Whimsy Stamp's New Release! Artic Friends!

Hello friends!

Happy weekend to you!  Today is Whimsy Stamp's new release! I used the new Arctic Friends stamp set.  This little penguin is so dang cute. I stamped him 3 times and colored them with Copics.  I used the snowflake stamp to give the background a bit of interest.  I cut the image out using the Antique Frames Die set.

The background paper is part of the Mix n Match paper pack.  I love the purples and blues together! I added a frosty looking ribbon and some Stickles for the snow.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! I am heading downtown Chicago to bring on my holiday cheer at the KrisKringle Market and some dinner!
Be sure to check out Whimsy's full release!

Love!

Hello!
It has been so cold and snowy here lately.  I'm kind of over it if I'm being honest.  But in spite of my loathing of snow lately, I do still like snowy glittery cards!
This card uses the new stamp set from Whimsy called, Marshmallow Wishes. I did a no line coloring technique with Copics and colored pencils.  I stamped the sentiment in Versamark black ink.  I used the Pierced and Stitched Circle Die to cut out the image.  I added some glossy accents and glitter.  I also used the Elegant Snowflakes and Border die to add this snowflake embellishment.
For the background panel in blue I used the Slimline Hearts Background die.  I used it to emboss rather than cut.  I have a tutorial HERE if interested in seeing how I did it.  :) For the pink panel behind I used the Formal Lattice Stencil, texture paste, and glitter.  I layered everything with Shaker Maker Foam Tape.
Have a great day my friends!

Warm Winter Wishes

Hello friends!
I have a wintery card to share today using Whimsy Stamp's new Slimline Woodland Cottage die.  I used it with watercolor paper.  I used the Karin Brushmarkers to color in each part of the image.  I then splattered it with white acrylic paint for a snowy effect.
I wanted the background to have some subtle texture, so I used the Pinwheels Stencil.  I added glossy accents to the snowy parts and lots and lots of glitter!  I heat embossed the sentiment and glued a few Sparkletz Crystal Stars to finish off the image.

Thank you for popping by today! :)

Whimsy Stamp's January Release!

Happy New Year!
With a new year comes hope and a new release from Whimsy Stamps! ;)
I adore everything in this release!
The background paper, Frozen,  is created specifically for slim line cards! Each one is cuter than the next and it make building a scene super easy! I jazzed it up a bit with glitter, clear drops, and stamping the sentiment directly to the background.  I also added a teeny red heart to the sentiment.
I colored each of the images with Copic Markers and fussy cut them out.  I popped them up using Crafty Foam Tape.

One of my gifts to myself this year was to convert all of our VHS home movies to DVD.  (Since we no longer have a VHS player)  We sat and watched home movies last night, and the memories that it brought back!  Kyle enjoyed seeing them and reminiscing.  He leaves in 4 days.......4 short days.
I really wish these next few days would slow down.
Have a wonderful day my friends!

Say Whaaaaaaat?

Hi friends!
Hope you are all doing well!
I have a quick post today sharing another new (adorable) release from Whimsy Stamps! It is called, Winter Sports.  I colored my feathered friend with Copic markers.  The background was done using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks.  (See supplies below)

I used the Rounded Rectangles die.  On the back panel, I stamped the snowflakes to create my own sort of designer paper.  The "snow" was done with Stickles.  I used a few snowflakes from the Sparkletz collection.  I decided tuck the sentiment on the side, as not to distract from my skiing flamingo! ;)
Have a wonderful Tuesday!  I have lots of projects this month, so be sure to pop on by again soon!

Quietfire Designs and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Good morning!  I was up on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog yesterday with a card I created using stamps from Quietfire Design. The sentiment is in such a gorgeous font!
I die-cut the sentiment and left the die in place to ink a bit of pink around the edges. Set it aside to work on the background by stamping several snowflake stamps and heat embossed them in gold and white. After sponging pink ink around the entire background, layer the sentiment panel over the background using Crafty Foam Tape. Then continue to layer the card panel with white and then pink cardstock, using Crafty Foam Tape.
To embellish the sentiment card panel, I added a cluster of flowers, feathers and ribbon with a few sequins. For the larger flowers, I secured it with Adhesive Dots Medium and Adhesive Dots Micro for the teeny gems.
I colored the snowflake at the top with a pink Copic marker because I wanted to bring a bit more of the pink color in.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!!

Stampendous, Scrapbook Adhesives, and No Line Coloring!

Good morning! I have a couple of winter inspired cards! (As I am sweltering in this 90+ heat in Chicago!) I didn’t officially participate in the Stampendous blog hop a few days ago, but that doesn’t mean I can’t still love on their cute stamps called Snowmen Trio!
For this first card I used a no line coloring technique.  I stamped it in a very pale blue and once I Copic colored it, the stamped lines fade into the coloring.
I cut a circle and made it my large snow ball by adding glitter and embossing powders from Stampendous! called Frantage Encrusted Jewels! So much fun to just sprinkle and heat ’em up!  I used more Crafty Foam Tape to pop up the snowmen and my snowball.
The second card was also done using the no line coloring technique.  The background was done with water colors but in a bit more vibrant palette. Instead of a snowball, I hand cut a snowy hill for this guy to slide on! I covered it with glue using the Dual Tip Glue Pen and then sprinkled it with glitter. Next, I adhered the hill and snowman with Crafty Foam Tape. For a final touch, I attached pearls and rhinestones with Dodz Adhesive Dots Mini.

I added a bit of coordinating twine, jingle bells, and a few rhinestones/pearls.
Thank you all so much for stopping by today!
Cortney is home for the weekend, so her and I are heading to the pool again!  It is unbelievable that it is 90+ degrees here in Chicago!  (But I will take it! Winter will be here soon enough!) ;)

Polka Dots and Linen!

I am starting to face the reality that summer is slowly winding down, and the impending school year is near.
Crap.
Why does summer have to  go so fast?
Soon I'll be waking up at 5:30.
Too early people....I really like the 7:00 time a whole lot better!

Honestly, I really do love my job. The kids, my school, the creative side to it....all of it. But if it could start each day an hour later, that would be great! LOL!

I was up on the SRM blog yesterday with a project all ready for winter.
I used these adorable new linen bags!  Who doesn't love polka dots?
I stamped little tags using the Fall Plans Stamp set.  I embossed in red and white. I had these silk flowers in my stash and thought they were perfect for the top of the bag.
A couple of lime green glittery leaves, gold string and the bags were complete!
Thank you to all of you who contacted me about the R + F special that was going on!
