I lightly inked the edges and used homemade foam dots to attach.

Back to school time for my boys today and I wanted to make something little for them to take to their teachers :) ~ Nothing like a little kiss up right from the beginning right!?!?!
This is what I made for them....

I made Milk Cartons  using a file from The Cutting Cafe.
Not too long ago Regina had a special...all the milk cartons for one price...yup I jumped at the chance and purchased them all.
This is the plain one I cut out on paper from Me & My Big Idea's
The background frame is cut from Gypsy Wanderings at 2.6" and then stamped with SU Petite Patterns in Mellow Moss Ink
The apple is from Create a Critter, cut at 1.96" and stamped with PK~491 Everyday Character Faces
I did add some white gel pen to the faces and Creative Inspirations Paint in Winter Frost.
The tag was cut from The Digi Bistro's Tag It! SVG file at 2.5" and inked with Mellow Moss, painted with Winter Frost and stamped with Memento Ink~Afterthoughts sentiments from SU.
The whole this was put together with red line tape, filled with Hershey bars and tied up with Martha Stewart Fern Seam Binding.

Hope the teachers enjoy their treats :)

Back to School Gift Bag~~ For a few Challenges :)

Hi everyone!!
I had some free time without the kiddo's around today to get some back to school crafting done.
Usually I have one or both kids asking for stamps to be printed to colored...or can we stamp with your stamps..or what can we make now. Now don't get me wrong I LOVE having them around when I am making cards and such but what could take me 2 hours from start to finish can take me all day :)
So anyways both boys had play dates today so I made a Back to School gift bag.
I made this bag with a few challenges is mind but it is not 100% complete. I am stuck as to what to put on the handles.
I am not good with tying bows so every ribbon I placed on the handles didn't look right....so HELP...suggestions welcomed please!

Ok so my bag was on I had laying around from the Dollar Store.
I used DCVW~Grade School Paper Stack as well as recollections primary color papers.
The apple was cut from Making the Grade Cartridge~one I have never used and one that is also retired. It was cut at 5 1/2" with both the shadow and top layer. I cut 2 additional apples to change the stem and leaf colors also.
I tried something new today...I used glitter and lots of it for the apple. I had never used glitter like this before and it was both messy and ended up all over the place. I used glue but I know I have read about people using their Xeron machine....mine is just not big enough so I did it the old fashion way!!
My worm is from Create a Critter and he is cut at 3 1/2". I hid the face so I could stamp a PK face on him. Way cute...don't you think?
Oh and the #1 Teacher is also from Making the Grade Cartridge.

So this gift bag is being entered into the following challenges:
Cropstop~ #32 Back to School
Creative Cutter Room~ Back to School
Throwback Thursday~My Creative Time~ #230 Retired Cartridge
Fantabulous Cricut~Challenge Me Monday~ Add a Bug
Die Cutting Diva's~Challenge #27~ Fruits/Vegetable
Craft Junkie Too ~Linky Party #20

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT night!

A "Fishy" Birthday and a Challenge Reminder

Hi everyone!

Today is my father-in-laws birthday and to celebrate we had him and my mother-in-law over for his favorite meal~pizza and ice cream cake :)

We couldn't just give him his birthday present without a card so my oldest son and I made this card for him
He is a big fisherman~ spending every night out on the water when they are down at their cottage.
He loves to then come and tell my boys all his fish stories which they LOVE!!
He even said if he catches the "BIG" one it will be mounted and hung in the cottage.
To help along with his fishing of course we bought him some more gear.
Hey you never know right?!?!

Well my card is made with all scraps :)
The fish is from Create a Critter and he is on an Action Wobble
I did add some coral in the background which is kinda hard to see all of it in the picture and I had these clear gems that I added to look like bubbles.
Of course I used my gel pen~~I swear I can not live without it!!

We had a blast making this together and "Bajah"~ what my kids call their grandfather  loved his card.

Thats all I have for tonight but before I go please make sure you go over and visit Karen over at
Karen-Kakes-Krafts..... she is having a LO challenge that is only open for a few more days.
The prize~~ a your story bundle :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT night :)

Whimsical Wednesdays Challenge #17~~ Humor LOL!!

Morning Bloggers!!

It is time again for another Whimsical Wednesday Challenge.
Ready for this one....Challenge #17 is...
"Sense of Humor"
For this challenge you must include something funny, whether a funny photo or image and/or include some wording related to humor such as laugh, giggle, chuckle, funny, hysterical.
You get the picture...right. Lets make the DT laugh :)

So alittle background before I share my LO.
I posted awhile back about going to a birthday party with my son and the party having Nickle City Reptiles as their entertainment.
Not only do the kids LOVE seeing all the animals that Jeff brings...the adults LOVE listening to how funny Jeff is.
I attached a video link so you can see a small glimpse at how funny Jeff is.
He goes around locally and does birthday parties, the fair and school events~~ BUT~~ he also is a pretty regular Late Night with Jimmy Fallon guest.

Cool huh...so for my LO I did one of "Rockey" ~  the American Alligator
When Jeff brought Rockey out it was not funny :)
The kids were excited but screamed also. Not many of us get to see an alligator up close.

It just so happened that Rockey was in the mood to perform that day.
Doesn't it look like he is smiling?
The letters were cut with my cricut from Cuttin' Up and I added some white gel pen doodles

This picture cracks me up...LOL.. it really looks like he is laughing :)

Crazy that Jeff was able to put Rockey on his back and tickle him....actually I think he was just rubbing his belly but it looks like he is being tickled.

I added a couple of info circles as my journaling using my 2" circle punch.
I inked around the outside with coffee bean pigment ink.
The rub ons are from DCVW~ Safari Kids

Here is my alligator from Create a Critter. He is too cute not to put on this.
I embossed him with my Tiny Mosaic cuttlebug folder.

So there you have it :)
Do you think this is funny?!?!
Hope so and hope you will join us this week over at Whimsical Wednesdays  for our "Sense of Humor" challenge.
Remember you have 2 weeks to enter. Don't forget to check out the other DT's LO's. I know they are all so funny and so very inspirational.

Thanks for stopping by!

Another Way To Use Your Scraps~

Morning Bloggers!

This week over at Whimsical Wednesdays the challenge is to use your scraps
So I wanted to share another way you can use all your small scraps to create.

I have a very hard time throwing out any designer paper so I am always left with strips that are too small to cut with yet too big to throw away. I'm sure there are some of these in your piles :)

What I did was pick out some coordinating paper
I thought I would make a Christmas card since I have to start making my cards and it is Christmas in July all over Blogging World!

I cut my strips into 1 x 1 inch squares

And attached them to a Shipping Label to make a patchwork design.
Your completed patchwork is now ready to cut and I do have to say even though it is thicker it still cuts great with the cricut

Here is my completed card!
I used Create a Critter for the tree and just hid the face.
I added it to a simple z fold card and stamped my sentiment in the upper corner.
Since it was alittle plain I added some Candi's to the corners in opposite colors.
I didn't want to add too much to take away from the patchwork tree.

There you have it~~ another fun and easy way to use up your scraps.
I hope you will join us over at Whimsical Wednesdays for this fun challenge.

~~Whimsical Wednesday Challenge Day~~

Good Morning Everyone!
It is time again for another Whimsical Wednesday Challenge!!

This week both card team have come together for our challenge, to make get well cards for a very special little boy. Angelo, who is the grandson of Margie from Bella Bug Creations, is going through a very difficult time right now. He underwent brain surgery last week and will begin chemotherapy next week. You can read more about Angelo at this post over at Margie's blog http://bellabugcreations.blogspot.com/2011/06/angelo.html. We hope that you will all join us and make a card for Angelo too.

Angelo is such a sweet little boy and I know he will LOVE all the Get Well Cards we send him.
For my card I used the Create a Critter Cartridge for the cute Whale.
He was cute at 3".
His body was embossed with my cuttlebug for alittle texture.
I then attached him with an Action Wobble...he looks like he is swimming :)
The sentiment was computer generated by me.
I added eyelets to the corners as well as to the sentiment and then threaded some ribbon through the two on the sentiment.
I hope Angelo likes this and can't wait to bring alittle happiness to his cute face!

Please join us this week over at Whimsical Wednesdays for this weeks challenge and put a smile on a little boys face!

~~Summer Vacation Journal~~

Hi Blogging Buddies!!
Today is the first official day of summer break and I have always wanted to journal our vacation but never got around to starting.
This year since my boys are now in 3rd and 5th grade we are making it a priority to get this done.

My son picked out the paper which is DCWV~ The Endless Summer Stack as well as picked out the letters~ from the Cuttin' Up Cartridge.
We cut the sun from the Create a Critter Cartridge and I stamped a super cute face from PKS.
We dated the journal for this year using some metal numbers I had in my stash.

My son really likes the way this turned out and has already written in it for yesterday and today.
Now I just hope he can keep it up :)

Create a Critter #39---Yes I am Going Backwards :)

Hi Bloggers! I am continuing my Create a Critter cards for the
Love That Bug Challenge and here is my card for today. This is card #39 and if you have been by the last few days I am going backwards...I am trying to make as many cards as I can before the series is up which is coming really soon.
This card is with the Hedgehog, flowers, ladybug and phase which is a flower and circle. I used paper from my scrap pile which happens to be recollection and kraft paper for the card base.
I did add sparkly brads to the center of the flowers and one layer on each flower is popped up with foam dots.
White gel pen stitching and a stamped sentiment
I so love how this card turned out. Very girlie which I like.
In Stacy's series she does not use stamps but I did add a stamped birthday sentiment which is perfect for a little girl. The stamp is from My Pink Stamper- Pink-alicious set.
So this card will be entered into the following challenges:
Love that Bug- Create a Critter #39
Claudia & Company- Challenge #82- Girls Birthday

I hope you like my card....see you all tomorrow
