog.

I hope you like it!

A Daisy Card to go with the Daisy Bag...

A Daisy Bag for a Daisy Girl

This bag has been made for my son's 'girlfriend'. He is 6 and she is 7! It is her party on Sunday and he was really chuffed when I said I would make a bag for her. He thinks my makes are lovely (bless him). I really hope that, at 7, she is not too cool for a bag like this. She is fairly girly so should like the flower/pink combination.
