Easter Bunny and a Hot Air Balloon?

So maybe this is how the Easter Bunny delivers all of those eggs? ;)
Could this image from Crafty Secret's Digital Bunny Hop set be any cuter? I colored it in with my Inktense pencils and then cut using the Spellbinder's pierced rectangle die. I matted the image over a vellum envelope. The background paper is also from Crafty Secrets and is part of the Vintage Patterns collection.  I swiped the edges with a bit of white paint.
I added a cluster of flowers, ribbons, deckled eggs, string, and lace. The large orange flower is a sticker from Martha Stewart.  I've been a bit addicted to them lately. ;)
Cortney's modeling journey is continuing to thrive, I am very blessed to say!
She was recently asked to be on the spring cover of Model Source Magazine.
She was also featured on the blog and Facebook page of Handicap This!
I also got an e-mail from an agent of a famous star stating that my original e-mail was forwarded to her.  I am crossing every body part I can in hopes that something big comes of it!
She was bored on Sunday and asked to model.  So her and I spent the afternoon taking pictures. I love this time with her...it definitely has become one of our favorite mom and daughter activities! These are just a couple of the shots I got of her.
Unfortunately, today she is headed to the hospital for Botox shots in her legs.
 Boo.
Because of her CP, her muscles tend to get very tight and spastic.  The Botox should help relax those muscles.  The stinky part is that she has to sit in a wheelchair that accommodates the knee immobilizers and the wedge.  It will be a bit cumbersome and probably irritate her a bit, but it will hopefully help her move her legs better!
So please wish us luck!
And one last thing.....if you would like to follow Cortney's FB page, she would love it! I would love it too!  Just click HERE!
Have a great day my friends!

It's Beginning to Feel A Lot Like Christmas!

Good morning friends! It is a frigid morning here with temperatures only in the teens. It certainly feels more like January than November.  With Christmas surrounding me everywhere I turn, my creative mojo has been holiday focused!
I used this gorgeous St. Nick image from Crafty Secret's Vintage Christmas set.  He was stamped in brown. His face and cheeks were colored with Copic markers.  I added white flocking to his beard and hair.  I cut the image out with a Spellbinder's die. While the die was in place I sponged a bit of brown ink around the edges.
I wanted to "frame' the image with a pretty poinsettia.  I used my Silhouette to cut it out. I cut it with cream cardstock, misted it with water and shaped it with a mat and stylus.  I added a bit of pink with my Inktense pencils.  Before I assembled the flower I added glossy accents and sprinkled glitter to it.  Once it was dry I assembled the flower.  I glued it to the corner along with pretty coordinating ribbon and a few vellum leaves, also cut from my Silhouette.
As you know, Cortney loves to model.  Every single weekend she asks to model. So if we have nothing for an Etsy shop or boutique lined up, we play around in front of the camera.
Just a white backdrop with white tank top on.
And this is what I got.
:)
Even with a spot of drool, I adore this picture of my girl.
Could her hand be posed any better than that?
If you know anyone looking for a teen model, please let me know.
This is a tough business and even tougher for a girl with a disability.
And if you haven't already, I would love it if you followed Cortney's new Facebook page!
I am off to bundle up and face the cold!
BRRRRRR!
Have a great (warm) day!

JustRite's November Release-Sentimental Flowers!

Good morning!  JustRite is starting their November release today, and today's first set is a beautiful one!  The set is called Sentimental Flowers.  I love sets that I can color.  I stamped the image with Versamark and emboossed it in gold.  I used my Inktense pencils to color it in.
I used one of the smaller flowers to place in the center of my ribbon.  I added a few sequins and pearls for interest. I also used Spellbinder's Resplendent Rectangles  to matte my image.
Here is the set in its entirety. So pretty, right?
The design team always does such a great job of showcasing each set, so be sure to pay them a visit.

I am off to the social security office this morning with phone, book, and snacks in tow. It's going to be a looooooong morning.  :(

Vintage Crow...

Good morning!  It's the start of a brand new week! (Okay that was me trying to convince myself that I am happy it is Monday.) ;)
I had a little bit of time to create this weekend. I am still in Halloween mode so I created this little number. Not quite your typical Halloween color scheme. ;)
The image is from Crafty Secrets.  It is part of the Halloween Labels set. It was given a bit of color with my Inktense pencils.  The perimeter was given a thick coat of black, sparkly Stickles.  All of the patterned paper is from Crafty Secrets
I added sequins, ribbon, and a glittery black spider.
That's it for me today....gotta run and mold young minds! ;)
Happy Monday!

A Card Using Scraps! (Take Two!)

Those of you that follow my blog, know that I tend to hoard my scraps and "leftover" pieces that go into a "reject" pile.  Sometimes when I look at my ever growing pile, I feel inspired and see new combinations that I may not have normally seen.
I am not sure if I love this card, or hate it.
But that is what creating is about.
Playing.
Experimenting.
Thinking outside of your comfort zone.
So with these leftovers, I created what could easily be a wedding, anniversary, or feminine birthday card.  The sentiment is from SRM STickers.  I cut up a pink striped straw to add a bit of interest to my watercolored flower.  I added glitter, string, epoxy dots, and a blue frame using a Spellbinder's die.
There are a lot of things going on with this card.  It is as far away from a CAS card as you can get! LOL!
I am sure with the amount of stuff I have laying all over my desk, that another "reject" card will be created in the near future.  ;)
I am off to a field trip today with my 5th graders to learn about the French fur trade.
Wish me luck! (and warmth!)

JustRite's October Release- Mums and Oak Leaves

Good morning to you friends!  I have TWO cards to share with you today!  It uses 3 new sets by JustRite.  I have been on a watercoloring kick lately and wanted to use my Inktense pencils to color this first image.  I stamped JustRite's new set, Oak Leaves in Versamark ink and embossed it in white.
I colored the leaves with my Inktense pencils and a water brush.  I stamped the acorns a second time and fussy cut them.  I popped them up with dimensional foam circles.  I added a bit of twine, rhinestones, and sentiment.  I swiped all of the edges of the rectangles with Versamark and sprinkled them with gold glitter embossing powder by WOW!.  I love the subtle sparkle it gives. A few sequins finished the card off.

My second card uses two new sets.  The Crackle Background stamp and the Mum set. I again stamped it with Versamark and embossed it in white.  I used my Inktense pencils and a water brush to color  the mum.   The Crackle background was stamped with a dark brown ink on kraft paper.
I added a sentiment, string, pearls, and a button to finish the card.

And how about a little enabling?  ;)  Christmas is right around the corner!!

Be sure to visit the other designer's blogs for more inspiration using these fun new sets!

TGIF! Happy Friday to you all!

Watercolors and Angels....

Good morning to you my friends! I have been a bit neglectful of my crafting and this little blog of mine. Since starting school I have been trying to settle into some sort of a routine. It hasn't been easy.  ;)  So here and there I have been managing to squeeze in random bits of time.

I adore this image from Crafty Secrets.  It is their Rose stamp and it was embossed in white on watercolor paper.
I water colored it using my Inktense Pencils.  I continued the water color look on the back panel which I randomly added pinks, oranges, and yellow to.  I spritzed it with water several times to help move the color.  I adhered everything using dimensional foam squares by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.  I added a sentiment, ribbon, sequins, and a couple of rhinestones to finish it off.
When Cortney came home from her RunwayLOUD experience I wanted to commemorate her beautiful dress and wings.  I decided to do a little photo shoot. I created a thank you card for all of the people that made her dream happen
This one is my favorite.
Love her.
I am off today with my dolly.  She is sick with a double ear infection and the start of pneumonia.
I am so glad I took her to the doctor yesterday.
Meds, extra sleep, and some TLC should do the trick!
Have a great day friends!

JustRite's September Release

Good morning and happy weekend to you!  I am slowly getting back into a routine with work, kids' schedules, and my crafting.  It is sometimes difficult to balance my "crafty work" with my "regular" life.  But little by little I am finding a new routine that fits.
This month, I was able to take a bit of time off from JustRite's September release to focus on the other areas of my life. So I missed the beginning days of the release.  Be sure to check out JustRite's blog to see my talented friends and their crafty handiwork.  ;)
I used two brand new sets today, Modern Lattice background stamp and Extra Grand Sentiments.
The background was stamped in Versamark and embossed in silver.  I gave it a bit of color with my Inktense Pencils.  The sentiment was embossed in pink and given a watercolor wash for some soft color.  I also created a watercolor background for my embossed panel.  I used my Silhouette for the flower and glittery leaves from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. A bit of silver twine and pink thread pulled it all together.

Best Wishes

Good morning!
I have a few misc things to share with you today.
First, I have a Crafty Secrets card that was created using a pretty digital image. (I apologize, but I am unable to link to the image.  For some reason I can not find it and have e-mailed Sandy for its location!) It was colored using my Inktense Pencils.  I added a light blue rectangle matte behind the image using a Spellbinder's die, Decorative Labels Eight.
The bee is a sticker from Mrs. Grossman's. I added a fun button, string, and a few sequins to finish off the card.
I have always loved photography and now that I have my new camera I am going nuts taking pictures.  So I hate to tell you all....but expect to see more pictures on the ole' blog.  ;)
I took pictures of my good friend's grandson. It was very impromptu, but all you need is a soft fuzzy blanket, evening light to make his eyes sparkle, and crazy woman with a camera!
Her next door neighbor had a litter of puppies and I grabbed my camera to shoot some of these little guys.  (and girls!)
Who doesn't like a few good puppy shots?
And yes, these two are from the same litter.  All  pups look completely different from one another.
Thanks for stopping by and allowing me to share with you!
Off for a bike ride and to take more (yes MORE) photos with my son today!
He is taking a photography class this year and I am hoping it ignites a passion for pictures in him.
(Then maybe he won't whine so much when I take pics of him!)
Have a great day!

Water Colored Birds

Happy Friday to you!
I have had a crazy busy week and have been away from my computer most of the time. I have been spending time with the kids, family, and friends.  I've been trying to catch up with people I don't always have the opportunity to see.
I did manage to spend one afternoon water coloring some images on my deck.
This image is from Crafty Secrets and is part of the Sing For Joy digital stamp set.
I colored it using my Inktense pencils.  I love the soft water colored effect. The image was cut out using Spellbinder's Resplendent Rectangle's die. I inked around the edges a bit to distress it a bit.
The flower is also from a Spellbinder's die, called Bitty Blossoms.  I gave it a bit of color with my Inktense Pencils as well. I added some vintage lace, pink string, and a few sequins to finish it off.
The temperatures are supposed to be a bit warmer, so hopefully we will make our way to the pool and relax a bit!
Have a great weekend!
